Barut Roberto DMD

Dr. Barut is a certified Denti-​Cal General Dentistry provider. So, I decided to give him a try since other dentist’s and/​or groups in Vallejo such as SmileCare on Plaza Drive received poor ratings and nightmarish experiences by others.
My first visit with this provider on 50 615 proved to be a less than stellar experience. First, I will acknowledge that I did not have to wait very long at all and both the female at front desk and Dr. Barut were cautiously friendly and somewhat professional. But, they were very quick to judge and dismiss me after reviewing my medical history and the questions and concerns I had regarding their protocol. This could simply be a result of cultural differences. Either way, they both made me feel very unwelcomed and uncomfortable.
Dr. Barut has been practicing for over 30 years. His office is small, quaint, and somewhat clean. The problem is his paperwork process, dental equipment and tools, and the administration of treatment is outdated and archaic. You won’t find cutting edge dental technology here. X-​rays are still taken with slides manually frame by frame, no gum measurements were taken, he failed to completely scale and clean my entire mouth and only chose to debris tarter from my inside front lower level teeth. While I pride myself on excellent dental practices at home, I asked about this and he indicated that it wasn’t necessary as everything else «looked okay.» Excuse me!!!
In over 40 years of receiving semi-​annual treatment all my life, I have never had an office not provide a complete full scale cleaning and polishing or not taken gum measurements alongside with an annual exam.
The experience left me feeling very disappointed and receiving incomplete treatment. Regardless, this could be the result of the type of insurance I have, his over extended length in the industry or just simply a matter of not caring about the health of his patients. I will not be returning and do not recommend this provider.

Stay Away This dentist isn’t worth the energy, or the time it takes to make an appointment. The waiting room lighting is so dimly lit that you need to fill out your paperwork from the other side of the counter. Also the counter is so small and cluttered with unnecessary pamphlets, tissue and other crap that you can’t fill it out there either. The lady at the front counter is Mrs. Barut and her personality is that of a unfriendly alligator so approach with caution. I could go on but will stop here and just advise you again. Call a different dentist.
