What can I say? I first attended Jacobs when I was 13-years-old in 1980. To this day I continue to return as a professional and as a parent of two campers this summer. Who can forget… Letter Day Fried Chicken Gumpert’s Ravioli eating contests(now banned) Shabbat grays The PA system The bowling alley under the Pierce Center The swimming pool under the Oolam Pool Aleph Pool Bet Pool Gimmel(still there!) Jacobs gave me the desire to study to become a rabbi and continues to inspire me to this day!

I know I am biased — I am, after all, the camp director — but I, too, think Jacobs Camp is a GREAT place!

I agree with everything Cori said. I still miss Jacobs even though its been almost 10 years since I last stepped foot there. From seeing old friends the first day, making new ones, and I can’t forget the pancakes and Herbie burgers. Some of my best times were spent here over the five summers I was there, and I will never forget those. Thanks is a great word to use for Jacobs. I was also surprised by this being on here though.

Um, I can’t believe this is on Unilocal. What can I say about HSJ? What do you say about the place where you spent 13 summers of your life? About a place that still comes to mind first everytime you smell fried chicken? About a place that you still can’t explain to everyone else? About a place that gave you your oldest friends, that still has you singing the wrong lyrics to songs, that still makes you laugh at jokes from 15 years ago? About a place that helped raise you? I guess you say, «Thanks.»
