Great food, vibrant atmosphere, amazing service. If you’re in valpo, make sure to eat here. The French onion soup is great, and my wife loves the filet

Love this place, my wife and I have been coming here for 10 years and always find something new to try. This time it was the lobster pot pie, outstanding!

Fave for French in Valpo. I gone for lunch and dinner and both times has been great. If you’re into martinis this is a good place to go to.

We brought our favorite couple out to dinner on a cold winter Valentines night. Keith accommodated us with our last minute reservation. Daniel was a fabulous server!

My husband and I went here for Valentine’s Day last night. Honestly, just ok. The ambience is nice, intimate setting. The only thing is where our table was at every time someone walked in we got a blast of cold air at us. We had the crab cakes app– definitely had better. Dinner I had the lobster risotto– good, but fairly average. My hubby had the ribeye. Again, everything was just very average– not anything that would keep us coming back. Although, martinis were pretty good.

We had a late dinner at Bön Femme after a late soccer game. Wonderful food. I had crusted cod and my wife had the beef bourginon crepes. We were the last diners in the restaurant and they were setting up for a party for the next day, so there was a bit of commotion, but the food and the wine are excellent and the prices were very reasonable. We would definitely go back.

I live in down town Chicago and have eaten in many upscale restaurants. My experience at Bön Femme was exceptional. Our server, Shea, is one of the best servers I’ve had. She was very attentive and made us feel like her sole purpose was to make sure our experience was exceptional — and it was. We will certainly be returning to Bön Femme and ask for Shea to be our server.

I had dinner here tonight. The food was excellent and the service was outstanding. Shea was our server and she is one of the best servers I have had in a long time. Her recommendations of our entrée and wine was perfect. She was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us. I will certainly ask for her the next time we go there. Mo, the manager visited our table and we were very impressed with her knowledge of the restaurant, and was a true representative of what a manager should be at Bön Femme. Will definitely go back.

Stopped in here on a whim while out on a day trip. Picture a street scene from the 1950’s. This is basically a college town. Right across the street from this beautiful park. Beautiful interiors. Nice little bar. Not a big menu but carefully chosen. Same with the wine list. Could use more wines by the glass not just house wines. Quiches are outstanding. The lobster roll was incredible as were the seasoned fries. Service is fast and friendly. The bread pudding for desert arrived right out of the oven. Will be back if out this way again.

I hate to say it, but I was actually fairly disappointed in this restaurant. The category on here classifies them as French food, but looking at their menu, you’ll see there are actually very few French dishes.(The soup of the day was southwest chili, if that tells you anything.) I’m not sure whether they were understaffed when we arrived or if the server we had was just preoccupied with talking to his coworkers or another table, but when we sat down, we were one of two tables sitting indoors.(Another server was taking café of those on the patio.) We were never offered bread although others were, and it took a long time for us to get our drinks.(Their house Riesling is fantastic!) The food was fine in terms of presentation – we had oysters for an appetizer and the curried chicken and New Zeland lamb for entrees, all of which tasted fine – but for the prices we paid, I expected something a little more high caliber.(We could’ve gone down the street to Parea and spent half the money for the same quality of food.) Overall, it just didn’t wow me or have enough features to warrant another visit. I also suggest recategorizing this as fine dining, American cuisine, with minor French undertones.

Went here on a random weekday date with my boyfriend and found this to be the perfect spot. With soft lighting and good food, it was a great experience. They also have a great bar area. A closed baby grand piano is surrounded by high seats serving as a table looking out to the street. Adds a bit of creativity and class to the place.

Again a wonderful meal, I font know why but they have the best Filet Mignon! Also, the appetizer, Tuna Sesame Encrusted with Wasabi. Mona makes the best Martinis around, wine list is good too! Highly recommend if you like good quality food!

A diamond in the middle of Valpo! Wow! What ever took us so long to get to this little chic upscale restaurant. Mo, our server, was professional and personable — gave us great suggestions, kept our glasses full and while taking care of other guests, she made us feel as if we were her only ones!~! Plus it’s a very cozy, romantic and quiet restaurant — even when it was half full as it was when we dined. No kitchen noise, no bar noise, no staff chatting and each table felt private. LOVEDTHAT!!! Now the food — Ahi tuna appetizer — melt in your mouth with flavorful dip and plentiful enough to share. Salads were a colorful display of a variety of greens, beets and grapes with our chunky bleu cheese dressing — they were a refreshing treat. Now for our entrees — the crab and sweet corn quiche was tasty with a buttery crust — a high compliment from my husband who doesn’t like quiche was«Can I have another bite but bigger? This is great!»; and linguini with shrimp and andouille sausage made us both smile bite after bite. There were so many great choices, it was hard to decide but that makes us want to come back time after time again!!! The dessert menu came and we were having a hard time deciding, so again Mo recommended the chocolate peanut butter pie for later. She was right!!! When we got home, our first bite led to another and another and we wished we’d gotten two! A flavorful peanut butter with graham cracker crust and topped with chocolate. Ohh my! So I don’t know if it was the exceptional service from Mo, or the absolutely delicious food we’ve had in Valpo but we know this is going to definitely be our«go to» place when we are in Valpo.

A well deserved five stars goes to this little gem. And I am from Los Angeles, I was impressed with the food and the service of this place. The ambience was so pretty, their Christmas tree was beautiful! My husband and I visited his grandmother over the holidays and took her out to dinner at bonne femme. It was the perfect setting for catching up with grandma, the noise level was perfect. Everybody’s food was really really really good! Whatever you’re doing bonne femme keep it up! If ever I’m in town to visit grandma again we will be sure to pay you a visit!

I’ve been coming to Bön Femme for years now, and it continues to be my favorite restaurant in Valpo. As a vegetarian, it’s hard to beat the apple salad — made with bibb lettuce, Gorgonzola cheese, granny smith apples, and a white balsamic dressing, it’s absolutely incredible. I’ve tried to recreate it at home and just can’t get it to taste the same. Pair that with the vegan lentil soup and the house made sourdough bread, and you have yourself a heavenly meal. When I can get myself to order something other than that, which honestly isn’t often, I find fresh, creative offerings. My husband recently ordered a vegetarian risotto that was INCREDIBLE. Always a great wine list, always excellent service.

I had this place bookmarked and when my boyfriend’s cousin and her husband asked us to have lunch with them, my man told them I wanted to try this place so we all decided to come here for lunch. I was impressed of the way they made their crab cakes, it’s not like the usual ones I had which typically just feels like finely ground food in your mouth. This has crab meat textures and lumps of meat. The flavor however is mediocre. The seafood cocktail was a NONO. Tasted like it had been thawed out, I’m very greedy when it comes to oysters but I could not even afford to eat two in here. One is oyster is what I could only risk. The french onion soup was good, tho. I actually wanted to give this place a 2 star for mistakenly charging us $ 40 for a glass of wine which was a hassle for us to come back and asked them about it.
