Great food, friendly staff. It’s casual yet the food is amazing. It’s fun for the kids to see the trains pass by. Everything is railroad-themed. It’s a little pricey, but worth it!

Drinks and apps at the bar with a friend, I found this place to be reasonably-priced and fairly decent. Definitely bar food,(i.e. HEAVY/cheesy), but with some nice flavors.

Valhalla Crossing is conveniently located next to a top CPG so it makes coming for lunch and/or happy hours relatively easy. I’ve had a variety of sandwiches/salads amidst their bar-type fare and they’re good. not great, but still satisfying. The portion size is really nice, but I still find it to be too overpriced for my liking. The environment and interior is clean and seems comforting, but the temperature is way too cold inside during the winter, at least in the booths where you can glance at the passing metro north trains, so be prepared to eat without removing your jacket.

Food is just ok– service is awful. Do not sit in the caboose-low ceiling and temp either too hot or too cold. Also the restaurant is loud but not in a good way — Lots of families with children literally running around.

I only came here with friends once so I may change my review if I have time to visit again. The ambiance of the place is very cozy and inviting. The restaurant itself is clean and has a sultry yet family-oriented vibe. The waiter we had was young and very friendly. The food was a little slow but it was busy so maybe it was just an off day. However, the owner(you can tell he walks around constantly) was a little awkward and had a snobby demeanor. He didn’t smile at all or even bother asking everyone how they were doing. Just sort of walked back and forth frowning. Maybe it was just a bad day for him. I will update my review if I come back and see a difference. The prices were a little insane for the food. $ 13 for nachos? $ 15 for a burger? These are city prices. I was disappointed to see the price range but the menu itself had a small but nice variety. The burgers here are very juicy and good. Definitely worth a try if you have the extra money. I wasn’t impressed with the nachos(big portions but the chips were soggy) or the calamari(bland) but the chili and wings were also good. Overall, pretty happy with this restaurant. I hope the next time I return I have an even better experience.

I just moved to the area and this is a must in then area. I’ve been twice now and both times I’ve been excited but completely underwhelmed. I see the great reviews and really wanted this to be my monthly place by the train station. Sadly, that is not to be. The first time we tried the corn fritters and both us us felt it was just ok. We ordered pulled pork and a basic burger. After we left, we both felt gross internally, and we hadn’t even eaten half our meals! I am not sure if it was the fried fritters, onion rings or French fries… maybe it was just too much«fried» altogether and we were not used to it. Either way, we were not in a rush to visit again. Second time we went as a friend wanted to. My boyfriend thought his Philly cheesesteak was pretty solid. I got the pulled pork again — just to make sure I gave it a fair chance. Nope-just ok. It also didn’t help that when using the bathroom the toilet holder top fell smack on my head(it was held together by tape). Sigh. I have to disagree with all the Unilocalers on the food and only go back for the beer.

Spiked milkshakes were AWESOME! The veggie burger was enormous. Food and drinks were priced appropriately! The waitress took a little longer than normal but the overall experience was great. The place was very busy on a Thursday night so we were accepting of the fact that the dining process took a little longer. Definitely will be coming back!

Took our 3 year old son there for dinner. He loved to see the trains go by. They sat us right next to the windows so he could see them. Food was pretty good. There was a good variety of burgers, sandwiches, pub food, appetizers, salads, and entrees. Prices were quite reasonable as they averaged 12 – 14 for burgers and sandwiches an 15– 22 for entrees. Would definitely go back with my family over a diner any day.

We arrived and were immediately seated in a tiny little room where we could barley sit down without hurting the diners next to us. The waitress came relatively quickly to take our orders, and we got our appetizers. The calamari was bland, but the nachos were good. We waited for our entrees to come for over an hour, and were severely disappointed by what we got. The burgers were not good considering how easy it is to make a decent one, and the chicken on the Santa Fe salad was as hard as a rock. Overall the service and food was bad, but the employees themselves were very nice. The restaurant seemed understaffed and unorganized. Will not be coming back.

Great service, good food, big portions moderately priced. This place may seem small from outside, but when you get in, there are plenty of room inside. They also have a bar section on the other side so it’s a nice separation! Food is pretty good. We sisters always get lemonade when we visit restaurants and I have to say this is one of the best lemonades I had. Their portions are pretty large, and you can always get your food wrapped if you are full! Also the cheeseburger sliders are really good :)

I would recommend only if you are into frost bitten frozen entrees. I returned the food and even the wine. It was turning into vinegar. Food was horrible. This is a job for Gordon Ramsey. They desperately need his help.

It’s okay. The food is good and the location is nice, but actually getting your food takes FOREVER. Don’t go unless you have hours and hours to kill.

The food was good even though our two burgers took over 45 mins to arrive. The owner gave us a free beer though so I can’t complain about that. She was kind and seemed to care about her customers.

Burgers were great but my philly cheese was the best. Huge, enough to share. Fries and onion rings on point. Love the atmosphere of the bar. Definitely coming back

I came here for a school event and was pleasantly surprised by the welcoming atmosphere! I didn’t even realize there was anything like it close to campus, but I’m glad there is. The menu consists of standard bar food fare. The portions are extremely generous, and the sweet potato fries were a hit! I can’t wait to be back to try more of their menu items! Tip: park across the street at the train station parking lot — the smaller lot in front of the restaurant is really difficult to maneuver in and out of.

Every town should have one of these… Located 3 min. from home Valhalla Crossing provides comfort food at its finest. Cozy and comfortable — from the bar area across to the dining area — we’ve found service to be prompt and friendly at all times as returning customers are recognized. And the food is enjoyable and reasonable. During recent visits we’ve shared three(3) appetizers which was enough for the two of us. Highlights include the Kung Pao Calamari(a must try) — The New Orleans Corn Fritters is always ordered. The Pizza options will not disappoint. The Burger Sliders — juicy & tasty. The one setback — The Traditional Nachos which is overloaded with cheese. Coming off Metro North — Valhalla Crossing is the perfect impulse meal in the Mount Pleasant area. Again — Every town should have one…

it’s eh… atmosphere is nice, but doesn’t compensate for an underwhelming experience. We go here once a year and every time we come back, we think«eh» and don’t go back for another year. So for our latest experience, we started with the truffle-LESS«truffle mac and cheese.» Then had some wraps, they were okay. They my wife then secretly told the server it was my birthday. The waitress came out with the $ 8 dessert and a candle and left. Not that I need people to sing, but it would have been nice. Also, not that I needed a complimentary birthday dessert, but then the sting of paying of the $ 8 dessert makes me think it will be some time before we come back again. All is all, its okay… Nothing terrible but nothing great either. There are plenty of better places to go to in the area.

2.5 stars, but location gives it the extra .5. The food is average and the servings large. The menu is just huge and if they narrowed it down the food might just be awesome. The chicken tenders for the kids is way crunchy, so be prepared to cut it down to chewable sizes for the little ones. Friendly service, great for kids. Prices a little high, but I guess it’s the large side of fries that come with your sandwiches or burgers. Believe me when I say These are Manhattan prices. You can get a burger at the meridian for the same price.
