My bff and I went to Six Flags yesterday and after a morning full of screams and thrills, we got hungry, but we didn’t want to pay a ridiculous amount of money for some crappy burger and soggy fries. So my bff Unilocaled and found Tri Tipps. He saw a picture of mac & cheese and it was already decided we would go there before I could even say«let’s go». We ditched Six Flags and drove to Tri Tipps, which was about 15 minutes away. Btw, you are allowed to leave from the parking lot and come back ONCE. So if you’re cheap like me, eat lunch outside of the park. There are many good restaurants right outside of the park, including Tri Tipps. This place is very simple. Go in, order at the counter, get your drink at the soda fountain, sit down, your name is called, pick up the food, pray, and eat. The food was wayyyyy cheaper than Six Flags food(of course) and I can guarantee it’s 10x better. I had the bbq steak sandwich with fries. My bff had a bbq cheese steak sandwich? The reason for the question mark was because I really don’t know the name of it, but was like my steak sandwich, except with cheese. He subbed his fries with mac & cheese. When the food came out, I thought my sandwich was kind of on the smallish side, but that was just my hunger talking. I was definitely full after I finished the sandwich. The bread was really good. It was nice and soft and it tasted like they put garlic butter inside and toasted it a bit because it did have a crunchy texture and garlicky taste to it. The tri tip was tender and flavorful. There are bbq sauces at the table and also seasoned salt. You can also find Sriracha, ketchup, Tapatio, and other condiments by the soda fountain. My bff enjoyed his bbq cheese steak sandwich. He said his mac & cheese needed a little more salt. Other than that, we were supremely satisfied at the food and not paying $ 40 for food at Six Flags.

Yummy. I am not a huge BBQ person so I wasn’t jumping up in down about going here. I got the Philly with Texas toast. Very filling. Why the 4 stars is cause they are a bit pricy. Dinner for 2 $ 27.

Quick and delicious bbq. Tried the tri tip beef sandwich — very tender/moist and flavorful. Only took a few mins from the time we ordered to get our food. And the MAC&CHEESE. SODARNGOOD! Has to be the best Mac I’ve had in awhile! And they got it! Definitely will come back. This has my vote over Rattlers & Lucille’s.

This place is the best! Everyone is super friendly and the food is delicious. I recommend the Tri tip salad, Santa Clarita sandwich or the best burrito of my life. I come here so often they remember my brother and I and say hi.

Not a fan! Terrible customer service and only okay food. I would rather drive across town and go to Dickies BBQ

Legit. Can’t make it all the way to Firestone grill in SLO? Looking for a great Philly Cheesesteak?(It’s kinda small though fyi) but tasty. Tri-tip sandwich is legit. Sauces are legit. Onion rings are legit. 2 Legit to quit.

Great food, authentic BBQ taste, modernm yet divey look of which i love, they even servce a few beers, I had their tr tipp sandiwch all it needed was meat and the bbw sauce at it was deliciouss, the california sandwich was also very good, I tried the«best burrito you will have» but didnt like it too much, too americanized as far as ignredients go, this is not a burrito, its a wrap, with tri tipp in it, was decent but i would only come here for the tri tipp sandwiches. 5 stars for the taste, fair pricing, and aesthetics, also the customer service was pretty good.

Best tri tip sandwich I’ve ever tasted. The meat is abundant and tender, as opposed to abundant and dry in other sandwich places. I always get the one called da bomb(if I remember correctly). It has jalapenos and other spicy condiments inside, complementing the buttery bread and savory meat perfectly. I like the contrast of flavors and the spiciness somehow helps me finish the dish, as it is a bit large and filling. If you want quality, filling tri tip sandwich, this is the place to go.

First time here today but it definitely won’t be my last. I ordered the BBQ sandwich. The bread was perfect, meat was tender and delicious and the BBQ sauce was just right, not too sweet, not overwhelming at all. I will definitely make this one of my regular lunch spots.

I am always looking for a great place to pick up a delicious dinner at a good price. Decided to try Tri-Tipps. Picked up the #3 family meal– 2lbs meat, 4 Lg sides for only $ 34.99! I also added a half a lb. of pulled pork, full order of breadsticks, & the TriTip salad. I was feeding a small crowd. It truly was a great value! Everyone was pleased and beyond stuffed. Tri Tip was delicious(no BBQ sauce needed) Pulled pork was great. Bread sticks & salad were also good. I think their mash potatoes are supposed to come with gravy, they forgot to give me gravy and we felt they needed it. The Mac n’ cheese & cole slaw were just ok, definitely prefer Stonefires Mac. Overall we thought it was very good especially for the great value of the family meal and the fast and friendly service.(Sorry for not including pictures, was too hungry to even think about it… lol)

Hesitantly came here with a vegetarian but so glad we did because their macaroni and cheese and fries were delicious. This carnivore had their tri tip sandwich and it was apretty good. They offer an assortment of condiments including four types of bbq sauce at every table, which made our meal more interesting. Their prices are extremely reasonable and I will definitely be coming back!

Santa Clarita sandwich is a delicious meat sandwich on some Texas style toast. HIGHLY recommended. Pricing is fair, restaurant is clean, staff is friendly. My only issue was with the fries. They’re just your average fried frozen fries. I feel like this business could offer a better potato! The food is so good here — that side doesn’t do your sandwiches justices. Great place! Very delicious! Support local.

Always look forward to eating here! Best tri tip sandwich I’ve ever had! Cooked and sliced to perfection. I love their Mac N Cheese and baked beans also! The guys are super friendly and the food is ready quickly or you can call in ahead of time to have it ready. Can’t beat it!

I am really disappointed. What I ordered: –Santa Clarita Sandwich w/fries –Side of Onion Rings –Cesar salad w/chicken Despite the great reviews here, my expectations dropped when I received my food way too fast. I knew there was no way my food would taste fresh after being served that quickly. This sandwich was ALL bread. Texture wise, the outside crust of the garlic bread was soft even though it has the look of being grilled and crunchy. Overall, the bread was mushy. When I first bit into it, it tasted like it was reheated. The little amount of Tri Tip included was not great either. It didn’t taste like BBQ. No smokey or grilled flavor present in the meat. This place is a BBQ joint, no? I had to drown my sandwich in the BBQ sauce to make it seem like BBQ. The side of onion rings were good but only came with 7 rings. Seriously? You can’t call yourself a BBQ joint just because you serve meat and BBQ sauce. My wife had the salad and she had no complaints but nothing to rave about either.

Let me say first, the food was excellent. Santa Clarita sandwich was excellent, my husband got the tri tip and rib platter, which was also great. To management: Having to use a key with a giant spoon attached just to wash my hands after eating BBQ is not cool. The key got stuck in the lock. We paid $ 35 dollars for our lunch and shouldn’t be treated like we are at a gas station. Aside from that the food was great and they were very attentive. Just get rid of the keys!

One on the best bbq Tri-tip sandwiches in SCV. The roll is so soft and the meat is incredible. I highly recommend you try this place if you’ve never eaten their food. Staff is always friendly and give you the feeling that you are important and valued. Friends recommended this place to me after they had an order messed up because of the way they handled the problem. You can tell a lot more about a business by the way the way take care of problems than when things run smooth. These guys go above and beyond to make things right.

Yum yum yum! I’m not sure why it took me so long to come here. I love BBQ and have an odd obsession with Dickey’s despite living in Castaic(read: driving by here every day!). So my first trip I got the BBQ Tri tip sandwich combo(with fries and a drink). Set me back a little over $ 10. I love that they have the salsa bar due to the BBQ/Mexican combo they’ve got going on. Love me some japs on my BBQ sammy! French fries were a little soggy, I’ve like to try another side next time to make this 5 stars. Love the Cattle Ranchers sauce!

Great tri-tip with a great flavor. We came in on Saturday at lunch and got the Santa Clarita sandwich. This tri-tip sandwich is served on garlic Texas toast… do I need to say more? If I do my family wanted to come back on Sunday and said they thought about it all night. Go here.

Fair. Had the famous Santa Clarita Sandwich with a side of fries. You could never go wrong with Texas Toast(Garlic and Butter, generally, wins … every time). My only qualm is that I had an unorthodox ratio of bread to stuffings. The portions of my toast dominated my little itty bitty portions of tri tip, bacon, cheese, and veggies. I was a little disappointed, since their tri tip was seasoned well and tender, that I left feeling robbed! The toppings bar was also awesome. Great selection to add a little spice, salt, or sweetness to your meal. I appreciated their BBQ sauce. My personal favorite was the Pastor. Loaded with, what I presume is, Cumin and Achiote? That added a wonderful spiced contrast to the garlic butter. Otherwise, I like Tri Tipps a lot. They have other items I look forward to trying, and I definitely recommend this if you’re in the area.
