Digger’s Deli… is the BEST… When I take my grandsons to lunch… they prefer Digger’s over the fast food places! Everyone is SO friendly, and I always feel at home! They are even willing to make half sandwiches for the kids! The sandwiches are DELICIOUS… and service«out of the world». Great place… which I would highly recommend! The Best deli around! All of the employees and owner GIGI are outstanding!

First and last visit. One turkey sandwich and one San Pellegrino(plain sparkling mineral water). $ 12 and some change. –The amount of turkey in my heinously overpriced sandwich was insulting. Bad enough to where I contemplated getting up and asking for an explanation from an employee for my sorry excuse for a sandwich. If someone would have come over and asked how everything was, I would have given them an earful. –I ordered the«Mini Mae» which is supposed to be turkey, avocado, sprouts, mayonnaise. I told them I wanted lettuce instead of sprouts and that I wanted provolone on it. Out comes my sandwich, with a shred of turkey, provolone, and way too much shredded lettuce. –Half way through one half of the sandwich I realize there’s no avocado on it. Zero avocado. For the price I’m paying for this pathetic sandwich I want my damn avocado. So I take the sandwich back to the counter and explain the situation. A girl tells me she will fix it and she does. She put avocado and seemed to add more obnoxious lettuce to my already over-lettuced sandwich. Not good. –The bread situation. I got my sandwich on Dutch crunch. I normally love Dutch crunch but holy cow, this was too much bread, too hard, too chewy. I know your bread comes from some bakery in Napa and you love to talk about it being delivered daily but something is just not good about this bread. If it’s seriously as fresh as you say then this bakery really needs to improve its recipes. However, the whole insane lack of meat thing trumps the bread issue. Why are you guys SO stingy with the meat? You charge and arm and a leg for a sandwich, when people pay that price they are expecting something special or at least proper ratios. I was beyond underwhelmed which is exactly why I had to leave a review.

I haven’t been to Digger’s in years, but decided to give them a try again. I had heard they had new owners. What an improvement! I went after the lunch rush thankfully. I tried the artichoke sandwich. Yummy!!! It was huge! I couldn’t even finish half. I noticed that they have lots of sandwiches that are healthier options and can’t wait to give the Solano Spa sandwich a try. I’ll definitely be back!

As a long time resident of Vacaville I’d like to say that Digger’s is at the top of my list for sandwiches and the like. I have been going there for years and have always been treated politely. They have always gladly prepared my order with my ‘customizations.’ They offer numerous discounts such as military and seniors among others. They are welcoming and polite. They are also easily accessed by the handicapped(this is important to me, as many places claim to be accessible but really aren’t!). I highly recommend this place and I love the fact that I can get a real sourdough roll for my sandwich and my favorite root beer! My wife and I both love eating there and will go out of our way to eat there. They cater too!

A great place to stop for a different breakfast. Try Gigi’s Breakfast Casserole — very tasty and a change of pace from the standard bacon and eggs. Great staff and great prices.

Washed out gross dining room Store bought sides which have been ‘gigi-fied’(why pay for store made if i could have bought it at a store and added a couple ingredients for cheaper myself?) Bland baked ‘goodies’ that are also just store bought Employees seem irritated or like they just have something better to do than be bothered to make me a sandwich This place has no atmosphere, it has this cafeteria-like unwelcoming vibe and they had been playing outdated country music on an almost inaudibly low volume, then again the entire ‘digger’ gimmick is completely outdated. Ingredients seem somewhat fresh, although the bread is also store bought and they don’t slice the meat in front of you which makes me question where this ‘deli’ gets its meat from, or how long its been sitting in the make line which is kept on the other side across the counter(apparently so i cant see what your doing??) Overall this place making a joke out of what a deli should be, I wouldn’t be surprised to see this place on kitchen nightmares though i cringe to think what is actually going on back there.

I want to give this place a shout-out. I am impressed with this business, the customer service of the staff, and the quality and deliciousness of the food served here. I couldn’t be more pleased. I was tasked with having a meeting hosted in Vacaville, and not being very familiar with restaurants in the area, I spent a good couple of days researching places that could serve up a party platter for about 20 people. I found Digger’s Deli very quickly via Unilocal, and the reviews convinced me that this would be a pretty good place to choose. Well, it ended up being more than a pretty good place. I first reached out to the deli via one of the e-mails on the deli’s official website. Never got a response. So on the first opportunity I had to come visit Vacaville to begin meeting preparations, I came in for lunch. And I became, then, a fervent fan. The interior is not all decked-out and fancy. It’s not a La Bou’s or Beach House Deli. But you’re not there to consume interior decorations. There was a good line of people at the counter waiting to put their order in. I had time to glance around and look at the menu, and I ultimately settled on the Mini Mae — a sandwich with turkey, avocado, sprouts, and mayo on a white sourdough bun. It came with a small side salad or stuffed egg. I chose a small macaroni salad. It. Was. YUM. The Mini Mae is one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. The only thing I would do different would be to put it on a sweet roll instead of sourdough. I loved it. And I am not a sandwich person at all. I had to come to town a second time to continue with meeting preparations. I came with a co-worker, and I suggested to her that she try out the deli so I could get her opinion on the place. I forgot what she ordered, but I ordered the Postman Panini — a sandwich served hot. It has grilled chicken breast, pesto mayo, provolone cheese, red onions, and tomoatoes. It usually comes on sliced sourdough and is then grilled — but I asked for the sweet roll. And i got a small side of macaroni salad again — I loved it that much the first time around! This meal. Was. Even. BETTER. So it was done. This was the place that we would order our party platter from. I ordered sandwiches, asking for enough to feed 20 people(ultimately it ended up being enough to feed maybe 30 – 40 people!). I ordered two pounds of the macaroni salad and another two pounds of the red potato salad. The staff were excellent to work with and had great customer service skills, taking time to address questions and concerns and even modifying the order when needed. All in all, I can’t say enough about this place. I wish it wasn’t so far from Sacramento!

Today was my first time to Diggers. We found it here on Unilocal after a big long hike at Pena Adobe. When we arrived and seen the«Voted best deli in 2015» sign out front we figured we were in good hands! Both of us got signature sandwiches(Creekside Chicken & Marvelous Maple) which were amazing! We also got the red potato salad and the tomato & cucumber salad which were both delicious. The place is super cute and the menu is huge! Can’t wait to come back!

I hope the owner sees this review and improves her customer service and process efficiencies. I came in at 11:45 am on a Wednesday afternoon. There were 2 workers making sandwiches and as I stood to order, no one even acknowledged me as a customer for a good 2 minutes. Finally one of the workers told me she would be with me in a moment. Another 7 minutes pass and literally no one takes my order and no one bothers to even talk to me. The employee faithfully pressing her sandwich could have taken my order but stood there watching the sandwich presser. This is about employee training and it’s obvious that the employees weren’t trained well. I looked around at the customers sitting down and it was obvious that they had been waiting a long time and I knew that I couldn’t wait another 20 minutes for my lunch. I walked out and ordered a sandwich at Journey’s. Your product may be good but how will a customer experience your product when delivery and service of your product literally stops them? Please take the time to read customer input because I always root for local businesses and I want to see this place do better.

My daughter and I just went to Digger’s Deli and bought some sandwiches to take home. I ordered the Tuscan and it was DELICIOUS!!! It was hot, juicy and had such great flavor! My daughter ordered the Solano Spa and liked it. She just wished there was more cranberry. Overall though I was impressed! I will be back!

Gross! This place has gone to total crap! It’s disgusting. Filled with lazy workers and old food that should never be sold. It is filthy and the cutting boards are cringe worthy. STAYAWAY unless you want to get sick. It should seriously be shut down.

The food filled me up as much as a meal of the same cost at Denny’s. The thing is, it isn’t a sit and serve restaurant, so it shouldn’t cost as much as one. Taste-wise, I was underwhelmed, as I thought it would have tasted better for the price I paid. The interior was dimly lit, and not in the soft warm way some restaurants are. There were also a bunch of drinks and supplies still in their shipping packaging out in one side of the public/dining area. The environment just didn’t feel comfortable. That’s fine in a fast-food restaurant with fast-food prices, but this place is almost twice as expensive as Subway… and most Subways I’ve been to felt cleaner and more comfortable. I like to support small independent businesses over big franchises, but I’ll only come back to this one if they up the quality of their product or lower their prices. The two stars given were based on the friendliness of the person who took my order, as well as the cashier who collected payment. I can see that their morale is a bit high, but it didn’t quite make up for the lackluster food and steep pricing. UPDATE: So I’ve become a regular here, as I play at the local gaming store in the same plaza weekly. I’m adding another star, as it seems like they’ve upped the portioning of the sandwich ingredients. I’d like to add more stars, but that seems to be the only one of the several issues I mentioned in my original review to be remedied.

Super delicious! The bread is really fresh and the vegetables are crunchy and yummy. They have a ton of sides you can get too. I got the small pasta salad and it was the perfect size. Really fast, great price, and super filling. Loved it!

Awesome customer service! The owner, Gigi, Yolanda, and Mike were all very friendly, personable, and helpful in answering all of my questions and assisting in choosing what to try. — «Mahalo for the aloha!» Group selfie — I figured, I’d surprise everyone with sandwiches from Diggers Deli.(That’s tough to do when people are über-picky BUT I try.) The shop is located right off off of Alamo at the corner plaza, sharing the same lot as Big Lots, the Rose Garden Thai restaurant, and Journey’s Coffee Shop. Store front — It’s a nice quaint deli with lots to offer, from sandwiches, sides, snacks, and drinks. Photo — The order: Postman’s Panini($ 8.99) — Photo — Marvelous Maple w/added cream cheese($ 9.99×2/Extra cream cheese $ 0.99×2) — The Marvelous Maple had good flavor but found the bread to be a bit too hard and surprisingly, «chewy.» 8/Bummer. I had requested a sh’mear of cream cheese to be added to both sandwiches.(If you like cream cheese, the next time you order a BLT ask for a dollop to be added to your sandwich. It’s a great combination of flavors!) The Marvelous Maple comes with a big @ss roll.(i.e. — A lot of bread) Prepare for lockjaw! It really throws off the meat to bread ratio. *See photo below Photo(Detail) — Traditional potato salad($ 2.09) — I do love a good potato salad, this was okay. Red potato salad with sour cream($ 2.09) — Okay; mom makes the best Mac salad(FREE sample) — Okay Photo — Total: $ 34(With a 5% discount) The ticket — I really thought that this would be a solid 4 star rating but after taking everything into consideration, 3 stars. I can’t in good conscious add another star when the overall average is a solid three.(Even after I was given the FREE mac salad sample and the 5% discount.) Sweets & snacks — Digger’s Deli has a guh’roovie vibe, I liked it. I could see stopping in every now and then to try one of their different sandwiches maybe even for breakfast. However, at $ 10/sandwich, I expected a bit more meat, like a side of beef.(Just say’n.) Sandwich Specials — Moon Pies — I’m a huge advocate in supporting local businesses and Digger’s is exactly one of those shops! I do appreciate their personal approach, the aloha, and great customer service. ‘Being from Hawai’i, meat is what I want and A LOT of it. The portions here were alright, enough meat to build a decent sandwich but for the $$, it was«just okay.»(I expected more bang for my bucks.) Mahalo Gigi, Yolanda, and Mike for the aloha! A hui hou!(Until next time!) — Big Aloha, DJ Food: 3 Ambiance: 3 Service: 5+ Value: 3
