I have been to a lot of Mexican food places in the area but by far this has been the best place I have been to. The weekends they have karaōke and it’s a great place for kids as well. They also go the extra mile and have security on the weekends makes me feel safer.

The service is horrible at this place. This place is under new ownership but things definitely has changed. Not the same good service as before. The food was mediocre but our server was rude and not friendly at all. I spoke with the owner about her service but he too was also rude and disrespectful.

My Group was excited to go to karaōke. We lasted an hour. Why? The only waitress decided she didn’t want to serve us anymore. We had two drinks and didn’t even get a chance to order food. Disappointed with service but drinks were great.

Slower than molasses in winter an lunchtime. Understaffed. My shrimp were rubbery, probably cooked last Saturday and barely reheated. This place used to be good when it was Jalos. Now it sucks.

Finally found a place that has pozole that I am in love with. The restaurant is always busy and the service is on the slow side. It has always been a long wait for the server to get to your table. They have the best selection of Mexican food. I still have quite a few things to try. I see a lot of families enjoying meals each time I visit. There’s a happy hour as well from 3 – 6:30pm. Music can be loud at times. I can’t even set foot in a chain Mexican restaurant after eating here. This is definitely a hidden gem in Vallejo.

THINGSYOUSHOULDKNOWIFYOUHAVEDINNERATJALOSRESTAURANT My wife and I had dinner here last night. Just like the lunch the dinner was very good. However, there are some things you should know before you come to dinner here. First off Jalos is a FAMILY restaurant. Mexican sit down family restaurants are becoming a rare breed in the Bay Area. For those of you who do not like dinning with kids Jalos may not be the place for you. For those looking for as affordable FAMILYFRIENDLY sit down restaurant this is the place. This service here is great but not fast. The waiting staff is very attentive. However, the food comes at a more lax pace. The atmosphere is lax as well. THEYDONOTRUSHYOUTOEATANDGETOUT. Jalos is the perfect place to go to after a hard or long day at work. You can chill here. Either by eating some comfort food or having a beer at the bar. If you are a soccer fan they have three HDTVs to watch the game. For lunch the pace is much faster. See my previous review for lunches at Jalos. FYI: Two people for dinner came out to $ 26.60 before tip!!!

4.5 stars easy. I rounded up. Even though I missed happy hour, beer was still pretty cheap. I got the chicken enchiladas. They’re a good size, lots of meat, and a chocolate mole. They make their own salsa, both a red and a green, that are both rich with flavor. Hard to tell which one was my favorite. The restaurant itself is clean and friendly. I’ll be back the next time I’m in the area.

Walking in here OMG its too freaking loud, they have some one singing the whole time, you can even hear your self talk or even think lol, Waitress is sweet did her best to make us fell comfortable . Specially for it being busy, she did good multitasking so props too her. Seems like she was doing a lot of the work around the place . Food was quick and soooo delicious and flavor full ! If I’m in the vallejo area again i would defiantly come in again to get a bite to eat, buuuut only if they turn the music and signing down a couple notches.

Nom nom nom… All I’m going to say is «Jaso», you need to keep going on the route that your restaurant is on. Great food all across the menu! I am a huge fan! I went a different route from what others have Unilocaled about and with woth the super wet burrito… Great food and consistent!!! Thank you!!!

This place is so good and super authentic. I consider myself a Mexican food snob and I have an extremely high standard for micheladas but Jalos’ was the bomb diggity! The shrimp with the tajin added a little extra va-va-voom to my drink. I ordered a molcajete which had shrimp, chicken, nopales, a big ol chile etc etc… It came out sizzling with hand made tortillas. I was very sad when I began to feel full. 100% approved.
