This is definitely not the best food. My family came here for the sandwiches and were greatly disappointed. I had the chicken and artichoke lavash, which was covered in cheese and had tons of cheese within the sandwich. It was also not even on flatbread like the waitress stated it was. It was encased in a tortilla which was then so heavily grilled with cheese that I ate two bites and refused to eat anymore. My sandwich came with broccoli salad that was ok, but nothing special. My husband had the chicken salad, but even that was missing flavor. My children had the French dip and spaghetti. Do not get the French dip! Ugh! It was lacking seasoning. If they are serving that as part of their catering they should reevaluate their business. The best was the spaghetti but the noodles were overlooked. Overall, this place is a bust!

The hot chicken salad on croissant… just get it. It was the best chicken salad I’ve had and while I normally don’t like mayo based salads hot, someone next to me suggested it and I’m so glad I listened. Also, the chocolate silk pie was delicious and a perfect way to finish out a decadent lunch. Even the fruit on the side was a great mix. My coworker had the key lime pie and I thought that was just average. Great lunch spot — will definitely come back next time I’m in Valdosta!

As a professional wedding photographer I eat catered meals almost every weekend. I am always happy to see the Covington’s vans pull up. Food is always ready on time, and tastes great!

Our office conducts a monthly meeting every first Monday of the month. This is one of our favorite places to have lunch catered from. They have amazing food. You can’t go wrong with anything off of their menu. Just make sure you save room for dessert… the French Silk Pie is awesome!

Top quality service! Pat and company arrived and took control of the house in an efficient and friendly manner. Everything was set up perfectly and the party guests were well fed and taken care of. The food was OUTSTANDING! From the ham biscuits, the stuffed mushrooms, to the lemon, blond, and fudge brownies. Everything tasted fresh, well tempered and seasoned. If I were living in the Valdosta area, I’d be using Covington’s often. Nice folks.

We regularly have them cater lunches at the office. Favorites are the chicken divan, lasagna, and beef tips with grilled peppers. I also have one desert every birthday. One. It is a French Silk Pie from covingtons! OMG it’s the bomb. I need one just from writing this. Can’t overlook that Covingtons is a family owned and operated small local business! Stan and Sue Cox are awesome and Amy, their daughter, is just as awesome in taking care if your needs from a simple lunch to a fully catered event for 300 people! Seriously they are one of the only place in town that I would trust a large event too.

This review is for their catering service. My Mom used Covington’s to cater a lunch party and from what she told me, they were great to work with and she was able to pick and choose menu items and even add on a few extra plates at the last minute. So the customer service was really wonderful. And the 2 ladies who served the meal were fantastic, very courteous and on the ball. The downside was the food. The main course was to be a hot chicken salad on a croissant, unfortunately the chicken salad was no where near hot. When I took a bite, some of the chicken was slightly warm and some was completely cold. Two bites and I was out. The cheese & chive biscuits were like little hard hockey pucks. The fresh fruit and grilled asparagus were fine. The lemon bar dessert was worthy of only a few bites. What I did like was the squash casserole, I was still hungry after the meal and wish I could have just had an entire plate of that. And kudos on the sweet tea not being overly sweet. The price was right, I believe around $ 15 a person and service was very friendly. I would just urge someone using the catering service to stick with cold dishes, then you shouldn’t run into the problems we did.

It is all I can do to not order the lasagna every time I go there, but I decided to try the shrimp salad plate. It had an adequate scoop of shrimp salad in the middle, along with congealed salad, a cinnamon roll, fruit including strips of pineapple, honeydew and cantaloupe, along with a few grapes and a strawberry. Very nice presentation. My only issue with it is I really didn’t consider it shrimp salad. It was small, apparently thawed from frozen shrimp with a tad of liquidy mayo and celery. It wasn’t bad… just not what I consider shrimp salad of any kind. I had sampled their chicken salad at a catered event and thought it was wonderful(and I’m very picky about chicken salad), so maybe my expectations were a bit high. Still won’t keep me from eating there 2 – 3 times a week.

I remember their chicken salad and cinnamon rolls most of all. They do sweet tea well, too! I’ve never been disappointed by a dine-in, take-out, or catered experience from Covington’s. If you’re in downtown Valdosta, you should really give them a try. This is Southern food… but not the usual fried, barbecued, boiled veggies kind of «Southern.» I always try to stop in when I’m in Valdosta.

Clean, modestly elegant and the food is what I would describe as the ultimate Southern tearoom dining experience, from décor to deliciously dated southern service. Broccoli salad was best I’ve had on a while. Wild mushroom and wild rice soup creamy, but not too heavy… and delicious. Chicken and artichoke lavash done to perfection. Well worth the extra 7 minutes to get there from I-75.
