i am writing this review based on a couple of experiences. if i had to base it solely on my experience in the ER… it would be a solid 1 star rating. i realize that the ER has become the new convenient care for a lot of people, and everything from a runny nose to a car accident victim are getting treated in the same night… but there should be some sort of way of deciding who deserves to be seen more urgently than another. my case in point… my son fell down a flight of stairs at school, and with his bone clearly poking out of his arm at an odd angle, i was told to wait with him in the waiting room. a teenage boy in tears is a rare sight no matter the occasion, and it caused me a lot of concern. i made several, what i assume would be annoying visits, to the nurse station to ask if he could be seen over a NINETY minute sit in the wait area… while people with no discernible life threatening symptoms sashayed(and in one case, i literally mean that. she even had on a sequenced t-shirt that said«awesome») back to triage. my son had a broken arm he was holding together, crying. an hour and a half and an xray later, my son’s arm was, in fact, confirmed broken. the poor kid was told it was broken in one of the more«painful» ways an arm could be broken.(apparently it hurts more to break the bones at the top of your arm?) it could not be cast that night because it needed to be looked at by a surgeon the next day, but he was taken care of well once he WAS seen. i will not tank the hospital completely given the fact that i gave birth here… TWICE… and each time was a decent experience. the pain was rather traumatizing, but i understand that i would have to Unilocal«mother nature» to really be fair on that point. also, my husband nearly died 2 years ago, and he was rushed to this hospital. he spent over a month here in a coma, and while some staff seemed a little more compassionate than others — he was in good hands. i felt as though he well cared for. i do feel this hospital is limited. i had a very high risk pregnancy with my last child, however, and had to go to another hospital for half of my pregnancy. it really took away from the whole concept of continuity in care. this has been the case in other areas where a specialist has been necessary, so ultimately, i ended up switching to a different hospital.

Rooms in the ER were dirty. Caps off of syrenges lying around and even dust bunnies on the floor. Some of the techs on the 5th floor would not even be hired by McDonalds.
