I’ve been coming to this place since I was a little kid. Honestly, nothing has changed. I usually always get a whole chicken, burrito, and tacos. This time I felt I should try something different. I ordered the taco salad and it was GOOD and very fulfilling! It’s something to share because the portion is just HUGE! I barely ate half of it. Unless you’re starving aha. Minus 1 star because the wait can sometimes take forever when you’re at the drive-thru.

This used to be our family spot to eat at and we used to eat here regularly, at least once a week. For at least the past year it’s been going down hill. They stopped serving breakfast, rotisserie chicken is always dry, so dry that, I don’t know why they would count it as a piece of chicken. They seem to be cutting a lot of corners now, which has made the quality go way down, nothing seems freshly made anymore(mashed potatoes and their rice are not the same as it used to be a few years back, seems like instant potatoes now). Quality goes down and prices went up, I wouldn’t mind the price if it was good. Customer service really sucks, especially if I tip, make sure my order is right, especially when I’m in the drive thru. If I’m ordering tacos don’t forget to put taco sauce in bag, especially if I asked for it. Nothing like driving all the way home, ready to eat tacos.BAM.NOTACOSAUCE. it ruins the whole meal, Then I have to drive all the way back, did I mention I TIPPED them to make sure my order was right and the guy told me my taco sauce was at the bottom of bag, but that’s right I shouldn’t trust anyone, I should of checked the bag myself. So not only has Chicken Express gone down hill, they seem to give you the hassle and rudeness because of their wrong doing, very Poor customer service. This is sad, because I once was a loyal customer.

I heard it used to be called Chicken Spit, only because the chicken is cooked on a spit… It’s delicious. Ask for the green hot sauce and just pour it over everything! Delicious and always fresh!

I decided it was time to check out Chicken Express, again. My last visit, 9 months ago, didn’t go well. I must say, the chicken taco salad was the«bomb» It was very tasty, fulfilling and I, appreciate the quantity I am back, as a satisfied customer. Thank you!

I have been coming here forever but the last 2 times I’ve been here I have been grossed out and I will never be back again. The last time I was there a cockroach was crawling on the seat of one of the booths. I feel bad writing this review but when I told the person working about it they just shrugged it off.

Pretty good, been coming here for years eat the tacos as fast as possible because they will get soggy lol, I came here one time and I asked a lady can I get verde sauce, she said«the red or the green one?» I thought it was a joke but it’s all good lmao

I really enjoy chicken express. Their rotessiere chicken is always hot, tasty and delicious. Super chicken burrito is usually my go to! I must admit the burritos can be a bit pricey compared to the burrito trucks but I can assure you ain’t no other chicken burrito around like the ones they have at chicken express. When my appetite isn’t quite as big I just drop by for a couple tacos. They used to be 69 cents back in the day but now they’re closer to 1.50(with the sour cream extra) but they’re super tasty and so I don’t mind coughing up the extra change. Taco salads are a big hit for many but not really my thing. Oh, a must is their taco sauce. That stuff is like crack. I drain my burritos and tacos in it. They’re open pretty late, till midnight which is convienient! My only two complaints about chicken express is that they don’t serve horchata and that sometimes the drive thru line can take forever to get through. They serve cake and cupcakes too. I always get their red velvet cupcakes. Always super moist!

We always come to the drive through for their chicken tacos with sour cream. Their tacos can be delicious when drunk and with la vics hot sauce if you have it. My boyfriend really likes the their hot sauce with the chicken tacos. If I were to describe them I would say they’re pretty basic with the lettuce, tomatoes, a hard/soft shell, cheese, and shredded rotisserie chicken. Service is never bad here I would just rate it more if the food was more amazing. But for sure I’ll come for a quick snack but it wouldn’t be my first go to.

Stopped here because I was in the area and was passing by. Very cheap prices and great food! We got some tacos and sides and they were so yummy! You can’t beat the value at this place.

We’ve been coming here for a long time and the crunchy chicken tacos are good. However, the price has gone up and the size has gone down. Each Crunchy Chicken Tacos is $ 1.39. I wouldn’t mind if the size of the tacos remained the same as before. Also, the filling is not consistent. On some of the tacos it had little lettuce. Service is always great. When they’re not too busy, you will get your order fast. In the evening, their drive-thru is always busy. We prefer to go in and order. Parking is small but I always find a spot.

I have been getting chicken here for 20 years and have really enjoyed it but I have a couple of comments for management 1. Value — not as good as it used to be. I understand food and labor costs have gone up but to be honest if there were an El Polo Loco in town you would have to up your game. 2. In the drive through this afternoon I ordered an eight piece combo. What we got was more like five pieces. Yes I know it was 5:15 and the drive through was busy but never the less we got less than I paid for. In addition what constituted the fourth piece was a chicken leg with half the meat missing and the fifth piece was a mangled of breast meat which was little more than the backbone.

Nothing special here. Simple food, cheap ingredients. The breakfast burritos are at a fantastic price. $ 4.00 for Chorizo, eggs, beans, and potatoes. If the food was higher quality, as in it doesn’t taste like Cisco product, I would have given it a higher rating. Perhaps hand made tortillas? House-made beans? Freshness of any sort will give Chicken Express a much needed elevation.

«Chicken Express, how can I help you?!» Haha! I’ve been here more times than I think I’ve been to any other eatery in Vallejo. The freaking best. Chicken Taco Salad with an extra ranch on the side please! I need to get my hands on a Costco sized bottle of their taco sauce too. I always ask for a ton of it when I’m there because I put it on everything at home. Seriously, I have a drawer full of that stuff. If they started serving quac they would be killing the chicken game.

Just spoke to the manager Laura about my experience. I am so unhappy with this place. I’m supposed to get another burrito to replace the one they gave me but I don’t think I even want that. Let me start with the communication issue. I’ve been going to the chicken express in Fairfield for years so I know how to order my specific order. «A super chicken burrito with everything, and an order of sour cream». If you say a «side of sour cream» they will put it on the side and not charge you the $ 2(ridiculous price) for the extra sour cream. So when my husband ordered the food, I told him specifically what to say while he was in the drive through, I also heard them repeat the order back. She repeated ” …with everything, and an order of sour cream”. So I felt confident that I would get what I wanted. He also ordered 2 tacos and they gave him 4. Again communication. I know the tacos come in 2, but he didn’t. So when he asked for 2 tacos he wanted 2 tacos, not 2 orders of 2 tacos. Communication! So when he gets home and I didn’t see my extra $ 2 sour cream, I just knew they got it wrong. Yes, I take my sour cream serious! Its just way too dry for me! I’m Nicaraguan, we eat it with everything! So when I want extra, and you give me NONE, I’m not eating it! So at this point I’m annoyed but I decide I’ll call over there and ask them to get my name/number so I can get a burrito another day. Laura, the manager, tells me that they didn’t charge me for the sour cream and that’s why I didn’t get it. I tell her, I know I wasn’t charged but that’s not my fault. I’m happy to pay for it, but they repeated my order correctly, so I should have been charged. After going back and forth about if it was the correct order, I tell her its obviously a communication issue. I didn’t feel like arguing anymore so I just said can you just take my info down so I can get it another day. She proceeds to tell me that she will do that but I need to bring back the burrito. I said I won’t be back today, you really want a week old burrito? She says yes she needs it back. Even when I’m about to get off the phone she said, make sure you bring the burrito… Whatever take my trash… Then she says she won’t give me a side of sour cream since I didn’t pay for it. I told her, I ordered it, you guys repeated it, its not my fault you didn’t charge me. Why couldn’t she just comp it for all my trouble? At this point I’m just mad I’m arguing over sour cream! I told her how about we just get off the phone and I’ll do what I gotta do. So here’s 5 min of my life I won’t get back because of chicken express vallejo! I’m so done with you

Been coming to this place for a long time now. I usually get their chicken tacos. Their buy one, get one deal. I always get the one with everything on it. I also get the chicken burrito and sometimes the whole chicken. The place isn’t so fancy but the food is always so good. There are certain days and hours when the line on the drive thru is long. I like that they stay open late.

Chicken Express is perfect when I want some rotisserie chicken with a Mexican twist. You practically can get rotisserie chicken elsewhere, but what makes this place different are the staples that come with your meal. I absolutely enjoy their rice, beans, and tortillas with my chicken. Funny as it sounds I’ve never had anything like it and it just made sense. It’s not the best looking place as it appears to be a little old and run down. Parking lot isn’t as large and can be difficult to maneuver when their drive thru is busy. Their drive thru service isn’t as fast either as my experience took more than 15 minutes. I’ve never tried their tacos and burritos, but that’s probably something I’d try on my next visit.

Essentially a taco-bell reborn as a small local chain. One look at the very neutral salsa in the single pasty-white flour taco bombarded by shredded letttuce flooded my mind with memories of Macdonalds, KFC, BK, and every other big chain ‘restaurants’ that caters to the lowest common denominator. The chicken taco was pretty bland with no punch, though I must say the chicken taco salad was better; I can see that it would make a very apt hot summer’s day salad as it was pretty refreshing and none of the the ingredients looked sad or withering. I had a bite of the BBQ chicken sandwich and we both agreed that the BBQ sauce was a mite too sugary. I didn’t try the rotisserie chicken, which, apparently, they’re known for. Vexed am I, as I vacillate between the thought of trying the rotisserie chicken, and the thought of actually going back again.
