This place is a shack. Literally. I know it says it in the name, but I was still kinda side-eyeing it when we pulled up. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good dive, so I was ready to grub. I tried to order a cocktail, but was told they only have beer and wine. Pinot or Cabernet, you might be wondering? Nope, I was told«red or white». Okey dokey. The wine was awful. I do mean awful. I’ve seen it sold at Rite Aid. For true! Thankfully the food was pretty good. The fried oysters were just what I wanted and they were tasty. My daughter got the crab legs, because she’s fancy and she thinks working hard and eating with your fingers is fancy. It is not. But she loved her crab legs just the same. I also got a side salad. It was a decent size and surprisingly good. Service was friendly-ish and quick. I wouldn’t make a trip to Valdosta to eat here, but if I were in the area I might would go again.

Real sketchy crowd with overpriced seafood. I decided to get to go because they crowd looks like locals from under the bridge. Left there with 2 meals clocking in at 40 $. That isn’t awful for seafood but when it’s a small portion of fried junk I wish I just went to publix for seafood. I would avoid unless you are just desperate for that nasty fried feeling

We went here on our way through from Atlanta to Orlando. The food was awesome and the atmosphere was casual and relaxing. We had a shrimp basket, kids’ chicken fingers, a blue crab po-boy and a crab cake sandwich. The food tasted very fresh and the portions were generous. Our waitress was super sweet and attentive(loved the southern hospitality). Other employees also came and checked on us.

We decided to stop in here on the way to Atlanta. We are from Louisiana and have high expectations when it comes to good seafood. Well, this restaurant has the BEST seafood that we have ever had other than in Louisiana. They really know how to season and cook like they do in Louisiana. It was the first time I’ve ever had good seafood at a restaurant other than back in my hometown. The staff is very friendly and very welcoming. Highly recommend!

We truly LOVED this one! A nice bar-atmosphere hole in the wall, with exceptionally good seafood. We went all out and enjoyed overeating at this one… Well worth the food coma that came after!

Very nice roadside restaurant with a wide selection of fresh seafoods. We had the soft shell crab sandwich, peel and eat shrimp, grits, and a side of hush puppies. The service was very friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere was fun in a casual, laid back way. Our seafoods were all fresh and good quality, but I do wish they’d lay off the salt a little bit! The garlic butter with the shrimp was the saltiest thing I’ve ever had – after one try, I couldn’t eat it any more! Fortunately the waitress brought some cocktail sauce(also very salty) and some tartar sauce. The grits were good, but the hush puppies were just ok – sort of doughy and not very flavorful. But my companion was very pleased with the soft shell crab sandwich. All in all, a decent meal at a good price.

The fried oysters & coleslaw were the best I’ve had in a long time! Our second time stopping here & we will definitely come back!

Great place to eat. The waiter was great. Loved the food just not big on fried crabs.

Very cool roadside eatery, clean and ample outdoor seating. Was served a nice plate of soft shell crab on a «po-boy» bun. I’m really getting annoyed with that term, by the way. I think I’m going to start saying«sandwich.» Anyway, it was all good!

If you’re traveling on Interstate 75 through Southern Georgia please do yourself a favor & stop at Bubba Jax Crab Shack. You will not be disappointed at all! From the food to the service it was a great & somewhat surprising dining experience. We had the alligator tail, fried, grilled, & blackened fish, fried oysters, a few of their sides including my favorite the cheesy grits. Coming from Southern Illinois, grits don’t happen there but the cheesy grits here were incredible! Get them and you’ll leave full of cheesy southern grits goodness. They are the best I’ve ever had. Trust me & many of the other reviews & stop at Bubba Jax Crab Shack. It really is THAT good!

Is this place heaven on earth? YES! Lived in Chicago for 3 years and I’ve forgotten how amazing the food is down here. I literally wanted to lick my plate. It’s such a dive, but that made me like it even more. The epitome of «southern cooking» I will surely miss this place when I go back.
