All Spectrum Electronics

This is a small shop I stopped at because their sign read military surplus. They have good prices on their military style bags. They have overalls, military fatigues & related clothing/​hats/​etc. The amount of survival gear they have is very limited, but they have some.

When I lived and flew out of the Valley, this was my go-​to shop for lots of aviation supplies. It is good to see them still still there, and growing.
There is no replacement for being able to get what you need from your local brick-​and-​mortar right when you need it, and he keeps your business with knowledgeable service. The owner stocks a variety of daily needs (oil, charts, kneeboards, headsets, etc…) and several things you *want*, like pilot watches and high powered flashlights visible the length of 16R!
Unrelated to aviation, but something that appeals to many pilots’ interests is the other side of the business with electronics hobby kits (non-​aviation). The Military surplus section is since my I moved from the Valley, so I can’t say anything about that.

..Sadly, ever since the economy tanked in 2008, many sectors have been affected including General Aviation. This caused for Pilot Shops near Van Nuys Airport to close down since not enough were paying to fly. Fortunately, this one remained strong and survived till the bitter end. From there it has had the immediate supplies I would need as the rest would come from online, where the market is constantly thriving.

This is where Van Nuys Army Navy Surplus has resurfaced. Not as big but has all the basics. I found what I was looking for and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

), but now they’ve opened up a shop. They have all the products from online, plus a lot of kits and stuff. Really glad I found this place. And the woman working there is super cool. I’ll definitely be back!
