I had a great experience here and am surprised to read the previous reviews. I saw both doctors at the office and they were both awesome. Aside from immense kindness and some appropriate humor, I felt the eye exam was incredibly thorough. I already had reading glasses (from a different eye doctor) that I have never worn because they were never right. Not only was reading more difficult with the glasses than without them but trying to wear them caused me intense migraines. After my exam with Dr. Barton, I can see! Boy! It is amazing how you don’t realize how messed up your eyes have become until you can see again. While I cannot speak for more significant issues that others have spoken of, I can say that if your age is starting to catch up with you and you need an eye exam — and especially if you, like me, need different strengths for each eye — I would highly recommend Dr. Barton.

I was just in Dr. Barton’s office, I found him and his staff to be very professional. he girl who does the glasses stayed late just to get my glasses ordered. I found Dr. Barton to be a bit of a comedian which help me to feel more relaxed. So far I am very happy with the process. He is what I expected and more.

My husband had a Cateract removed by Dr. Barton 4 years ago as his cornea was scratched. We were referred to Dr. Helm and my husband has had 3 cornea transplants and his other Cateract removed (no problem and his eyelash was not cut off like Dr. Barton) with Dr. Helm. With all these problems I am surprised Dr. Barton has not had a lawsuit.

My wife had the identical experience to the prior review. I would definitely go to another optomologist. Dr Helm is excellent. I feel Dr Barton is no longer up to date.

This is an update to my post of ⁹⁄₁₁ re: Dr. Barton. He apparently does not
want to remove cataracts and seems to be telling patients they need to go
to UCLA. He should be investigated as an Opthomologist.
I subsequently went to Dr., Craig Helm on Tournament Road in Valencia,
had both cataracts removed successfully with no complications (Dr. Barton
said I was at high risk for complications and had to go to UCLA).
Helm Vision Group is a state of the art facility, very impressive, organized,
friendly, eye surgery center is in the same building. If anyone needs to
have cataract surgery, go to Helm Vision Group. DO NOT GO TO DR. BARTON,
THERE IS NO COMPARISON WHAT SO EVER HE MAKES YOU UNCOMFORTABLE
AND IS A REAL ODD BALL DOCTOR.
