Worth the 20 minute drive from Alexandria. BBQ pork sandwich is tasty — maybe the best I’ve had in the DC area. Great sides. Reasonable prices. Very friendly crew taking orders and putting them together. For a place with long lines and signs warning you there will be a wait, in fact things move pretty quickly. I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes, even with a packed restaurant. This place deserves your BBQ dollars.

Open only on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays the BBQ is absolutely amazing! Although there is a 15 – 20 minute wait for your plate, everything on the menu is worth the wait. For those desert lovers a must try is their homemade sweet potato pie… heavenly!!!

Just tried this place after waiting all winter. Ribs were good but I prefer vinegar(NC) style. Fried chicken was tasty, not fried too hard & juicy. Mac n’ cheese & collard greens were just ok. I would visit again to try the desserts & seafood salad.

This place is amazing. It can be a little bit of a wait, but well worth it. I ordered the beef ribs, BBQ chicken, cornbread, and mac and cheese. Loved it all. Prices are reasonable too. I’m definitely going back.

OMG… I bow down!!! Perfect smokey ribs, creamy potato salad, like yo’ momma made ‘Em baked beans… Need I go on? I think I shall… Chopped pork that rivals any pork from NC, greens and Mac and cheese and candied yams… Lawd, is it Thanksgiving!!! But, I’m not done… Did I mention that I am sipping on a homemade strawberry lemonade??? Let’s turn great into legendary… Banana pudding so good… I can’t find the words… Mmmmm… Slipping into a pork coma…

Food is worth every penny and the wait. You definitely get what you pay for. A little sad the online ordering doesn’t work though.

The ribs and rib tips here are good. The sides are very good. Can’t speak to anything else. The wait is long but the lady at the counter is always nice. Not a lot of places where you can get rib tips in this area, unlike the midwest, so would recommend.

The food was superb service was very organized and professional, it was crowded but its what you expect for home style cooking on a sunday, I would have given 5 stars but they were out everything I came there for, so me and my fiancé ordered something else, the food was great! I will be back.

(4.75 stars) Food is for sure 5 stars! ¼ taken for no phone — in orders. Recording mentioned online orders. Website states that option is «paused». Food is worth the ½ hr wait, however the inconvenience to the loyal customer base should be improved.

Food was worth the 30 – 45 min wait in line and prep. The ribs, fried chicken and collard greens were phenomenal. Cornbread was also great. Customers were telling me to get the sweet potato pie m, banana pudding, and seafood salad, I only bought dessert but was immediately mad at myself for not buying the seafood salad that looked awesome. Will definitely be going back!!! #FATBOX

Man, listen… I don’t even know where to start. I’m late on this one and I’m mad as hell. Can’t believe I never knew BBQ this good was this close to the crib. I went on back-to-back weekends. Last week, got a Fat Box with 2 wings, 2 ribs, mac & cheese, an extra side of greens and cornbread. Let me tell ya, those ribs were tender & seasoned riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight!!! They were good with the BBQ sauce and without sauce. Chicken wings were crispy and seasoned well. Mac & cheese was legit, not that fake 5 mins over the stove in a blue box trash. Greens were on point with a good balance of seasoning and vinegar. I went back this weekend an got a platter or ribs and a platter of beef brisket. Ribs were as good as the first time. The beef brisket was a little saltier than I like, but it was good and very tender. Adding BBQ sauce was the move to get em right. To top things off I copped a full sweet potato pie and a small banana pudding. Desserts were off the chains. Punished everything!!! Sadly they’re closed until the spring. But best believe I’ll be front & center when they open back up.

This location has a nice selection of seafood, pork, chicken, and more! They are open during particular times during the year and specific hours during the week. Ample parking and a side seating for quick outdoor meals.

This place is ducked off on a corner in what seems to be an old warehouse, maybe. Little hole-in-the-walls are my favorites anyway. I was here for it. I ordered the whiting, rib tips, fried okra, Mac and cheese and collard greens. Oh! And sweet potato pie. Can’t forget the dessert. :) It was pretty good. It’s not mom’s food, but it’s not a horrible compromise. If I could give them some advice, I would say lighten up on the fish batter and don’t fry it so hard. I would also say maybe they had those grills a little too hot. The rib tips had a good texture on the inside, but the outsides were blacker than asphalt. Not cool. The flavor was good, though. The fried okra… I won’t try that again. Too. Much. Batter. The greens were a little hard. Maybe they needed to slap a teeny bit of baking soda in that pot to tenderize those things. The mac and cheese was pretty good. The sweet potato pie was okay. It may have had a little too much cinnamon for me. I’m pretty picky when it comes to soul food since my mom is queen, but I would try this place again based on the reviews.

Saturday morning, this horrible son missed the Mother’s day dinner so I have to beg for her forgiveness a week later. Long story short, we can do something fancy, or we can do something comfy. The Rolling Ribs Part 2 was my choice for this special occasion. From the outside, it is just another carry out restaurant, but what is inside has more to offer than I have had in years. My father is a pulled(minced) pork kind of guy; my mother and I are all about ribs. My wife got a whiting platter. THEFOOD: There is no other way to say this, the food is absolutely delicious. The meat on the ribs do not fall off the bones, but does it have to be? The texture was as expected of ribs, the tenderness was just right with minimal effort. The flavor was distinct with a bit of spice to it. The portion is enormous, it was 2+ meals worth of food for the order. The sides are pretty standard in selections, but the taste is definitely memorable. THEPRICE: Very affordable. THESTAFFS: Friendly, I can feel the love among the people in the community. The order was rather large for four of us. It came to ~50USD worth of food, the staff gave us 2 ribs for us to snack on while waiting for the order. SUMMARY: I have gotten fat over the years due to my love of food and lack of exercise. I am so glad that The Rolling Ribs Part 2 is over an hour away, or else I might have to apply for disability in the near future.

A very good friend of mine has been imploring me for some time now to try out The Rolling Rib. She has said she would no longer go to Famous Dave’s or any chain BBQ joint after experiencing this place. Disclaimer: I LOVE Famous Dave’s so I was already looking at her like she had lost her flippin mind, but I was definitely curious to taste the BBQ that would make her say such foolishness!!! LOL I was home yesterday and while watching the NBA playoffs, hunger came down upon me. As I was contemplating which carryout spot I wanted to hit, The Rolling Rib came to mind. This place is only open Fri-Sun so I was in luck. First off, you better put the address in your GPS because The Rolling Rib is on a random side street that carries a Marlboro Pike address. Once you enter the parking lot, you have that«Holy Crap» moment. Cars were parked on the grassy areas, double parked, parked backwards. this was NUTS, but since I was here I was determined to see what the buzz was all about! I ordered the«Fat Box» which comes with two Pork Ribs, two Chicken Wings a piece of corn bread and a side. I chose the Mac and Cheese! I placed my order at 2:37pm, I didn’t get my food until 3:13pm. For all of you non-mathematicians out there that’s 36 minutes! So of course now I’m thinking. this food better be PHENOMENAL or else! The smell had me flying home hoping I didn’t get hit by one of those stupid speed cameras that seem to pop up when you least expect it! Here’s the skinny!!! Will I give up Famous Dave’s. HELLNO!!! Was it worth waiting almost 40 minutes… HELLNO!!! Were the ribs and the mac and cheese PHENOMENAL… HELLYEAH! Huge ribs, meaty, tinder and the sauce… OMG… The Mac and Cheese could not have been better! The chicken wings were average at best. I would not recommend these. Very tasty but small! I must say, I may have come at a very bad time(After church services), however, I won’t take the chance next time so I will DEFINITELY call in my order. I’m just praying they offer that service! Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Maaaaaan O Maaaaan! One of Upper Marlboro’s Best Kept Secrets! I can’t believe I just found out about the BBQ spot today! It was definitely worth every penny! I went here with my parents after church. I got the«Fat Box», which includes 2 pork ribs, 2 chicken wings, 1 side and cornbread. I am stuuuuffed! My parent both got the 2 meat meal. You can choose any two meats, 2 sides and cornbread. Oh, you thought Wendy’s strawberry lemonade hits the spot? I bet you won’t way that after trying this place’s strawberry lemonade! :) Customer service was on point! Because it was our first time there, the lady at one of the registers gave us free samples of their ribs! Also, she gave us two slices of sweet potato pie… I’m staring at it right now and it’s calling my name! I’m going to save it for tomorrow for lunch. I will definitely be coming back here more often. You know it must be good when the parking lot is full and it’s hardly no room to stand inside. I give this restaurant FIVESTARS!!! Bravo!!!

During one of my rare trips to Maryland I stumbled across The Rolling Rib with the help of Unilocal.Huge parking lot to serve the two business in this one building. Place is a small hole in the wall, there is a small counter that you could use to eat at but I couldn’t imagine anyone wanting to do that unless they were dying of starvation. Take out is definitely the way to go. Staff is a lively bunch but very friendly, you’d have to see them operate to know what I mean about them being lively but they’re all quite interesting. Food was okay, I had the beef brisket and fries. The serving size was huge, I was still nibbling on it days later. For the most part brisket was good, there were parts that were a bit too fatty but I mainly received quality meat. I had the mixed sauce, nice taste with a little bit of a kick. If you don’t like heat, go with the mild but if you can tolerate it barely like me, the mix should be appropriate. Fries were nice as well, I believe they call them soul fries and use a bit of Old Bay as a seasoning. Also tried the half and half mixed ice tea and lemonade, basically liquid diabetes, ridiculously sweet like any southern BBQ should make it. While I wouldn’t make a special trip to sample The Rolling Rib, if you’re in the area, it is worth a stop.
