It’s not advertised but you can get boba in their smoothies for $ 1 extra. They’re large and delicious! The food is average but filling.

The key phrase for most of these reviews is, good for the area. This is not a good Chinese restaurant but it’s one of the few we have and it is passable.

My favorite Chinese food in the area. No better place to get General Tso’s chicken! Definitely my go-to for whenever I’m craving Chinese.

Unfortunately we did not have a good experience. The restaurant is not very kid friendly. No one offered a booster seat or high chair. They placed a hot, scalding tea pot directly in front of an 18 month old. The service seemed to be unfriendly and very rushed. The food was decent at best. The sweet and sour chicken was battered so much that I could barely taste the chicken. I rarely give low ratings and we will try it again. I am hoping it will be better the next time.

Excellent Chinese food — not your standard take-out fare. Sit down & get ready to enjoy a wonderful family-style meal!

Ordered twice via grubhub. Both times delivery was on time, everything came as ordered, and the food was fantastic. Notable dishes: Chicken Corn Soup — By far my favorite item on their entire menu. If I was stuck on a desert island and could take only five things with me, it would be five large containers of this soup. Mango Smoothie — Oh my science, this smoothie is amazing. Probably the best mango smoothie I have ever had. HUGE chunks of mango in it. This alone is worth a five star review. If the other smoothies are made just like this one, you won’t regret buying one. Delivery driver: arrived at the estimated delivery time, incredibly sweet and friendly. All in all, a SUPERB experience both times.

Good food. Waitress was a bit rude. They had«Dirty Jobs» on the TV while we were eating and it took quite a few requests to get it changed. Lost my appetite

This was one of the not super busy places in downtown Valpo on a Saturday night when my husband and I stopped out there, I got my usual garlic chicken which was pretty good. I’d go back again.

The owner and staff are very friendly. My personal favorites are the potstickers, lo mien, and general Tao chicken!

Very very good food. The egg drop soup is excellent. They give you big portions so maybe consider splitting an entrée. Have been wanting to try this place for a while and I’m glad that I did. Great food!

This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Valpo. It has great flavor. Best of all, they are on and they deliver. Note to other delivery restaurants in Valpo area, please get on Grubhub and you’ll be more profitable. Especially for growing families that do not go out to eat Awesome crab rangoon and Lo mein, they use really good roast pork.

Although the food is ok, the service is mediocre. I’ve lived in Valpo for 8 years now and ONLY go to Jade Garden. They deliver!!! I was told that by a rather rude woman that they don’t deliver. Too bad. But after driving every day the last thing I want to do is get in my car again and get take out.

The food here taste very good. I loved the Basil Chicken, Egg Foo Young, and Egg rolls. I never really had not had a dish that I didn’t like. The service is okay. What has lead me to not eat at China House anymore was a experience of order out. Where we ordered Our regular Basil chicken and Egg Too Young. Got ready to eat, watch a movie and relax, when I noticed something in my food, my friend looked at me as I got another plate. Poured more egg too young with the gravy and there was more yes I’m sure you guessed HAIR! Several pieces. I have not been able to go back since.

This is one of my favorite Chinese places of all time, and it’s an amazing gem for a town like Valparaiso. Perhaps the quality was different at some point, but now it’s better than I remember when I was little(the 80s). My favorite is ma po tofu, it’s spicy an perfectly prepared every time.

China house is tucked right in historic downtown Valparaiso. Honestly, I lived here my entire life and just recently tried it. It truly is a hidden gem. The service is great and the food is excellent(much better than the other Chinese places in Valparaiso). The menu is extensive and it reads like a book! They also have great $ 5 lunch specials.

Seems to have changed their chef or ownership. Food is much better, and probably best in the region for Chinese.

In the past I enjoyed this locally owned small business and then stopped going there because the quality of the food diminished. However this is no longer the case. After trying several different dishes, my husband and I both have found the quality of the food to be exceptional along with the portions and price. When dining in the service personnel are very attentive and friendly. The Beef & Broccoli, The Orange Chicken, Beef with Pea Pods and Beef Chop Suey all are excellent. And their Egg Rolls are very, very good. I have eaten egg rolls all across this country and theirs rank in the top 10%. I really enjoy their luncheon specials where for a very affordable price you can try different selections. Also this has become my go to place for Chinese carry out. Finally, the ambiance is very Asian with a quiet décor and peaceful music. Those with numerous people in their groups may enjoy the round tables that are not found in many dining establishments.

This place was nasty. My wife ordered the orange chicken which was supposed to be spicy but wasn’t. I had the sesame chicken which was soggy and not tasty at all. We split the lo mein that was drowning in sauce and tasted like a dirty sock. To top it all off my wife had a rat turd in her fortune cookie! Good fortune, this place is crap.
