Chubby’s Chicken Fingers & More

I decided to check out a new place for lunch today. I’ve heard good and bad things and I wanted to check it out for myself. As soon as I pulled up, there were three cars in front of me (waiting on their food) and one lady waiting at the front window. I ordered the Chubby Box and proceeded to pull around to wait. The three cars that were ahead of me where done in a matter of minutes, but I had to wait for them to cook my food. Since I wanted everything hot and fresh, I didn’t mind the wait. I got my sweet tea (which wasn’t the best) and the manager? apologized for the wait. The workers there continued to check on me throughout the wait and apologize for the wait.
Throughout the whole process, I will say that the staff was super friendly and continued to make sure that I was okay. But the wait, which ended up being 15 minutes or so, and the quality of the food (chicken was ok, everything else, not so much!) wasn’t amazing. I probably won’t be heading back here, but I hope that they do work out their time issues. I would love to visit again and see business being better than ever!

Ordered food for my family of 6 via the Eat 24 app. I should’ve checked the Unilocal reviews prior to ordering as I would have drove to purchase food. However, I figured EAT 24 would handle the situation if something goes wrong.
After an hour of waiting the restaurant called and said their driver had an issue and the food would be arriving «shortly». Also we were assured that they would be remaking the food. 45 minutes later, there is still no food. After checking in with eat24, they were told it will be another 10 minutes over a period of three times. (This means 10 minutes came and gone 3 times) After waiting 2.5 hours total & checking in with the restaurant and being told «it’s on the way» decided to cancel the order and go down the street for food.
Finally the driver showed up with the food and we communicated that we canceled the order via the app. Keep in mind this is now almost 3 hours after ordering food. The gentlemen who delivered the food did say the manager expressed their apologies and wanted us to have the food for free. Although the the gesture of free food was nice we had already gone to purchase food from a fast food place. It’s hard to keep 3 kids waiting for food for 2.5 hours. Still delivering the food and offering the food for free to make it right the Is the ONLY reason why they are getting 2 stars vs 1.

Waited in the drive through for 30+ minutes after paying. I don’t have anything else to say that is suitable for public view.

So I was out late and hungry and I see a new Chicken place in town. Cool stuff for sure even though I almost passed it because even though the place is suppose to cater to a late night crowd the sign wasn’t lit up. I pull in and after a pleasant chat with the cashier girl I placed my order for a couple of chicken tender platters. I indicate what sauces I want on them as well as what I want as side sauces. Pull around to the second window and wait for about 15+ minutes because they needed to drop fries, no problem but I was told 5 minutes that turned into closer to 20 but I guess there was no rush to them sense I was the only customer in line. Would have been nice if they had maybe given a drink refill or something but whatever. So I Finally get home and prepare to dine on what I was hoping would be some nice buffalo tenders and what I got was a big ol’ box of disappointment. How it all went wrong, let me count the ways…
First off they didn’t sauce the right meals, put the side sauces on the tenders and left off the other sauces and instead threw in ketchup. Maybe not a big deal to some but I wanted the side sauces to try on the side before ruining the tenders because I didn’t know if they would ok and surprise, surprise they weren’t good.
Second issue is the «Tenders» were all pieces of tenders and only 2 real full pieces of chicken between the 2 platters. Also what they call «big» is the same size as Zaxby’s so don’t let the name fool ya.
Third they were tough and dry… overcooked. So tough in fact that my dog gave up on the piece I gave him. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want any rubbery undercooked salmonella special but these things were as dry as the Sahara and that’s with them being covered in a «wine and cheese» sauce.
Really just poor tasting all around. Sauces (The ones I got) weren’t good at all and seemed more the cheap bottle stuff. Chicken was bland with no flavor and seems like they really don’t season the chicken or the flour. Fries were bland except for the couple that had all of the seasoned salt on them, it’s almost like they took 3 fries out of the boxes and dunked them in the salt and left the others alone.. Lastly that garlic bread… overkill with the garlic and burnt on one side.
All that said my Coca-​Cola was good but I drank all of it waiting on my fries to be done while the workers were having a dance off in the kitchen. Seriously… they were dancing and joking around.
I know this place is aimed more for the late night crowds so overly caffeinated College kids and drunks who don’t care what the taste is like but still it was a real let down for the price. If it’s late night after the bars close or you’re up studying for an underwater basket weaving exam and you don’t want Taco Bell or Krystal’s then this will do for you in a pinch because you probably don’t care about the taste or care if it’s the wrong order.
If you’re out for a good fast food meal however then go to Zacadoos, Zaxby’s or Chic-​Fil-​A.

Great wings but the service and wait time are terrible. I mean it doesn’t take 15 minutes to cook 10 wings. It’s ridiculous.
