Seriously, if you’re in the area stop by this place. Great service, great food, good portions, delicious deserts. Treat yo self

Attempted to eat here today. Was sent over by an employee at lake camanche. There were 3 «open» signs posted yet doors were locked and it appeared that there was no one inside. 1100 and no one around. Called phone number and no answer. Very disappointing. Gave my business to another restaurant and their Mexican food was tasty. Poor customer service to not be open or responsive at posted times.

One of the better Mexican restaurants we have found, and we have tried many. The salsa is always fresh and delicious with chunks of tomato not pureed. They are good with service and keep your drinks and chips and salsa full. There is nothing I have tried that I didn’t like. We’ve been coming here for 13 years and will continue!

Definitely the best Mexican restaurant in town for sure. I love their deep fried ice cream.

We used to come here frequently, but in the last year or so, cooks must have changed. The food doesn’t have the flavor it had 3 years ago. It’s ok, not delicious

Been here a handful of times and never had a great experience. Went there on a Tuesday night because my family wanted to go, parking lot was full, do not come here when the parking lot is full! We waited about 15 minutes for 1 of the 3 servers to take our drink orders, received the drinks from who I was told was a regular bar customer. We waited about another 10 minutes and finally had to ask for chips and salsa. Finished those and asked for seconds all before we were asked what we wanted to order. Food finally comes, my enchilada was packed with tomatoes, disgusting. I did not want to send it back just to wait another hour for my food. I will not be back.

Food not very good, no flavor. I ordered a chile relleno and a pork taco. The tortilla was very old and crumbled. See picture. The chile relleno was all egg. I found a tiny piece of pepper and a tiny amount of cheese. Sauce on top was good with a lot of added salt. I really liked the beans for the same reason most people don’t like it when I read the reviews. They are runny, but I really like my beans that way. Service was excellent!!!

Most of the time, this place has great food and good service. Once in a while, they have an off day where it’s not that good, but the good has always outweighed the bad. My husband and I came here for our first date, and we like coming here when we’re in the mood for it. I usually order the chicken Vallarta burrito and it is really good. They also have great nachos, fajitas and chimichangas.

Good menu, food, prices, service. That is enough info but Unilocal wants it long. Maybe I should tell my life story.

A lot of our food was microwaved. The portion sizes are big, and carne asada was very tasty, but overall it was over priced($ 32) for 2 burritos and a tostada. We will reconsider before going again soon. Have to say, the chips are fabulous though!

I understand that many people consider this the best nearby Mexican restaurant. This makes me uneasy about the other restaurants. Almost every time I drive by this restaurant there are several cars in the front. On weekends, there are a lot of cars. With great hopes my husband and I went a couple of week ago. The chips were excellent; the service was very good; the food was barely adequate. It’s one of the Mexican restaurants that covers every speck of plate with food or sauce. The runny refried beans run into the sauce from the enchiladas which goes into whatever else you have on the plate. I had ordered a combination plate and it took me awhile to identify what was on the plate. The quality of the food was just okay. Not worth sending back to the kitchen but not worth getting again. I really wanted to like this restaurant, but probably won’t go back. If I’m unwilling to drive farther, I’ll pick up some Las Palmas and fix my own enchiladas

Very good selection of authentic dishes. I can especially recommend the burritos, carne asada tacos, and the quesadillas. Margaritas are the best anywhere!

We used to think this place was kind of good… the past couple of times we’ve visited I’ve noticed the quality of food has gone down quite a bit. After eating(or rather not eating at all) lunch there yesterday I was absolutely repulsed by the food and walked out of there with no intentions of ever returning. I understand it’s the middle of nowhere and hard to find good food, but the recent good ratings for this place just make no sense to me whatsoever. Find somewhere else to eat.

I have been here 3 times every time hoping my prior experience was just a fluke but only finding that that the experience is the exact same every time just really bad. My main complaint is that the food is simply terrible. It taste like there’s cleaning products in the food. My wife has the same experience and on several occasions we’ve simply just not eaten the food because it is so bad. The rice tastes like it has dish soap or something mixed in with it. I really don’t know exactly what it is but it just tastes like chemicals. We are residents of Valley Springs so we hear people talk about how good this restaurant is which is why we had returned three separate times. But we’ve come to the conclusion that people like this restaurant only because they have a lack of options and have not been too good Mexican restaurants due to living in such a small secluded town with nothing else good to eat. On a positive note I will say that the service is pretty good they bring you your nasty chemical tasting food pretty quick and it’s hot. But the best part of this restaurant is a specific server and I believe his name is Gordo or something like that. It’s a Hispanic guy who used to work behind the bar but last time I was there he was serving food. He’s a very nice guy and is the best server I’ve seen there in my three experiences. The prices are reasonable and the drinks are pretty good. But I just can’t get over how bad the food taste and it was not a one-time experience it’s been consistently bad all three times. I unfortunately will not try this place a fourth time but it has become a joke within my family, every time we drive by. We simply can laugh and ask anybody if they’re hungry for some clean soapy rice. I’m really sorry to leave a bad review, but this place is terrible.

This is the best Mexican restaurant around for miiiiiles! My family and I have been going here for years, and more recently it has been the perfect date night place for my partner and I. :) The food is always great, and the flour chips are AMAZING! Great salsa as well. Servers are attentive, and really sweet. Place is clean and so are the bathrooms. Never uncomfortably crowded and their bar is really beautiful too. Definitely recommend this little gem of a place. :)

Food was good and tasted like most Mexican food restaurants. The tamali was pretty darn good. The fresh flour chips When we arrived were really good too. The enchilada suiza was bland. We came on a very busy night because another Mexican restaurant down the road closed due to air conditioning malfunctioning. Service was pretty good considering they were not expecting the large crowd. We would come back if in town again.

No matter how many times I frequent this place… it’s always consistently good! Great food, great service even right before closing they will make you feel welcome. Never rushed and always attentive, even when they are super busy, which is often. I have tired everything at least once on their menu and never disappointed. I love that they have a full service bar, because some nights… I need that beer or cocktail! Down home feel with great food.
