Can’t say enough great things about Terra Bistro. While vacationing for our anniversary, husband made a reservation here because of their great reviews, location, and gluten free options. We were so spoiled and attended to by our server, Vvladimer, and had so many delicious courses! Highly recommend the Thai beef lettuce wraps(although they said they were back on a trial time period), curry mushrooms, and of course their house-made quinoa. Vlad even surprised us at the end with a beautiful display of their homemade orange chocolate chip gelato… To die for! Great views and floor to ceiling window… Magical setting for watching the snow fall in front of the mountains.

This is a lovely restaurant, esthetically. It is not really family friendly. We had the worst looks bringing in children from other diners. Our kids are 15 and 8, not like bringing in toddlers. The food is wonderful. It’s really pricey. The wait staff can be pushy. Seemed to be trying to get the tables cleared to bring in next group. I was little put off by that. If you’re going for a romantic dinner this is not a bad choice. Just don’t plan on it being a long meal.

Amazing ‘appy hour deals! We went for happy hour on the mountain from 5 – 6 pm. This was more than enough time to order two glasses of wine and one of everything on the happy hour menu. We used happy hour as our full dinner for the evening. The meal(some highlights as we ordered much more) Deviled eggs– 5 Gnocchi– 4.5 Salmon tartare– 5 sliders– 5 Truffle fries — 5

Service was overly aggressive. Server and busboy tried to take drinks, salad before I finished and I had to say something to both of them. Trout came with kale that was sandy. When manager asked at end of meal, I told her about kale. She seemed to have heard it before but only offered free dessert on next trip to restaurant. Bad service considering prices.

When you go, the waiter is going to be knowledgable, the food is going to creative and amazing, and you will pay a penny for the experience. The drinks are mixologist craft quality. It is a small seating area with good ambiance. It is right next to Gore Creek so come early to take a scenic walk or stay late to walk off dinner. We saw moose when we walked it!

It’s vail so I cannot complain about the price, but the food was only average honestly. The cocktails were amazing so I am giving this place four stars for that reason alone. Service was good too. Just need to bring the flavor up a level on their menu.

Met visiting family at the Terra Bistro for dinner. Had reservations and we were seated promptly. The service provided by Vanja and his team was excellent. We started off with the lentil bread and it was fantastic. The meal just kept getting better as each course was brought to us. Our table enjoyed the Vitality salad, glazed salmon, pork dish, and quinoa. Everyone loved their dinner and agreed that the service was exceptional. Excellent flavor from the fresh organic ingredients. We were so impressed with Terra Bistro. We will absolutely be back!

This place gets two stars because the ambiance is ok and the bartenders were good. However… we also went for NYE(last minute) and were appalled my the prix fix menu. At $ 195 pp even in Nye one should expect some high quality, well prepared, Appropriately temped food. Each course was a bust. It felt like a scam honestly. I would be embarrassed U.K. Serve that food at $ 50 a person. A prime example of the valleys over priced under delivered reputation. Go to sweet basil, mountain standard, or spago.

Don’t let the location in the lobby of a hotel dissuade you from going here! My party of three made a reservation here on a Friday night around 8:00. We were glad we made reservations, as most of the tables were full at the time we arrived. Our waitress brought out complimentary flat bread and a lentil dahl spread that was delicious, though it reminded me more of something you’d get at an Indian restaurant rather than one with more of a new-American feel. Though it seemed at odds with the rest of the menu, it was great. I ordered the seared skuna bay salmon as my entrée with a side of crispy brussels sprouts with walnuts. The brussels were awesome and there were enough for the three of us to share. The salmon was cooked beautifully but the marinade was a bit strong. I LOVED the vegetable ragout that came with the salmon. I would definitely recommend this restaurant in Vail. The portion sizes were perfect, our waitress was super friendly, and the atmosphere was great(we loved the lights that were strung from the ceiling!).

When I called to make a reservation the woman was rude and unhelpful but I went in anyway. When I got there Margine«the evening manager» was so impolite with accommodating us and reminded me that I was the one who called. She proceeded to school me on the seating process like I was ignorant. She recommended that we wait because our reservation was far the current time. We immediately walked out and went looking for another dinner venue I shortly got a call from her where she continued to argue with me and tell me that I was tricking the system? what system, I wanted a good meal at a recommended place in Vail. She should of just called and apologized. She claimed she has been working in the Restuarant industry for 11 years and have never had anyone with issues with her. I find that very hard to believe. I am in the service industry and have never encountered a manager as rude as her. We won’t be back and will tell everyone to steer clear of this place. Sweet basil is great though and the service was amazing compared to my experience here.

Awesome spot for Happy Hour grub and drink specials. I was a big fan of the kale chips, but I definitely think it takes a certain taste bud :) we also had the mini beef sliders. At first, they came out sorely undercooked, but when they came back the second time they were great! Drinks were mixed to perfection and the bartenders were friendly as can be. I’m sure the full dinner menu is good as the place was packed when we left.

One of the very best restaurants in all of Vail. This is a hidden gem that we’ve been to several times over the years. Don’t pass this up!

My sister found this place as she has dietary restrictions(gluten free) same with my brother in law. Eating with gluten free diners can be difficult sometimes but Terra Bistro nails the definition of healthy, organic and gluten free eating. The food was outstanding everything was perfect as described on their very detailed menu. Although it’s no longer on the menu(as they constantly update the menu) I really think they should bring back the Lamb Ravioli w/cranberries — as this was one of the best ravioli i have ever taste in my entire life. Perfect flavors excellent meal! The staff was exceptional, from our hostess to our server, who I believe her name was Emily. When searching for a bottle of wine — she let us taste a few and then select a winner bottle of wine… What great service we had — we will def. recommend this spot to other locals in Vail and visitors from afar. Near perfect dining experience thanks so much Terra my tummy and taste buds thanks you.

Over priced and over rated Food is bland and service was slow. No frozen drinks. We had trout and baramundi both were fine, nothing to write home about. The hangar steak flat bread was good. I’d save your money.

What a great restaurant in Vail. Had a good sized group here during Vail’s «mud season» and loved every bit of this place. The food was excellent! I had the bison which was delicious. The art on the table provided tons of entertainment for our childish adult group. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone visiting vail!

Decent food. Regretting i didnt try their mountain trout cuz saw the review seconds later after i ordered my food. Ate the steak and oyster chicken and thought food was good, bit above average; but, not over the top. Steak was ok. Will review the chicken: Teriyaki Chicken was cut in oyster size, middle was soft kinda reminding me of oysters. Pickled watermelon crust were a interesting touch but too sweet for me, sauce bit milky that had a great balance overall with the corn bread. At the end, too sweet to eat it all for my palate.

Wow, so good. Had the scallops, 10oz pork chop, and passion fruit sorbet. Everything was amazing. The scallops had a bacon jam, my god. Pork chop was juicy and amazing, had an apple cider reduction. Yum. Passion fruit sorbet was amazing. So tart and awesome. Also had two glasses of the malbec. Was good. Atmosphere was nice, service time was perfect.

I can see why Terra Bistro is my friend’s favorite restaurant in Vail. The service is impeccable and the food is excellent. We shared the vitality salad which had wonderful texture and flavor. My entrée, the duck, was multi-layered, perfectly prepared and served with a flavorful risotto. We also shared the ciappino appetizer. This was very tasty, although served with less broth than normal. My friend had the barramundi fish course which I tried and was also delicious. We finished with the molten chocolate cake which is a must. Wine service is extensive and the sommelier is quite knowledgeable. We had a wine from the Douro region of Portugal which was excellent albeit on the pricey side. Overall a great dining experience!
