Don’t buy plaster sand from this company it’s not true plaster sand it’s play sand we were told by our stucco finisher it wasn’t the correct sand and when we called castle and King to inform them they were rude about it and not willing to make it right it’s a shame because we used this place a lot and referred people but not anymore!

I’ve been here a few times and have enjoyed every experience. The lady who works at the counter is quite nice. This place looks like it’s just for big contractors, but they provide excellent services for a basic homeowner like me. You can take little samples of things home if you want to test rock colors or whatever. Best of all, you can buy materials at $ 3 per 5-​gallon bucket for small projects. I just drive my little sedan back into the lot with all the giant trucks and fill up a 5-​gallon bucket! But when we did order a large load for delivery, it was delivered promptly, and delivery is free if you order enough (I think 2 or 3 cubic yards). This place has made my landscaping projects simple and inexpensive.

I sent my tech to get one third yard of concrete, we received a yard of concrete. I received a phone to pay 100.00 plus tax. Once I told an employee there I spoke to Donna and she quoted me at x amount of dollars. Donna got on the phone, she was very rude and demanded we pay for the yard. I told her I would call her back. I talked to my tech he said he requested one third of a yard. I got back on the phone with someone there again, she said Donna was speaking to my tech. I told the employee I would not tolerate Donna being rude to my tech. She was very rude to my tech and pretty much held him hostage until a payment was received. One employee told Donna the my tech requested a third yard of concrete. Once I talked to Donna again, she said there was misunderstanding and agreed to take the payment we were quoted. I will never use this company again. Donna you are a supervisor you should set an example to your employee’s. Being rude and demanding may work at home but not in the business world. The issue was resolved very rudely.

My husband called for a large rock order and asked for «3/‘4 — 1 ½» inch rock. Nobody told him that rock doesn’t come in between those sizes. They delivered the «¾» inch rock and dropped 4 yards without my husband seeing it. All of the rock is smaller than ¾ an inch and not what we were expecting. Nobody explained to my husband about the difference in size.
We had ordered 8 yards and so my husband told them not to bring the additional 4 yards. When he called, the staff was extremely rude and didn’t care that what we were delivered wasn’t what we wanted. The owner then got on the phone and was just as rude.
I came home and called and as soon as I gave them my name was told, «We are done talking about this.» I got on the phone with the owner who yelled at me while I was polite, yet firm, with him. He then called me «Sweetheart» and was condescending and absolutely didn’t care that we were unhappy.
In addition, since they wouldn’t take the original 4 yards of rock back, we needed the remainder delivered. I confirmed with the owner that we wanted the next 4 yards. We waited at the house for it and when I called to inquire about it, was told that they had brought it back to the yard. Finally they delivered it again.
While the price was better than some other places in town — the staff and owner were rude and took NO TIME to explain to my husband about the rock sizing. This was a significant order… $ 700. it was wrong and the attitude we were met with was «too bad.»
It’s far better to pay more and get the kind of service I’ve received at Sun-​Ray.

Called around, these folks had the best price and were very friendly. Delivered within their time window, and the gal who delivered (forgot her name) was very good. Nailed the landing (dirt squarely on my tarp) and was very nice to my toddler letting him look at the dump truck up close. Overall would definitely use them again for large landscaping projects!
