Vacaville Construction

Vacaville Construction did some work for my family and we were extremely satisfied with the work that was performed. I also had a front door installed at my personal residence at a very affordable price. I have 3 words that describe James and his crew, CRAFTSMANSHIP, CRAFTSMANSHIP, CRAFTSMANSHIP. I have several other home projects that I will have Vacaville Construction perform on my home. I recommend Vacaville Construction for any repairs or home improvements.

I had Vacaville construction take down a couple walls and remodel a master bathroom. James and his crew did a great job and completed the project within his estimated time. James was great at providing daily updates and would quickly contact me if an issue came up. Only a few minor issues came up during the job and James did not nickel and dime me to make an extra buck. I would definitely recommend James and his Vacaville construction crew for any job big or small.

James was recommended by a friend when we needed to raise a dog dope a few inches (mastiff problems). I will say James was a little slow in getting an estimate to us and for scheduling the work. We weren’t in a hurry so we weren’t concerned. He did arrive promptly when it was scheduled.
James was very courteous. What impressed me most was how he was providing guidance and life lesson for what was obviously a young apprentice. Their work was great and reasonably priced. I asked him to bid another job and have not heard back.
In short: great work, good price, a little slow on response.

Based on consistently positive Unilocal reviews I called James of Vacaville Construction to schedule an appointment for an estimate to build a free-​standing deck in my backyard.
James was courteous, polite and professional on the phone and I ended the conversation feeling good about my choice of contractor. And that’s where it ends.
Our appointment was scheduled for a Friday at 6:30pm. 6:30 passes. And then 6:45. And then 7:00. James and his partner/​co-​worker (?) showed up at around 7:30 and told my husband they had been playing golf and lost track of time. Oh, James also said he had tried to call me to let me know he was late, but as I originally contacted him from a blocked number (my work number) he was unable to get ahold of me. In my opinion, the guy smelled — strongly sour– like he had been drinking all afternoon. I didn’t mention this to my husband during the visit, and afterwards, my husband goes, «Man, I think that guy had been drinking.»
Okay, so the contractor showed up approximately one hour late and seemed like he had been drinking all afternoon. Based on those strikes alone, we weren’t going to hire him, but figured we’d look at the estimate (promised to us within one week) just for the sake of information.
The icing on the cake? It has now been 12 days since our appointment and I have not received any estimate whatsoever.

VC made our dreams come true by building our staycation this summer. Their crew is nice, professional, and talented. I highly recommend this company. We’ll use them again for our next home project. Here is a video of before and after.

I met James about 2 years ago to do a remodel on my home. He put in new floors, scraped the ceilings, opened a doorway up, painted, new baseboards and more. The whole thing only took 2 weeks and came out GREAT! People always want to know who did the work and I always tell them how great and trustworthy James is. Since the remodel, he’s done many other jobs around my house for a fair price and great work! I highly recommend Vacaville Construction!

We called Vacaville Construction when our water heater broke. We were very impressed with James and his work. He was very professional and fixed our problem fast and for a good price. We will definitely use them again.
