I usually get the same thing every time. Gyro with feta basket. As far as that goes it is my favorite place to get a gyro. The Iowa state fair gyro has nothing on the flavored or teds Coney Island.

My gyro was spot on. Fresh, flavorful, and yummy! I had a lamb gyro and I don’t even like lamb. You can’t smell the lamb or anything, so that’s awesome. I really like how this place is super clean.

Good gyro, but it didn’t blow me away. After that, it’s just another fast food joint. Clean but not much in terms of service. The woman at the counter seemed irritated that I was taking so long to read the menu. No offer of suggestions when I said it was my first visit. I’m not sure why but she would bring out some food to people and other people had to come back to the counter when their food was ready. Likely depended on what was out into the tip jar. Being a bit generous in my 3 stars but most of my disappointment was the waitress.

Ted’s has great classic diner food options along with great newer options. Their gyros are super soft and possible the best in town. The baklava is ok, but not amazing. But the service is always spot on.

I grew up on coney island so to me cant go wrong, Im use to going to the one on ingersol but I have stopped into this location a few times, always clean always friendly nice staff. Gyros are always top notched and filling. I love there onion filled chilli dogs myself can eat 4 of them. Cant go wrong with coney island Last few years there prices have really gone up. Back in the summer of 2010 you could get 2 chillie dogs and a gyro for under 10 bucks now will cost you 20, and if you do a basket look to spend 10 – 12 per.

Loved the gyros at Ted’s! Worth returning to again and again! The downside: The gyro baskets were not cheap. Two gyro baskets with sodas and one extra piece of pita was $ 29, which is not what I would consider a cheap lunch. So if you are bringing a family, I would warn you to bring some bank. The upside: The gyros were excellent. I ordered mine regular and Hubs got his spicy. We were both pleased and felt these were the best gyros we have had in Iowa. The baskets come with French fries. No seasoning on them so you can make them your own. The baskets also include onion rings. The rings are dipped in some cornmeal type of batter. The rings were out least favorite item. They were crispy and crunchy, which is great. But they were missing a flavor punch. We didn’t eat many of them. The basket also came with coleslaw but we both hate coleslaw, so it was the only part of the basket that we didn’t try or eat. However, the coleslaw had good color and looked fresh.

I’ve only ever been here once but it was a great experience! The place is very clean and smelled amazing! They looked to have a pretty great menu. I ordered the tenderloin. It was very good. Lightly breaded, not too thick or thin and great flavor! Next time I’m here, I’ll have to try a few more things. The Coney Dogs looked good as well as the Gyros.

Looking for a place with good prices and large amount of food? Look no further then Ted’s Coney Island! Came here for lunch with my coworker and I ordered the regular gyro with feta cheese basket and my friend order the Xtra Large gyro(so freaking big) and I was just so impressed with all the food. The basket include onion rings, fries, and coleslaw! We happily ate all of it. The gyros were very good and we look forward to coming back here on lunch in the future!

Stopped in for takeout, and it was quick and easy. I was looking for good falafel, and Ted’s didn’t disappoint. I had a Greek salad and a falafel sandwich. The salad was decent with good amount of feta, tomatoes and cucumbers. The pita bread was wonderful. Chewy and crispy in the right combination. The falafel was tasty with lettuce, tomatoes, and sauce in good proportions.

Love Ted’s West. Clean, simple, and really excellent food. I go for the Gyro Plate — gyro meat on a salad without the pita. So tasty. They put a lot of food in front of you, too. Friendly, quick. Really solid stuff.

Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The guy who helped us was rude, impatient and just a jerk. I later found out his name is Peter when he was cleaning off tables and my wife and I heard him curse because two tables were pushed together and he had to separate them. I asked if he just cursed and he said he didn’t but he did. I then asked for his name which he reluctantly gave me. He obviously didn’t want to be there. We literally watched him treat customer after customer like crap. Because of Peter, my family and I will NEVER return.

WWWOOOOHHHOOOOO. Today was my first day trying it because my worker said it’s the best. He was not kidding! I had their deluxe Gyro, and let me tell you. This thing was so fresh. All the veggies were bright red and green and crunchy. The meat was large chunks but soft as butter. I’m going to drag my GF out there along with anyone else I know. I just wish they had a location in west glen so I could have it after a night out. The prices were also very reasonable especially for the amount and quality of food you are getting.

Ordered the«hot n’ spicy gyro basket — no sauce.» 1st time out I received a regular gyro WITH sauce. It went back, then received a regular without the sauce. But certainly wasn’t «hot n’ spicy. Which would only logically mean that A) their«hot n’ spicy» is in the sauce… which I didn’t get… or B) they thought I meant HotNspicy…86 the HotNspicy… which would be like ordering a cheeseburger with no cheese…(for the slow, a hamburger). Or C) there’s an English comprehension problem… which is becoming quite commonplace these days. On to the taste and quality. Gyro itself was certainly nothing special. Was fresh and quality ingredients, but nothing to make it stand out… just another gyro. Pretty much the same with the fries and onion rings.

Best gyros in Iowa! I keep coming back here again and again and their gyro with feta never disappoints. No fake gyros from frozen stuff here.

Falafel, onion rings, and baklava. I don’t really need to say anymore, but I will. The onion rings are so delicious! And the baklava is the best I’ve ever had. But the reason I stop here is the falafel. Not even joking. Sooo good!

Awesome spot great character and food. Hotdog with chili and mustard is the way to go here. Gyro with everything also a great item and top selling sandwich. Family owned passed down 2 or 3 generations… grandson had plenty to say about the food items and store history… good kid. They run a good operation and we will be back multiple times!

I had the Graziano Italian Sausage basket, which is a sausage patty covered with marinara and topped with mozzarella cheese and your choice of hot or sweet peppers — I had the hot. The sandwich was spectacular! The«basket» comes with french fries AND onion rings AND coleslaw. It was a lot of food! The fries & slaw were both good. I was less impressed with the onion rings; they seemed very greasy, very battered and lacking onion. Next time I will ask if I can swap out the onions for something else, preferably something that isn’t deep fried. Two fried sides can be a bit much sometimes. All of their menu items look very appealing to me. I’ll be back for sure!
