Heard good things about this sandwich shop but after trying them out, I’m sad to say that I’m disappointed. Everything leading up to the sandwiches was promising. I saw great pictures, choices on the menu were good, along with the option of creating your own. What can go wrong?! Alright well, I decided to go with the option of making my own sandwich. You get two meats, and whatever else you want on your sandwich and it also comes with a drink. As for my girlfriend, she ordered a sandwich of the menu. The wait wasn’t too long, however we were the only ones there. We pick up our sandwiches and took off. Anyways long story short, my sandwich isn’t very appetizing because it tastes like straight up mustard. The mustard over powered everything in my sandwich. And as for my girlfriend, they made her the wrong sandwich. It was tagged with the right name that she ordered, but the completely wrong sandwich. It wasn’t even busy, so I don’t know how that could even happen. So yeah… It’s safe to say I’m probably not going to be getting any sandwiches here. Especially at $ 9 dollars a sandwich.

Ive been coming here for the past 3 years. During my first visit, I was taken away and couldnt believe the highly appealing aesthetic of this Vallejo location; and the sandwich I ordered was amazing. It’s as good today.

Store — perfect neighborhood market that carries just about anything you need. I also like that if there is something you need that they don’t carry, just let them know and they will add that to their inventory. Deli– they make super yummy top quality sandwiches. All their meats are freshly sliced and have an abundant amount of veggies and condiments to offer along with a wide variety of cheeses as well.

Okay, all these reviews you are reading have merit and are true. The sandwich is really good, and yes, the service is not. If you can get past the service, you will enjoy the sandwich. It’s a little pricey, but the meats and cheeses are really good. Also, they skimp on the meat sometimes so make sure you are really nice even if they are not. I have found that if I kill them with kindness they respond favorable… but, that should not be the situation. They are lucky that have a good sando.

My family has lived in Hiddenbrooke for over 10 years, and I’m there most days of the week, so I am very familiar with J&O’s. They are so convenient when you need a grocery item and don’t want to run all the way to Safeway. But…I really need to speak up about the deli. Over the years, I have found the sandwiches to be hit or miss. The bread is great(Raley’s Napa has the same bread, btw), but the woman(Elsa?) who runs the deli has thee most sour personality! She truly has been awful for the years she has been there. And, you CAN’T SEE what she is doing with your sandwich, which is disturbing. During the annual Hiddenbrooke garage sale last October 10, after a long day of holding a sale, we thought we would grab sandwiches down the street at J&O’s. When we got home and unwrapped, took our first bites, BOTH sandwiches were FUNKY! We opened them up, and the stench was just awful, and made our sandwiches inedible! Into the trash they went. We didn’t complain to the owner(Stasha? Sasha?) as we were too tired that day. I decided since I am a regular face there to just keep quiet, but never, EVER buy another sandwich and warn others. Also, the deli woman is VERYOFTEN sitting behind the espresso machine at the cash register scratching lottery tickets. So often that I wonder what is up. The boy that cashiers there also will not give you the second chance draw ticket that the machine spits out when you purchase a 5 $ Fantasy Five ticket UNLESSYOUASKHIM for it. Then he pretends he didn’t know. Feels like something shady is happening with the lottery at this place.

So, prior to moving to Vacaville, I was in town preparing for the big move.(At the time, I was still residing in South Orange County — Dec 2013) We wanted to try some place new & after a quick search on Unilocal*,the verdict — J & O’s Market and Deli. Note: The deli is located just inside a gated community, little neighborhood plaza, just around the corner on the right after entering. I told the guard @ the gate that we were here to get lunch at J & O’s Market and Deli, without hesitation we were waved right through…(Shrugs) ‘Cool. I guess quite a few non-residents people make the trip to visit this little, local deli. As we drove into the parking lot, I thought… «Hmm, looks like a simple convenience store to me… ‘Let’s give it a try.(Yes, I had my reservations… ‘And it was good!) There were two young ladies standing @ the register when we walked in. As we walked over to the deli counter, one of the young ladies walked over to meet us. She was great, answered my usual wave of, «First time here,» questions ranging from what’s your most popular to what was her own personal favorite sandwich. The order: Ham & Turkey Spicy Italian After placing our order, I walked around the little deli/market, J & O offers a little bit of this & that. I’m sure it’s a great bonus to have for the private neighborhood. It was clean, organized & not overly kitschy… ‘Like most gas stations/truck stops that you find making the 5 freeway drive. ‘Nice little place, I like it! ‘Both of the sandwiches were packed a lot of flavor, ttasty with decent portions as well. J & O’s Market and Deli is a great local deli, located just inside this gated community in a quaint little plaza, just around the corner on the right. — Big Aloha! The chick in the deli is by far the most toxic, negative human on the face of the earth. You will leave feeling poisoned by negativity and angered by the lack of tact and customer service. The sandwiches are good. I love them, but I started making my own at home because of the horrible attitude this chick has, I am a Hiddenbrooke resident but avoid the deli at all cost if that individual is working there. I am certain the sales in the deli will decline if they keep her employed.

This has to be the best sandwich place in Vallejo! Everything is cut to order and very fresh tasting. You also get a medium fountain drink with each sandwich. You build your own sandwich by filling out one of the order slips from the deli counter and then passing it back to the staff. It’s way more convenient then trying to verbally explain what you want. Hint: Make sure to ask the cashier for a punch card to get a free sandwich after 10!

I am surprised that there are so many good reviews. The cashier was bored/rude when she told me that the cappuccino machine was broken and no, she doesn’t know anything about the wines. She was more interested in her boyfriend than helping me get something to purchase. Thanks to Elsie, I didn’t go away hungry. They have good bread but it isn’t veggie friendly. They have good mustard.

It’s true. They do have the best sandwiches in vallejo . Boars head meat, great bread and fresh veggies ensure that these sandwiches are as good as they are. You really can’t go wrong, all the sandwiches are good here. And don’t be shy. If you want your sandwiches toasted, ASK! Grilled onions, ASK! Whatever you want, ASK! It’s a cool little store. It can be pricey but its very convenient. And yes, the sandwiches are really good!

These sandwiches are bomb. Only thing is it comes with a soda and you can’t change your drink. They got an outdoor area to eat. If you are traveling along 80 just take the American canyon exit and go towards hiddenbrooke. Check the hours of the deli first to make sure they open. They have sandwiches you can order or customize your own. Just grab the white paper on the counter and fill it out. Bacon cost extra. I think it’s like 8 bucks for a sandwich and a soda.

The only convenient store by the golf course. They make good sandwiches here. Their poor boy sandwich is good. It has turkey, roast beef, and salami. The lady Elsa behind the deli counter makes the sandwiches to your liking. She’s real nice. Free soda is included with the purchase of a sandwich. I always forget then she’ll remind me. Thanks Elsa! Cash only for lotto tickets.

Don’t sleep on this spot! They got real, meaty, deli sandwiches. My go-to is the Cajun Persuasion. Roast beef, pepper jack, Cajun mayo, horseradish spread. Big portion and comes with a medium drink — $ 8.99 I’m pretty sure all their sandwiches are this delicious. I’ll definitely be back.

Seriously the best sandwiches you’ll find anywhere near Vallejo. Luckily I live in the community, but I’d drive far to get here. Everything else in the store is fresh and the staff is friendly. They even have a little patio with tables and chairs to enjoy your meal at. :)

Nice little deli inside a market in American canyon. Didn’t realize they were there until recently. They make exceptional sandwiches for a good price. It also comes with a medium soda. Sandwich is always made fast.

J & O’s is a neat and organized little market located in Hiddenbrooke. I personally, wouldn’t shop there for groceries b/c 1) A lot of the products are more expensive than what you would find at Safeway/Lucky and well, 2) I don’t live in Hiddenbrooke. In any case, this rating is for their sandwiches. They’re probably the best deli sandwiches in Vallejo. They slice and serve Boar’s Head meats and fresh cheeses. They have a simple menu of sandwiches on a chalkboard above the deli OR you can create your own. They have pieces of paper on the counter that you fill out with what you want from a variety of meats, cheeses, condiments, veggies and sauces. The garlic mayo is good! It could be more potent but it’s still better than regular mayo. Regardless, whatever sandwich I get… it’s always good and filling.
