try their tapsilog and lechon kawali. my faves. super cheap too! $ 4 for a whole meal. they aren’t stingy with the servings either. i wish they’d do this all week long instead of just weekdays.

I love coming here for the all you can eat buffet on the weekends for only 7.99! They have a decent selection and the food quality is pretty good. The staff is friendly… But that PRICE is the main reason I give this place 5 stars! You just can’t beat it.

I was walking around the shopping area to kill time while my sister was at the dentist and noticed they had Halo Halo in the window. Did a quick look up on Unilocal and found out it was reasonably priced. It’s hot outside, why not? Walked inside, it was so dead. Even the workers look bored as they sat around in the back. I walk up to the little podium on the left that was a little too close to a table and managed to see where the cashier was chilling out at. She stares at her hand before she looks up at me. *clip*(I should have paid more attention to this) I order my halo halo, cashier calls someone from the back to go make it, and I sit and wait. *clip* *clip* I glance at the cashiers direction and see she has a nail cutter in hand. Eww forreal? Yeah, so you don’t have the buffet out, but really? Where the hell is your servesafe certificate? I look around and I don’t see one. She sees me looking and stops. or I thought she did because she kept cutting away a little later. But what I didnt know that they take more than ten minutes to make my dessert. Sitting there listening to this lady cutting her nails was almost like water torture, slowly chipping away at my love of halo halo. When it finally came, I took it and walked the hell out of there. It looked good, but I couldn’t get myself to eat it. It was a sad day, a sad day indeed.

Haven’t ordered anything I didn’t like. Silogs for under $ 5 can’t beat it. Service is ok.

Can’t beat $ 4 silogs with sinigang soup! Every time I eat at Ihaw Ihaw it feels like I am at a relative’s house. The best halo halo is also served here for $ 3.75! Want a Vallejo experience? Go here! Feels like home.

It’s a weird place. Walked in there and there was only one other table filled. A lady at that table kept staring at me. The cashier they had was obviously being trained, and obviously didn’t understand any of the food they served. The owner/manager eventually had to come in and school her on some stuff. The food was pretty good but not mind blowing. It’s a bit run down in a ghetto neighborhood, but what do you expect from Vallejo?

So I’ve been here twice and I honestly don’t see what makes it special. Like at all. If you look at the lunch specials on weekdays(the silog menu), you might think«Oooh, what a bargain!» Yes, the price is cheap but you don’t get much at all — in quantity or quality. I don’t really see the value. They have buffet on weekends and I tried that too, hoping that will be what I like about this place. But it’s your average oil-doused commercial kitchen Pinoy food. If you want value, Selecta is only a few doors down and MILESAHEAD in value, quality and class…(like Podunk Nowheres-ville to New York or Los Angeles). Seriously, just a few mere steps determines whether you feast like royalty — Selecta has whole lechon on weekends– or spend the rest of your day with oily soy sauce indigestion(or worse, ahem!). It’s a step up from Pinoy/Pinay down at the other end of the strip mall, but again, just walk a bit further in and you’ll be at Selecta where you’ll get a much better meal experience. Few Key Points, or major ways this place is inferior to Selecta: 1) The owners of both establishments are pretty friendly and welcoming, but when you meet Mang Ray at Selecta, you immediately feel his warmth and the sincerity of his welcome. Yes, I’ve been so many times I know the guy’s name. No, we’re not family or even distant acquaintances. Actually, the owner at Ihaw-Ihaw kind of offended me the day we came in to eat buffet by telling me I needed to pay first before my party and I ate. This wouldn’t bother me if it was their policy. But every subsequent party that came in after us got to chow first and pay later… what’s up with that? At Selecta, everybody pays after. They treat patrons well and they trust we’ll return the favor. 2) Selecta does buffet 7 days a week, kicking it up several notches on the weekends with a whole lechon added. Pimp move. Ihaw Ihaw does silogs on weekdays and the meager buffet on weekends. While silogs are cheap, the entrees are often under seasoned(as in, did they even salt it at all before plopping it in the deep fryer?). Conversely, their buffet items on weekends are overly salty and drenched in oil. 3) And the BIGGESTMINUS against Ihaw-Ihaw: While décor-wise it might look as if it offers better dining ambiance, the sticky tables and floors, the dusty nooks and crannies and the too tight configuration of tables and chairs take away from whatever ambiance they were going for.

Filipino food. Straight up I went here for bfast on a weekday. The place is clean with sturdy chairs and tables. Originally we going to go there for buffet but we found out that buffet is only on the weekend. Were about to leave but that convinced us to stay and try their Silogs(meat w/garlic fried rice and egg for the laymen). I’m glad we did We got three different ones. The portions are big enough that you will be satisfied. We got the pork chop, corned beef, and bangus(milk fish). The corned beef wasn’t a standout. It taste like any other one. The milk fish was good. Marinated well and deboned. The pork chop though was really good. the portion was big and it was battered and fried. The service was good but not extraordinary. We got our food in about 15 min I was hoping to eat buffet but pleasantly surprised on how good the silogs were. For sure i would get the pork chop again. But i would definitely try they other ones. There are like over 10 different kinds so there are plenty of options.

If you decide to order catered food be aware that you will never get your food on time. It did not happen once but twice and I told myself I will have my food catered somewhere else next time. Also the lady at the counter is annoying not to care that the food was late 30 minutes from the promised pick up time.

Love this place! I always get the beef tapa. It’s only $ 4 and comes with garlic fried rice, egg Sunnyside up, slice of tomato, and pineapple pieces. The buffet is really great. I think its around $ 9 for lunch/dinner. There’s a wide variety of food and most of it tastes pretty good.

I have eaten at this dive on two occasions. My personal experience is that this establishment is dirty, uninviting and drab. The staff are rude and unprofessional, and very impolite. I do not recommend this business whatsoever.

I’ve only been in here early morning, eight-ish, and have had their breakfast. It’s all you can eat for about seven bucks. The eggs are a little cold but they make up for it by mixing their tocino and longonisa together and I, as a carnivore, really enjoyed that mix. They had other offerings but I demolished my toci/longsi-log and left very full and very happy. I am a picky coffee drinker so I usually just go with the water or juice so can’t comment on their coffee. The place is a hole in the wall but the staff seem efficient in their cooking and looked clean. The seating area is a little ghetto but I don’t go there for the furniture.

Never going to this place ever again, for several reasons: Me and a family member went there for the first time today to try their breakfast buffet. The place was horrendous. The food presentation on the buffet table was tacky. One tray was propped up by the round aluminum canisters(they must be the candles used to heat up the trays). I went to get coffee and their creamer container was almost empty. An employee refilled it from a large Coffeemate container. I went to get sugar only to find the plastic sugar dispenser to be real sticky! The food was typical: fried rice, fried eggs, sausage, tocino, champorado, two types of fried fish, monggo beans, pancit, and as we were leaving, they added stewed beef(not beef stew; they served nilagang baka). I have older family members and asked if they had senior discounts. The cashier said they couldn’t afford to offer it as of yet. That was cool. However, they have a sign that says that you can eat as much as you can, but don’t waste food(I agree), else there is a $ 2.00 fee. Really? First time I heard of a buffet that will charge you more if you get more food. Should I just pick and choose and leave all the fatty food items on the buffet trays? What if I was unfamiliar with an item and decide I didn’t like it? Tacky sign, all in all. There’s more. We drove home right after and lo and behold, we started feeling nauseous and light-headed. There was this bad aftertaste. It was either from too much MSG or worse, food poisoning, as both of us had the same symptoms. We hardly ate anything after that the entire day. Twelve hours later, we still have the bad aftertaste and my family member had an episode of diarrhea. Never going to this place ever again. After this horrendous experience, why chance it? As the 1 star describes it … «Eek! Me thinks not.»

Still a fan of this place, but bummed that they stopped doing their buffet during the weekdays. They only offer it during the weekends now. I think they have some kind of BBQ plate for the weekdays now.

I haven’t been to the restaurant, but got a chance to try them out at the Pusong Pinoy Fest over the weekend. So this shall reflect that experience and I can’t speak for the location. Here’s a tip: Always show up to a Filipino event hungry! — That is what we did. While we watched the kwintangan player we noticed Ihaw Ihaw setting up shop nearby. They weren’t fully up and running, but they had some items for purchase. We grabbed some Cascaron(bitsu bitsu) to munch on while we waited. My kid was really diggin’ it(don’t all kids like bitsu bitsu?). I liked that the glaze seemed more homemade than I normally find at other places. A man nearby said«Hey! Where did you get those?!» and ran straight over once we pointed the direction. *fast forward* The smell of barbecue really started to hit us as we wandered around the park. Making our way back to Ihaw Ihaw we grabbed some combo plates to share. We picked up some menudo(Filipino style — nothing like Mexican style), lumpia shanghai, rice, and barbecued meats. The menudo and lumpia were OK, but the best was the barbecue. Juicy, not too saucy, smokey… my stomach is growling thinking about it. The service was really friendly. It was almost like going to a family lawn party rather than a tent at an event. And the prices were very reasonable — $ 4 — $ 8 per plate.

2 stars for their«ok» quality of food, cleanliness, and price. I came here for lunch earlier and there were about 11 different buffet choices. Nothing really looked that appealing so I decided to play it safe and just get the Kare Kare, a few pieces of pork sides, sisig, and ginataan for dessert. The Kare Kare lacked vegetables and its consistency was too thick for my liking. The pork sides were literally all fat so yeah, gross. The sisig was surprisingly quite good and I had 2 bowls of it. Lastly, the ginataan was average, although I think I would have enjoyed it more with more tapioca and less taro. One thing I will say about this restaurant is that their food is not hot. I did like how during my visit, they brought added freshly cooked servings to the hot trays. You can’t expect much for paying $ 7.99 for a buffet since again, you get what you pay for. Overall, I had an ok experience but I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
