Old eqipment, broken tables. Not fun to play at. In decent staff, blaming customers for poor game and equipment instead of acknowledging poor service. Decent people come here overall not a great place for groups to come and have some casual fun, nor to meet young singles. This review is coming from someone who never gives(or tries never to give) less than 3 stars. The air in at the place also smells fungus like.

Went on a Saturday night and was given service promptly. We ordered our drinks and got a table to play pool. Pretty much after that no one came to check up on us and it wasn’t busy. Once, it was time to go the bartender left us waiting to pay the manager threw my boyfriends card 4 – 5 feet to the bartender to be swiped. We weren’t pleased with the service but the place is nice to hang out and play some pool without elbowing the next player.

Guys & Dolls is a great place to come. Whether it be with your friends, family or your significant other. The atmosphere is always alive & the bartenders here are great! They have a large selection of beers which is a wonderful thing. Because let’s face it, who doesn’t love a good beer?! Even the selection of alcohol is great. Definitely a good time all around at this place. Not to mention the great people there.

This is a great place to play pool. They are really friendly and the prices for drinks are really good. I would recommend this place to anyone.

It’s a great pool place across from valbrook diner with a nice bar, you can order from there and have it delivered. They also have ping pong and darts. It’s a nice place to chill with couple of beers. It’s like $ 8 an hour each person. They also have nice music and a station where you can change songs.

Guys & Dolls is a cute name for such an outdated pool hall unsure why it’s referred to as a «pool lounge». There’s a bar, several small flat screens and no music. We arrived around the Happy Hour and ordered drinks at the«bar». The bartender was welcoming and a sweetheart. She gave us a 2 for 1 deal, but I am unsure how much that was. This bar is mostly stocked with house liquors and beers. No top shelf just your basics. I ordered an Angry Orchard to play safe. The design of this hall is… very 1970’s. There’s a Ping Pong table where retired friends slap around their paddles. There is 1 Knicks basketball hoop game machine and at most 5 Pool tables. Good thing I came already fed because there was also NOFOOD served here. Luckily, there is a Diner across the street where you may opt to have food delivered. This is some place you’d find Al Bundy, however, if you have a strong urge to play pool and want a quiet game with less stylish dramatic flare and no aesthetics, come here. For a beginner, this spot served it’s training purpose.

Went to guys and dolls with my boyfriend on Friday. The prices are good and I like that it was really low key. I really enjoyed the music and liked that it was not too loud. Were definitely going back in the future.

This place gets 3stars right now but it’s slowly improving every time I go. It’s across the street from Valbrook Diner and a little hard to miss. It’s pretty spacious at the bar So you never really feel overcrowded and the bartenders are always nice and attentive. Two For Tuesdays is something you can’t beat! Pool seems a little pricey but I never came here to play pool. If the jukebox isn’t playing, it can get pretty quiet in there which is kind of awkward for a pool hall. If there’s a game on, they’ll have a projector playing it on the big wall by the entrance which is pretty convenient. The décor is decent but they’re always making changes so I’m sure it’ll turn out to be the local hangout spot. Word around town is they will be getting food soon so I will definitely look out for that.

Good equipment, well-maintained, good atmosphere — saw players of all skill levels having a good time, some with dates, some groups of guys, some alone. About a dozen 9-ft tables(Brunswicks?), no problem getting a table at 8:00 on a Saturday evening. Outstanding staff. Space is a little tight, but still very playable. I’d offer two suggestions: put coffee on the menu and install new lights over the tables — the light kits are for 8-footers, and they don’t quite do the job for the 9-footers. Overall good experience, will return when back in town.

I found this pool spot closer to home after a Unilocal search. It had a free drink with Unilocal check in and I think now they have discounted game play. It was a convenient find, but the place was dead silent. They had a jukebox which we used to play music so we wouldn’t fall asleep on the pool tables. It was a good place to focus on the game with friends since it wasn’t crowded or loud. There was only one bartender working and he seemed pretty bored. He comped me a drink after I got a few which was nice. I would probably go back and use the discount. Located on Merrick Rd, it’s one of those you can drive by and miss it spots, but if you find it it’s a hidden gem, but it would be nice if they could play music without you paying for it, but you get to choose what you want to listen to. There is a good and bad with everything…

I wasn’t really impressed with this place last Friday night around 9pm when I went here. There was a big rectangular bar up front, and a DJ set up playing rock and rap music. The pool tables were all too close to each other and the space was too narrow and felt cramped. I did appreciate the Unilocal check in offer for two drinks and two hours of pool for $ 20, but after an hour I really didn’t need to play on those football field sized tables anymore.

Husband and I were in the area so we thought we’d check out this place since we were in the mood for shooting pool. The bartender was really nice, rates were awesome($ 3 pp per hour on Saturday until 7pm), place was clean, and equipment(cues, tables, games, etc.) were in good shape compared to other places we have been. We didn’t really drink that afternoon so I can’t comment on the bar. The bartender was very patient and explained all the offers/specials they have for different days of the week(I can’t remember them all) and they sound like a great deal… even after considering I would have to pay the toll to get to Long Island. Would definitely come back but just wish I lived closer.

Went here with a few friends and although they provide pong tables and the price for pool is reasonable. the beer just ruined the experience. My friend ordered a Corona that was clearly skunked and the Guinness was watered down to the extent that the consistency was way off. Cmon really… Would give this place 2 stars however the bartenders are nice and they did honor the Unilocal deal without any hassle.

Hmm thought i was going to give 3 stars, but after thinking about it, the bartenders are really nice, prices are ok, and i kind of want to support a family-owned, local, hometown establishment. The bartenders are attentive and they… care. last time they read our minds and asked if they should break out the 2nd pong table for us, with a «pitchers only $ 7 for pong!» remark. like we even need convincing to play! people are nice — have had good experiences playing vs. strangers. pool/ping pong pricing seems weird to me? $ 7 p/p per table, so that’d be $ 28 for 4 ppl/hr on either. That more than what i pay in astoria, in flushing(more than double), in brooklyn, and in the west village. with that said, they always seem to give us the benefit of the doubt — with how long we played, # of people, and being really easy-going about the Unilocal check-in offer and not even hesitating to let me use it on ping pong(in small text it says 1 hr of pool free per 1 hr bought).

I decided to go to Guys and Dolls after passing by and seeing the new signs. I had always wanted to go but somehow never made the trip. The place which apparently is newly renovated looks fantastic. There are about 12 pool tables, ping pong, a nice bar and a small room with an Xbox Konnect and other systems. It seems like it would be a cool place for a small party. I played two rounds of pool with the boyfriend and we both got beers at the bar. They honored the Unilocal check-in for buy one get one free off your first drink which was cool. Overall, I would say that this place is a pretty chill spot and I’ll be back.
