If this place had a negative star button, I’d be pushin’ the hell out of it. Let me give you the run down on the location of this place. It’s on Springs Road… not your best neighborhood. The plus? It’s got a pseudo parking lot… and what I mean by that is you don’t know if it’s the next door store’s parking lot or Meadows Videos, but nonetheless it’s got somewhere you can park and run in to do your business. You walk in, and what I can only describe as a circus(polite description)…or a train wreck(more realistic description) of a business meets your eyes. The sign out front has about 5 different ‘businesses’ so it’s almost like Meadows Video is schizophrenic. Upon entering, looking to your left, it looks like the ‘workers’ are behind a bullet proof glass window and counter, there are glass cases with various and miscellaneous(and obviously used) computer wires and old accessories like receipt printers and random garbage on display. However, Meadows Video is trying to showcase these items and sell them… wow — even Goodwill doesn’t try and sell these types of things. On the right, there is a door with a sign that has some insurance company listed(State Farm or Farmers, I think) — and there is someone working in there. There are various video stands, with foreign and domestic videos to rent… I can’t remember the prices, but they were ridiculous. It was like 2 videos for 1 night for $ 10.00 or something. One word, Netflix. I can’t describe the third world country feeling I got when I walked in. You didn’t know what this place sold or pushed, or specialized in. For me, this place came up when I searched the FedEx website for an «authorized» FedEx center where I could drop my items off with a pre-paid postage label from FedEx and FedEx would then come pick it up from Meadows Video. I dropped it off on 9÷8÷2012, walked in and a guy with glasses helped me — he seemed very uninterested in his job and didn’t quite know what to do with my package. I explained it was a drop off and I needed for FedEx to come pick it up and that this was listed as an authorized hub. He said«ok», pushed the box with his foot into the bulletproof cage. I asked if there was anything I needed to fill out or do. He said no. I left and that was that. Nearly 2 weeks later, I hadn’t heard from the company that I was shipping to, so I decided to look up the FedEx tracking shipment. And to my surprise it said it was delivered on 9÷21÷2012. I thought there was some mistake. I called Meadows Video and spoke with Brandon and here’s how the conversation went: Me: Hello, I’m calling because I shipped something out almost 2 weeks ago via your establishment with a FedEx prepaid postage stamp. FedEx is reporting it got there just today 9÷21÷2012. Brandon: Uh huh. Me: I’m wondering what happened between the time I dropped my package off two weeks ago and when you shipped it out… when did it ship out? Brandon: It probably shipped out a few days ago because we just sent a bunch of things out. Me: Is that regular protocol to wait that long to ship items out? Brandon: No Me: …Ooookay, so your explanation, I’m sorry to say is unacceptable. The contents were time sensitive as I was shipping to a company that gave me a quote for a certain time frame. You took nearly two weeks to ship that out and if they will not accept my items because of your horrendous service and untimely manner, YOUR company will have to pay for the shipment back of my items, because this is your error. Brandon: OK, let me call my manager and I’ll call you back.(He takes my number, I give him my name). He calls me back about 4 minutes later… Brandon: Hello, I spoke with my manager and she said once you drop it off here, we are not liable for the package. Me: How are you not liable for the package if you are an authorized FedEx center? Brandon: Um, my manager will be in on Monday at 10am, she said you can come in then and speak with her. I’mma let this absurd conversation speak for itself…

Your local, neighborhood, runofthemill video store. I like it because this place is one minute from my house. Much nicer than driving all the way across town to go to Blockbuster.
