The Retreat at Serendipity Province

I went here after the spa I usually go to was booked for a month and I really needed a neck and shoulder massage sooner. The girls at the front desk were not friendly and did not even acknowledge me for approximately two minutes that I stood there while they were on the computer. I think the normal receptionist was at lunch and walked in as I was going back for my massage. The massage therapist was good but I’ve had much better massages and much friendlier service at other spas so I will not be returning here.

Huge selection of services available here. I have been several times now and had several different massage therapists. All of them have been super professional and given 110% to the treatment they provide. The owner has put a lot of time and thought into creating a very Zen and relaxing environment. Two thumbs up!

The spa offered a complimentary service after the fiasco me and my husband went through. I decided to take them up on their offer. Angela did a really good job with the massage and I was pleased with the customer service I experienced today!

I have tried quite a few other places, & this is the BEST spa in the Valpo area. They have a great variety of services and packages, weekend & late hours (including Sundays open), availability in scheduling (was able to get in the same day), & reasonable prices (monthly specials & discounts if you pay cash). I highly recommend Maria for massage as well as facials. She does an outstanding job.

Horrible experience. Facial was a bad joke… took my girlfriend, she had the same experience.

I’ve come here a handful of times since moving to Valpo and am really happy with my experience every time. My last therapist was Maria, and she is what turns this four star review into five. Some thoughts:
LOCATION: The building and «look» from the outside isn’t appealing, and I’m sure they don’t get much walk-​up traffic. But hey, that just means I can call and get a same day appointment.
PRICE: I think it’s very reasonable, particularly when it is 15% less when you pay with cash. This ends up cheaper than your typical Massage Envy-​esque places.
SERVICES: Good selection of different types of treatments and massages. The last time I got something called the «sheer bliss» which was a combination of Swedish, head/​face/​neck, and a foot/​hand with some warming mittens and slippers. 95 minutes of… well, I dunno about sheer bliss, but super relaxing and just what I needed.
THERAPISTS: Like I said, I had a great experience with Maria. Relaxing from head to toe. I also went once when I was having some IT band tightness and another therapist did some trigger point work on it and, ohmygod, it hurt so good. So, my evaluation is that you get what you ask for. If you want them to dig into you, they can. If you want to go on a brain vacation, they can get you there, as well.
Overall, no issues for me. Satisfied, returning customer.

I ended up going here because my regular masseuse couldn’t get me in. It turned into a VERY happy accident! I have had a few different massage therapists there and each has been sure to address my specific needs and use just the right amount of pressure. One of the biggest draws for me is that there isn’t the usual «fluff» part of the massages. When they massage your head, you can literally feel the tension leaving, not the little hair flipping most places do.
The atmosphere of the new location is very tranquil. The prices are reasonable and they offer a cash discount which is GREAT! I have recommended them to many of my friends and everyone has been just as happy as I have.
