I was in the market for a new road bike and needed some advice in the process of selecting. Someone had pointed me at Specialized and after researching I decided I wanted to check them out. Initially I wen’t to a Chicago bike shop(I will not name them by name as people might think I am a website plant obo Jano) but I got peppered with ‘upselling’ and jargon. Through the Spcialized website I found this store(although their address is 19 E Lincoln Hwy) in Valpo. I took my wife and they sold us exactly what we wanted: a wonderful shopping/cruiser bike from specialized. They took the time, at least 60 minutes, to explain the ins and outs of biking and it was very entertaining to see someone so ‘loving’ their business. I went back a week later and order a great starter bike, a Specialized Secteur Comp(if you care). They gave me a 250 $ biometric fitting session on a saturday for free. This truly was very informative and made the bike all that better. Not only that, the bike was prepared with much care: the mechanic had taken lots of time to make it whispersilent and smooth. Their offering is all Specialized bikes and their prices, inclusive of the service I received, are VERY reasonable. I bought some carbon shoes as well and found them cheaper than what was on the web(they were on sale), What is also worthy of mentioning is that this shop is very active with fund raising in the community. They have a heart and care. Talk to the owner about beers and biking and you will see his eyes light up! We adore this shop and think small businesses like this give charm to lives and communities. We recommend them for the experience and the superb service. PS: after 8 hrs of biking they want you back for free bike and fitting adjustments. Thereafter you can come back any time to get free help with fittings. PPS: did I tell you Specialized bikes are stunning?
