On the Spot Cleaners

I get my coats cleaned here. No hassle and my items are super pristine on return.
I’ve had alterartions done here as well and the attendant was very cool about altering one garment several times, even though the old/​er geezer looked a bit confused/​uncomfortable as I tried my jeans on in front of him. He directed me to a curtain (which didn’t serve much more privacy but do I mind? *shrugs*)
They are also honest if you have a garment they can’t handle/​clean.
I’ve been using them over two years and I’m pleased with their prices and work.

Sandwiched between a giant laundromat and brand new sushi place, On the Spot is barely visible from Merrick Road. The tiny entrance is in the rear, and when you enter you’re a little confused as to whether you just entered a dry cleaners or an opium den. In the summer, it’s brutally hot, the employees are clearly uncomfortable, and there are piles of clothes everywhere. You want to get out, so you drop off your clothes and bolt.
Fast forward a few days (or the next day… even if you drop something off late but ask for it the next day, they’ll usually be good about having it done by 5). You return, slap down your cash, which won’t be much because it is very affordable, and there are your perfectly cleaned, steamed, whatever, clothes. I’ve never had an issue with any damages or sudden stains, and they are very good at getting any kind of stain out… coffee included (i’m spastic). I’ve never had them alter anything, but wouldn’t hesitate to go there for alterations.
The only reason OTS gets four stars is because parking can be a real hassle, you need to use the village lot in the back, which is often full because of the oversized laundromat next door
