1 800 Preowned

HORRIBLE! Went there on Friday, November 6, 2015 to check out a Volkswagen Jetta for my daughter that we saw on their website for $ 9,598. When we got there, we spoke to a salesman named Tory. There were 2 Jettas on the lot and we asked to see both. After Tory checked inside the office, he pointed at 2 people and stated that they were in the process of buying the car we saw on the website. We test drove the other Jetta and my daughter liked it. We then spoke to the manager Jason. We were told that the car price was $ 11,995. Jason said he would give it to us for $ 10,800. We gave a $ 100 cash deposit for the car and said we would return to complete the transaction. Later on, my daughter went on the website to show her friend the online photos of the car. To her shock, there it was, the car we were originally interested in but were told was being bought by someone else was actually the car we were going to buy and it was advertised for $ 9,598. When I went back to speak to Jason, he told me that the lower price was only valid if we put $ 2,995 down and financed with them. He said many people don’t read the fine print on the internet ad and make the same mistake. I re-​checked the online ad and NOWHERE does it say any of that. I asked for a refund and Jason told me it would be mailed on Monday, November 9 and should arrive by Thursday, November 12. I called the dealership on Saturday, November 14 because I still hadn’t received the refund. I was told Jason was busy and couldn’t talk. The woman who answered took my number and said Jason would call be back. He didn’t. It is Now Monday, November 16 and I still haven’t received my refund. Right after this review, I’m contacting Consumer Affairs and the Better Business Bureau. Classic stereotypical used car guys. Shame on me for taking them at their word and trusting them.

Typical shady dealership. Duane, a sales rep, had me come in for a certain model and then said they didnt have it. Bait and switch dealership, avoid at all costs!

ok listen people before you even read this check the BBB website and look at their rating. My wife brought a truck from this dealer which ended up breaking down and have many problems 3 – 4 days later. They will always tell you the cars are in great condition. The saleswoman that helped my wife was very nice but isnt there anymore and seemed extremely stressed out either from lack of experience or she must have to deal with alot of complaints… be extremely extremely careful buying a car from this place. Alot of the cars have hidden issues that won’t be noticed until after driving it. Becareful with the extended warranty also. If you can avoid it. They never seem to cover the problems the cars have and I think they know that. This dealership has been there for a long time under several different name’s but same owners. They will get you into a car you want if your credit is effed up. But be prepared to spend a hell of a lot on repairs. Their mechanic is the coolest person there and very very honest. But the people working across the street at the dealership be very wary. If you can bring a lawyer and mechanic when you go to buy a car. The only thing I like about this place is the Turbocharged Civic Si in the showroom.

I purchased a vehicle from them back in March 2015. The vehicle has since «fallen apart» cost me thousands so far and continues to do both. The management there avoids me and any dealing with making this right. If I could give less than 1 star I would.
They have a BBB rating of D+ and I’m sure it will only go lower as more people do their reviews.
I do NOT recommend.

I purchased an Infiniti G37 from this place. It was my first car purchase so I over looked one detail … I was given one key instead of two keys.
I didn’t think it would be a problem, but what I didn’t know at the time was that the hard key does not work & I can not open the car manually.
The keyless feature worked fine, but stopped working so I replaced the battery and it still did not open the car.
I called up the dealer and asked to speak with the manager was told that they would not do anything since I had not bought it to their attention earlier.
They kept on transferring me over to different people and they tired to shift the blame on me.
They should have at a minimum given me a key that was fully functional, but now I have to pay a locksmith to rekey my car so I can drive it.
They do not care about customer service and I will be buying another car at a dealer that is focused on customer service. After all excellent customer service creates repeat purchases … not to mention word of mouth.

John from the dealership had the nerve to follow up with the statement below. Interesting because he was the one who told me that they would not fix the issue so he obviously knows how it happened & what the issue is. I should have two functional keys … I don’t even have one!!!

I called the dealership after their comment below and once again I was given the run around. I spoke to the manager and he told me «you are not going to like what I’m going to tell you, but you bought a used car «Just because I bought a used car that was not cheap at all does not mean that I receive half assed service. They can’t even fix a simple problem that they caused.
Moral of the story don’t buy a car from this place.

Me & my daughter went too this dealership in august 2013. which is right in my hood. looked at a few cars test drove a 2009 nissan altima. checked all fluids only 56,000.miles.The, sales, person he was cool but it was his manager who started this sales pressure tactic, by adding some fee of $ 400 i told them i would come back after lookin around now the sales guy trying too pressure us too sign because manager put pressure on him i said no deal foh they sleaze, you see this place keep driving buy. A new car dealership is best place too buy used or new from my experience. They get no rating. but have too give one too post.

Set off yesterday from the Bronx looking for a cash deal on a used Nissan Murano — had no idea how hostile/​unpleasant buying a used car in NYC can be!
After four FRUSTRATING hours of visiting other dealerships in Brooklyn/​Queens, which reeled me in with out-​of-​date listings/​unrealistic prices, started to feel hopeless around finding ANY car within my set budget. A last-​ditch search effort on Cars.com’s mobile app brought me to a listing belonging to 1800 PreOwned. After a quick phone call to verify that the vehicle was still available, immediately knew that my day was about to change — for the better!
Even just speaking to the salesperson (Noël) over the phone was a breath of fresh air. He physically confirmed that the car was still available while on the phone, and put me right at ease from the moment I walked-​in through the doors. No gimmicks — just an honest professional, who was courteous and kind from start to finish. The interior/​exterior of their 2005 Nissan Murano was in AMAZING condition, and was immediately sold on it shortly after the test drive. Finance Manager (John) was also a pleasure to work with, and helped me secure the best possible cash deal on this car. Happily drove off the lot with a 2005 Nissan Murano, and can confidently say that I will be exclusively doing more business with 1800 PreOwned in the future.
If you’re tired of hassling and haggling with shady dealerships that have cars in sub-​par condition — give this dealership a try. No regrets here!

I’m about to purchase my second car from 1800PreOwned and I’m returning to them for a few reasons. First off, I had a hell and a half of a time trying to get financed ALONE, not to mention the fact that most dealerships on the strip of Merrick Rd treated me like scum when they realized I had less than perfect credit AND was on a budget! (After all, the smart thing to do is to buy a really expensive car with poor credit so you can pay double the value of what that car’s worth, with a 25% interest rate, right?) After the first time I walked into 1800PreOwned and they were the first people to make me feel alright about my financial situation (and that there was hope!), I was hooked.
Now I don’t know how it works at 1800PreOwned, but I can tell you it doesn’t feel like anyone’s trying to breathe down my neck for a sale. The team is up front and realistic about what cars they show you to fit your budget, explain how their system works and what options are available to you and they guided me through the entire process with what I can honestly say is the most disclosure I’ve ever gotten from a car dealership, period.
I sat down with David today to work out the details for my Scion tC and every question I had about numbers was answered, clearly and up front. He took his time and didn’t try to rush anything, even though I was just putting down a measly $ 100 deposit. The team is a bunch of stand-​up people who are normal every-​day people like you and me, who understand and care.
And not to mention, when I ended up eventually having a problem with my Neon, when I brought it back, they fixed the problem without any hassle. That’s what cemented their reputation, in my book. Anyone that stands behind their product is a person I am willing to work with!

DO NOT BUY YOUR CAR FROM THIS PLACE. EVER.
I bought a car from 1800 Preowned and was TERRIBLY let down. Infuriated, actually. The car ended up completely breaking down on me about a month or so after I purchased it. Of course, the warranty had already expired by that time. The transmission had died so I spent $ 3,000 to get another one. Not fun. Walking out of the dealership, I was told that the car was in «excellent» condition. LIES. How the hell does a car go from being «excellent» to «completely dead» in a month?
If that was the only problem, then I would not have taken the time out of my day to write this review. The transmission problem was only the beginning. In the next three months, I spent over another $ 2,000 getting a new fuel pump, new hoses, AND a new radiator. The guy at my auto shop said some of the parts were very worn down and in poor condition. To top that off, the tread on the tires were clearly very worn down too. That is a total of over $ 5,000 in repairs alone!
Let me reassure you, I do not drive long distances nor do I drive like a maniac. I drive my cars with the utmost respect, to work and back, or to errands around town. After the initial breakdown I was too scared to do anything too fast or crazy with this car anyway.
Why did I keep spending $$ to fix a car that is clearly trash? Because I work 7 days a week and it is easier/​faster to fix a car than to shop around for a new one. I have learned my lesson and will NEVER buy a used car again, especially not from 1800 Preowned.
So thanks, 1800 Preowned. You guys lied to me, sold me a pile of trash, and wiped out my bank account in the process. And for that, you get this review. Please try to listen to your conscience the next time you try to sell a near-​broken car.

My husband and I purchased a car from here in March after visiting many dealers both on Long Island and in Queens. By the time I called 1800 Preowned I had a very bad taste in my mouth about dealing with car dealers. I have to say this dealership is nothng like any other dealer I dealt with in the past. From the moment I met John the finanace manager it was straight forward, no games, gimmicks or beating around the bush. We talked affordability, purchase price, financing, down payment and what he had available to us within my strict boundaries of what we wanted to spend for the type of car we were looking for. It was such a pleasure dealing with John, he didnt waste my time or his and when it was all said and done we got what we wanted and drove home.
Its been 3 months since that day and many trips out of state later. The car is exactly what we wanted and needed. Its reliable, its great on gas, the payments are reasonable and we still love our car. I am so happy with this dealer that I will never go anywhere else and just 2 days ago we decided that our son needed a new pre-​owned car and we went back to get a car for our son and the experience is exactly the same.
If you are frustrated with buying a car come to 1800 Preowned in Valley Stream, they will change your whole thought process about buying from a dealer, no stress no hassle just good business from good people.

I was all set to buy a pickup truck from this place, until the manager intervened and added more than $ 400 to the price in bogus fees. This was after I had emailed and called to confirm the final price. The truck was in good enough shape, though they agreed to do some repairs (there were two active recalls on the truck they hadn’t fixed even though the recalls are fixed free by Ford) and still hadn’t done the one repair promised when I went to pick up the truck. I took it to a mechanic and the mechanic pointed out some issues — none of them deal killers. The manager was very dismissive of a lot of what the mechanic had to say but agreed to a few things. Then he tried the high pressure sales closing move and added more than $ 400 in fees. No deal. I walked away disappointed that they would try such a dirty move.

I would say that this location is the epitome of a sleezy car dealership.
I went in for my first car, which happens to be used since I had traveled all the way from California for school.
I left the location hoping to leave the lot with a vehicle which I could utilize for just one year. Instead I end up spending more to rebuild the car
then when I first drove off the lot. The car didn’t last for more than 2 months when I find out that the transmission is worn out and broken. Spent a lot of money
getting a new transmission. Then I find out that there is a tear that has developed with the coolant valve and radiator, which both had to be replaced. And now there is trouble with the engine itself. I drove off the lot promised to be able to drive this vehicle for just one year easy, but ended up having the most trouble I have ever had in my life financially because of the this car.
The dealers are good, as in good in the choice of words. They are grimy and dirty, as in they seemed to not have thoroughly checked through all the necessary checklist before handing the keys to me. Also, it took them three days to get the car checked before giving me the keys. There are many troubles that I believe was not checked efficiently and they are desperate to get off the cars that they have on lot. I would rather go through personal private sellers than go to a dealership such as this. They are not much of an assistance, and are untrustworthy.
I would not recommend going to this lot to anyone I know, so why would you?
