Fathers Day was made fabulous by coming to the 94th Aero Squadron! The staff really made our day! I was looking for a place that could make 3 generations of family members happy and we found it. The food was very good and the atmosphere that was really fun. The wonderful and unique hostess named«Martini» took great care of my family. We all got a kick out of her personality and cool style! She really went with the cool 1940’s vibe and excellent music they were playing. Even though it was a really hot day, Martini made sure to find a shaded spot for my grandfather and the other seniors while they waited for their reservations. The personal service was really appreciated and made us feel taken care of. My whole family loved watching the planes. How often do you get to sit near a runway? Very Cool!

Just returned for lunch with an elderly friend. Am shocked this restaurant manager still has a job. Not only is the place still disgustingly dirty but the carpet still hasn’t been cleaned and I was there six months ago. The black tape put over the worst holes is STILL there — in the same spots! With the prices they charge they could get the carpets cleaned or replaced. This is horrendous. Food was awful. My friend couldn’t finish her meal and we only went there because she begged to go. This is unbelievable. The glasses we got had food crusted on them and we asked for fresh glasses it didn’t go down well.

Let’s start off by saying I have been in bed for almost 24 hrs now with food poisoning. Wow people this place needs to close down for good. Waste of property on a good location. 94 problems starting from service to the most important the food. The food there is on another level, smelly nasty and most of all painful. Hot plates were cold and cold plates were saggy. Please don’t even waste ur gas going to 94 problems, not to mention $ 50 per plate was defiantly not worth it! We went for Father’s Day but mainly my birthday which fell on the same day… It’s really sad that I had to suffer 2 days since then because of the discussing old food served to their customers. I wish I took some pictures of the dirty place as well as the nasty food served. Oh well. Lesson learned not to eat at 3star restaurants !

Ohhh my god! By far the worst place i have ever been too! First off what i was told was all lies! We got recommended by a manager at the Oddessy resturant in Granada hills. I was told its a very nice family oriented resturant and something for sure the little kids will enjoy… Well as we walked into this place, i already knew it wasn’t what i was told. The hostess on the phone and the gentleman at Oddessy both told me there is a pond with ducks running around … Hmmmm. Was that an imaginary pond ?? Second every table we passed by, there were kids watching cartoons on their parents cell phones. Already a red flag ! All the kids were bored and screaming crying. We were there 2 hrs there was one plane take off and so my kids were not very entertained and ended up doing the same thing., watching cartoons. NOWWHEREDO I BEGINEBOUTTHEFOODATTHISPLACE. YUKWASTHEONLYWORD I CANDESCRIBETHEIRBUFFETAS ! everything was old! Cold! Messy! Dirty! And tasteless!!! Did i mention dirty! It was so dirty inside that my 3 year old went to get ice-cream with me, she turned and said«mommy i dont want it anymore it smells bad here«. If i can give 0 stars i would. It takes a lot of anger for me to sit here and waist my time by typing all this, but it was my husbands birthday and we paid 300 $ for brunch for 5 pple and we left hungry! It was 50 a person all u can eat buffet and it was disgusting. BADBADBADBAD. HORRIBLE. !!! Never again!

First and last time is how I will rate this restaurant! I took my husband and family tonight for Father’s Day buffet… very disappointed. The food had been sitting out what appeared for hours…, potato salad, cucumber salad and other food items looked disgusting. The carving station had over cooked prime rib with a horseradish sauce that clearly had been sitting out for hours. The Eggs Benedict were over hard, the eggs sat in hot water waiting to be served. Lastly, the desserts were picked over. I would not recommend this establishment, it is way over priced for the poor quality food served, save your money!

Horrible horrible service. Not sure what happened the last two years. DONOTEATBREAKFASTLUNCHORDINNERHERE! The views are amazing and the drinks, well when you poor them from a bottle to a cup they taste the same. No presentation period. Our server was eating right in front of us while he was suppose to be cutting the roast beef. If there were negative stars I would give them that!

Your standard steak and potatoes restaurant. That is a throw back to the by gone era of the 40’s. Solid meal with good drinks. Reliable food and wait staff. Views of the van Nuys airport are fun.

Eating here as I write this review… I have nothing negative to say. Food is great, happy hour is great as well, and our server Lisette is THE best! Even though it was after 6pm, she still gave us the early bird special price on our dishes since we arrived a few minutes before 6. The view here is also very pretty and adds a nice touch the to the place. You should definitely try this place out.

This is a late post, but I wanted to make sure that the individuals who offered their excellent customer services on Mother’s Day are recognized for the outstanding job they did. It was our first time visiting this restaurant and I for one was not aware that on Mother’s Day the menu was actually a buffet. Regardless, Craig, Raul, and Peter did a marvelous job at making sure our table was clear of plates, our drinks were never empty, and their priceless smiles were on point at all times. The manners these men presented was much appreciated. Kudos to Jack, the manager, for the great staff and service offered on such an important day. Thanks for the great experience guys!!!

Unique and fun dining experience! Easy drive from the Westside. The entire side of the restaurant is a wall of windows overlooking the runway so you can watch the small planes taking off and landing. The walls are adorned with photos and articles sharing this spot’s story/history. Brunch buffet options were tasty and drinks were reasonably priced! Tip: if you can, park alongside the road before getting to the parking lot. Makes for a smoother exit.

What a neat find! My friend went to fly an airplane and I was told I could watch her take off and land if I headed here. There is a large cute patio that faces the runway and it’s just the best. I used to love watching airplanes take off and land as a child so I felt super nostalgic being here. I took a seat outside and ordered the appetizer combo. First, I’d like to mention that the free bread with butter and parmesan pesto was super delicious. Anyway, the combo plate came with crab stuffed mushrooms, calamari, and spinach artichoke dip. Those mushrooms were the best! I ordered some wine as well and it simply was the best afternoon! Now the inside the restaurant it’s a little old and rundown. I don’t mind the 1940s décor with WWII theme, I just think it could use a little update. Paint job, reupholster, etc Anyway, it was pretty cool.

EVENTSREVIEW(for my April 1 wedding reception): THEVENUE: The 94th Aero Squadron is a hidden gem at the Van Nuys Airport. I love old Hollywood and the style of the early 20th century. The venue offers nostalgic American charm. Imagine your guests watching private jets and vintage airplanes up close. It’s like your own private airshow. People are still raving about how wonderful the entire experience is. It’s amazing to me that this venue is so affordable because the service is unmatched. We were on a serious budget and they really helped us make our wedding reception a truly memorable and beautiful day. We had 75 guests. THEEVENTS/SALES TEAM: I can’t believe how accommodating and wonderful Debi and her whole team are! They are fantastic, warm and you can tell that they want to make each event special! They made me feel like a queen, and that was wonderful! There was no «salesy» pressure or no snobbishness. Everyone, especially Debi was attentive and genuine. I can’t say enough wonderful things about the people! THEDAYOFTHEWEDDING: I have only had positive feedback from my wedding guests, and have been told that this wedding is going down as one of the top of all time! We chose the middle package(sit down) dinner. The prime rib and the chicken were both fantastic, and they kept my vegetarian sister happy too. Everyone loved the food, the atmosphere and of course the 2 hours open bar! Yogi was our bartender, and his charisma added even more sparkle to this already perfect night. Cocktail hour started outside on the porch and guests got to watch as private planes flew in and out while sipping on cocktails and enjoying passed hors d’oeuvres(crab stuffed mushrooms, prosciutto wrapped scallops, caprese skewers and these little baked brie bites). The reception itself was in the Rickenbacker Room, but the outside space was available with the fire pits all night and guests took advantage of both the inside and outside spaces.(The bar was set up outside.) Once the sun went down they turned on the fire pits. People danced inside on the dance floor and hung out outside to have conversations(no one had to yell over music that way). The night was perfect and the air traffic control tower’s light added a very romantic«Casablanca» feel.(That could be because the Van Nuys airport is most recognizable from it’s appearance in the film«Cassablanca.»)

This is my very first Unilocal review, and I’ve had a Unilocal account for sometime. Yesterday’s experience here really made me want to write this review. Maybe others will avoid coming here. First off the tables are disgusting, dirty, scratched, stained, but that was the least horrible thing about this place, lets talk about the food. MADETOORDEREGGSBENEDICT?! Yes my favorite! UNFORTUNATELYTHESEWEREDISGUSTINGITWAS A BOILEDEGGWITH A DISGUSTINGRUNNYHOLLANDAISESAUCEANDANOLDSTALEPIECEOFBREAD. Had one bite and had to say no more to this dish. PRIMERIB lacked seasoning but the only edible thing we had for our $ 40 a person brunch. Who can mess up MIMOSAS?! They can. Then we had a plate with a small amount various different items i.e.; baked chicken, mash potatoes, country potatoes, enchiladas, menudo, shredded pork and rainbow tortilla chips. All this food was GARBAGE and again flavorless and inedible. We left all our food on the table having eaten nothing more then a few bites between 2 people, I was completely disappointed to have had to pay $ 88 dollars for the low quality, flavorless heinous food made available to us. In conclusion BRUNCHINVANNUYSWAS Wishful thinking.

I would like to Thank Debbie Brown, and the whole crew who made my «50th Birthday so Spectacular«from the gentleman that helped me Setup, to the Server. Now for the«Food«my Menu was Surperb… Two different Salads, Garlic Mashpotatoe, String beans, Tri-tip, Salmon, Chicken Cordon Bleu and all different Deserts. Also Fruit trays and Cheese & Crackers. Everything was wonderful ! I still have people coming to me saying that was the best Dinner Birthday party ever. …I would recommend it to all my «Friends and family«. –Dina Morrison

This place needs a remodel and a cleaning and a complete overhaul. How dare you charge me and my family $ 46.95 for Easter Brunch and put out that slop. Food inside crock pots does not cut it. The buffet has no organization and if you get there an hour or two in the buffet gets filthy. The carpet has black tape all over it. No tablecloths for the tables and dust and filth everywhere you look. You have a lot of nerve charging $ 46.95 for that. I mean really mini corn dogs and really bad soggy pizza for the kids. The eggs Benedict were cold. The sushi is a joke and the prime rib was bad. I came here with high expectations and am not a picky person when it comes to restaurants but when you charge me that kind of money all I ask is that you clean up the place. In the end bad food Dirty dirty dirty place Never again! I’m done and I’ll never be back. You’ve been warned!

I went in there today to see about putting up some posters for the LA County Airshow. Was greeted by a very friendly hostess. Talked to her about the show and then had an amazing lunch. The waitress from very attentive and the food was amazing. I had the Blackened Chicken Pasta. It comes with a great cheesy bread. The chicken was so tender and the pasta was in an Alfredo style sauce. Sat by the window and watched the planes. I lived in the valley for 22 yrs. I worked almost across the street from here and never had gone in. Sad that I have missed all these years of wonderful food, service and great atmosphere. I love the retro feel. I will definitely be back when I am on the neighborhood again. Or I might have to just take a trip down there.

Thought I’d give this place a try for the 1st time ever and discover their DineLA menu. Being a pilot, I’ve wanted to check out the place — located on Van Nuys airport. I call to make reservations at 2:50pm today(Saturday) and someone picks up and hangs up. So — thinking it is a mistake — I try again and hear a lady speaking who hangs up again. I attempt another 20 times with a 10 minute break in between and get the same thing — pick up and slam the phone on me! Now I’m on a mission to reach a manager and let them know about this employee who gives this restaurant a BADFIRSTIMPRESSION!!! I will finish this review and promise I will get a hold of someone(who I know will play dumb) by tonight. Needless to say I’m not going here tonight and will not patronize a place that doesn’t train their employees to answer the phone correctly!!! Update: 01÷23÷16 @ 7:42pm — General manager called me and apologized saying that phones were down. May have been a fluke incident. Decided to give them a try and eat there. Food was great and well-priced. The wine pairing was totally worth it! I’ll be back here.

Outside a French Village we ventured into the past entering this cottage styled dwelling. Two WW11 style bunkers protect the entrance from saboteurs. Old fashioned hay truck and a hoist with a bale of hay. Attached is another building that appears to have been shelled out from artillery fire. Yet once inside and seated by the window, you have the view of a outdoor country patio seating overlooking an airfield. An occassional vintage WW11 aircraft readies itself for takeoff. Fabulous view of the airport. Reality is that this is a well designed structure that gives the appearances of drifting back to the past in the country. Situated in an industrial area at the end of a cul de sac, next to Van Nuys airport, this place is amazing. Yes, I can overlook the wrinkled up rug that’s probably had been trampled over by thousands of feet. There are old styled headphones at some of the tables where you can hear the aircraft radio traffic. First to arrive, I suggest that you arrive at 11:00, since it did crowd up with business folks and dates. The service was quite up to par with prompt refills. I immensely enjoyed their entrée of fresh bread(you can get extra) and a good amount of butter. Salmon was delightfully surrounded with a tasty sauce, embedded in an assortment of veggies broccoli, carrots and zucchini. The ice tea was rather tasty and was a great drink to enjoy and finish up my meal while watching jets takeoff.
