Would like to give a ½ of a star more if I could. My only complaint is the fact that the menu didn’t have a lot of selections. I had the Ceasar salad and ordered the jerk chicken wings. The salad had fresh vegetables, and the Jerk wings were really good. They weren’t spicey at all to me. I also enjoyed my drink called the Peach Storm… I had to get me 2 more. My server was excellent, and everyone that worked kept checking on us, not just our server. Going again on Saturday enjoyed it so much!

I went into this place several times before taking a chance. I had a bookclub meeting of about 8 people that live in the area who never been to «Peachez». So after going to the Dutch Market I went into find that they would charge me for the seating and split any party bigger then 5 people up from sitting together. I could see if this was a small mom and pop eatery or if it ever stayed packed and crowded maybe even if it was iin North West or even the South East capitol hill area but it’s out in the country of Upper Marlboro… Down Brown Station Road were the deer are liable to dash out into the street and wreck your car up or some guy who just got out of jail try to talk to you(the county jail is within walking distance to this place}. The menu changes several times and started leaving out lots of things the crowd wanted. After a while it became a place to drink at without crowds of people but the tax and gratuity would just piss you off or Send you to Old Town In Just a short drive around the corner… Don’t get me wrong Peachez had it’s own unique way of serving the Upper Marlboro people. It’s like the opposite of OTI… snobby They had specific nights you had to pay cover which just sent more people in the direction of A) the Caribbean food Spot, B) OTI C) the Chinese Food Carryout or the D) Gas Station or E) The dutch Market {aka Amish Market} When you start to think, dag I can go next door to the Amish Market and spend less and eat more… that’s bam. That’s it! I went by this evening to try to give this place another chance, knowing I was going to get screwed over BUT THEYARENOWCLOSED. According to the public in the areas… They might have put themselves out of business making up rules only sending the crowd they had into dc for cheaper brunch, less rules and more of a selection of menu items that were not over priced. Sadly the did so much remodeling and downside only to close. All they needed to do was make the prices reasonable or lower it to get a large crowd. Shrimp & Grits does not cost that much to make I should know my roots are from New Orleans. Somehow having dishes that are southern but carrying a boogie atmosphere with 80’s style décor didn’t work well together. The town of Upper Marlboro loves New Orleans style food but just because you can afford to spend more on a meal doesn’t mean you should pay too much. People can, did and will always drive into Washington, DC for lower priced happy hours, small plates and a place that is welcoming of all kinds of people. Maybe they’ll re-open with a different plan. or not

The orange juice had soured the bartender was rude and the chicken sauce was banging but the chicken was rubbery. The live music was good but very loud. I could barely hear a friend of mine that was sitting right next to me. New to the area and this was its second chance for me. I went to a Sunday brunch last month and the food was expensive and not good.

3 Stars means you like it. Its A-OK. I had been wanting to go back to Peachez for 4 years now. My first experience was a Mothers Day Brunch. I made the silly mistake of hanging out late and had a tad too much to sip. So the next morning I didnt need food but water. I was very upset with myself as all of the family in my party enjoyed all the fare. I made it a point to one day come back. Finally this year I took my Wife there to brunch. There are 3 seating times 10am. 1pm, 4pm. They open doors sharp on those hours. So no need to come early as its all reservations and first come first sit. Very nice dude took our order. You can order an omlette or waffle from the kitchen and then proceed to the buffett. I had the Fried Chicken– Very good and tasty although I think it was a left over piece from the 10am crowd. The Mac and Cheese was cheesy and filling with the right amount of creamy from the milk. Greens– ONPOINT… Smothered Pork Chop… Very good, The bacon Ommlette very tasty. The rest of the fare nothing really exciting. There was nice size cocktail shrimp and crab legs, cakes, pies, and the rest of the breakfast grits, potatoes(cold and dry), didnt rry the cakes. not into sweets… But I felt the buffett was missing something. The carving station had only ham… and nobody goes for ham like that these days. If you go to the 1pm seating dont go so early as you want them to bring out the fresher food as they try to give you the leftovers from the 10am crowd. Not cool. Staff very good and Busy and the main reason why your paying a extra 28 bucks in Gratuity and Service Fees cause they keep them folks right at your table it seems ready to take your plate. Its already 37.50 per plate add the 28 bucks and the $ 5 apeiece upcharge on memosas and your at $ 100 bucks for 2 people. I dont think I will do it again for that price. I want my brunch from napkin, burp, mint at a reasonable 65 – 70 bucks for 2. At $ 100 bucks I need steak on the menu along with a few other things.

Before it got dark outside, you could see that this is a well set up space. The chairs, the interesting ceiling, the great light treatments… all in all, it is a comfortable and inviting setup. The recorded music is a little loud, but not too bad. Guests did seem to talk loudly, though, and we had to lean in to hear each other. Those great light treatments are worthless, however. Man, it is too dark! I pulled out the flashlight on my phone to see the menu. The population in the area around Peachez will tend to be in their late 30’s and better. We need light! The menu is varied, and holds some promise. However, the appetizer that we chose, hot spinach with nachos, was boring. The crisp fried tortillas were delicious, but the creamy spinach was bland. Ditto for the shrimp and grits. The grits were perfect, buttery and creamy; not at all lumpy or undercooked. Shame the shrimp and canned tomato sauce on top of it was overly salty and … boring. But! The signature Angus burger was the bomb! the fries were, again, boring, but the burger is with the relatively low cost of the plate. Plenty of great flavor, thick, and oversized, this burger is a great choice. We also enjoyed Marcus Young, the evening’s entertainment. The music of the live ensemble was pleasantly loud, and who can complain about a group that starts with«I can’t help it» by Michael Jackson in a deliciously jazzy sendup. Fantastic! All said, we will try this again, just to see what else is good on the menu, and to see if the band that night is as good as these guys were.

Entertainment only. I came here on a Saturday for some late evening entertainment. A live artist who I always enjoy was playing that night. As much as I enjoyed the live performance, the overall scene was so dull. It’s a nice spot but I don’t think I would come here again unless I was on a date as that seemed to be the case for everyone else there, LOL! Beside, I don’t live anywhere near Peachez so the ride is a hike. Luckily I wasn’t driving and able to catch a nap on the way home.

A couple of friends and I went for their Sunday Brunch on 12÷2÷12 and it was an amazingly lackluster experience — at 12:30 they had already run out of a few breakfast staples(read breakfast potatoes); the food was unremarkable, mimosas weak and although our server tried her best to be attentive, they are ridiculously understaffed. Orders for waffles and eggs have to be placed through your waiter and it took 40 minutes to get two of the egg orders and waffles and an additional 10 for me to get my scrambled egg whites which arrived burnt. One of the ladies in my group waited another 10 for her eggs and waffle, but only after the manager stopped by to check on our table. Bottom line never going back! PS: The few items we could scrounge from the buffet were actually decent.

Peachez is interesting. I’ll say that. It’s in a strip mall. Is decorated like an 80’s bar with red booths and mirrors everywhere. And they have one of the best brunches in DC? Ooooook, lets sort this out: If you find yourself there in the evening, expect to find a fairly solid DJ spinning hip hop, stiff drinks and plenty of seating because, welll, it’s a café. The crowd is local… and the spelling of Peachez should tell you everything you need to know about who’s partying there. But for all the plus size spandex, folks were having a great time, no drama. This is the kind of place where 3 – 4 people are dancing on the linoleum and they don’t care who’s watching. Real people, just relaxing and cooling out. Nice. Now, wander in there on Sunday and you’ll see the DJ’s area has been set up as a brunch buffet for $ 30. Grits, sausage(pork & turkey), fried chicken, mac n cheese, cabbage(so frickin good), salmon cakes biscuits… peach cobbler(meh) and sweet potato soufflé. They also will make omelettes and waffles to order(included). Pretty much everything I tasted was DELICIOUS. So I recommend it. That being said, be prepared for disjointed service. We were a party of eight with a reservation and they separated our party across two four-tops. ??? We ended up pushing our tables together ourselves and squeezing in so the birthday girl could talk with everyone. They brought out drink napkins… but no drinks for half an hour! We had to ask for water, ask for tea… and we didn’t get coffee for nearly an hour. Service was so disjointed, and our waitress was scrambling, even though many of the other tables were empty. BUT I will say they were very very nice. ZERO attitude. And that goes a long way! :)) If you’re not in a rush, go. You’ll enjoy it!

I haven’t been here since the renovation and was pleasantly surprised by the change. Esthetically, it looked great– updated, more modern, open space. The menu wasn’t what I remembered, however. I had the jerk wings with plantains and this phenomenal peach sauce. The gentleman who joined me even commented on how tasty it was, after telling me that condiments weren’t necessary… go figure. Now on to the main dishes. I ordered a medium rare grilled rib-eye steak that had a special dry rub seasoning topped with crispy shallots and served with Yukon roasted garlic purée, sautéed spinach & mushrooms cabernet reduction. The steak was disappointing for a 2 reasons:(1) it was extremely thin. When I think of a rib eye, I think of a nice thick cut piece of medium rare meat that is grilled to perfection. Needless to say, this steak here fell far from that expectation. It is difficult, if not impossible, to cook a steak less that of an inch thick med. rare.(2) it was salty. The combination of the«crispy shallots» with the rub was too much for such a thin slice of meat; actually, it was too much for any cut of meat. Less salt and more of other flavors, such as something sweet and something spicy would really round out this dish a lot better. Luckily, the potatoes weren’t as seasoned and when mixed with every bite of steak– helped with the salt issue. The handsome company that joined me ordered the New Zealand lamp chops with a sweet potato mash and rosemary mint merlot sauce. On a scale from 1−10… I’d give the lamb 4. Way overcooked; I will be important for Peachez to grill them to medium rare or medium. There are few things worse than a dried out, over-cooked lamb chop and this was two pieces of just that. Because the lamp chops were the focus of the plate, evaluating everything else ceased once we tasted them. Luckily, we were both hungry. There was also live music. While it sounded great, it was way too loud. I don’t expect music to be at a club volume in a lounge setting. Just to give the readers an idea of how loud… Michael and I couldn’t hear each other as we pretty much yelled into each other’s ear. The drinks and service was extraordinary, however. The server and manager were extremely attentive to our table. All in all, Peachez has the potential to be really successful on all three levels– atmosphere, food, and bar. With a few culinary tweaks and a volume adjustment, I think this will add to how great this place has the potential to be.

I really like this place i went here for brunch wayyy back in December 2011, it was a great atmosphere… a various selection of food not ur average brunch at all! Not to mention the live jazz was a nice bonus. The only downside is it can get pretty expensive with a large party for brunch because its a set price per person & i wish they had a special for mimosas like most places do. Other than that i cant wait to go back & check it out on a regular day!

Staff is pretty bad and the food(brunch) is way overpriced for the quality you receive. As other posters have mentioned, it’s always nice to support local businesses but… not when they take advantage of you on multiple fronts. Bad food with an attitude? Ummmm… No thanks

My first time going to Peachez was the weekend of my birthday with my boyfriend, and we went for brunch. Overall the food was good, however staff seemed a little un-organized. When I called to change my reservation to an hour later, they had me on hold for like 8min; you would’ve thought I asked them close the restaurant down. Then upon arrival, we had to wait for an add’l 10min(and we were on time!). Then the waitress we had was HORRIBLE! The only words she said to us was«What type of drink would you all like?» I watched how this woman interacted with other parties around us and she greeted all of them with a smile, yet when she came to our table, it was like WWIII. I would’ve given this place 4 stars, but the customer service was WHACK!!! I hope it’s better the next time I return.

Was once one of my fav Sunday brunch spots. Now? Not so much. Not sure if the food is worse than the staff(its really only ONE person in particular, and she KEEPS an attitude), but… whatever. I won’t be going back — which is too bad, because I’m a fan of some of the musical talent that performs there. I hate that PG County has such POOR sit-down restaurant selections. Oh well.

I came here for a birthday party a few weeks ago and a date night some months ago. Each time was a fun one that included good food, GREATSINGING, and really potent cocktails! They specialize in seafood dishes and standard All American food selections(wings, burgers, crab cake sandwiches etc.) The customer service was very good both times. YES, this place is in a strip mall, the décor– grandma’s dining room, but don’t sleep! The entertainment here is crazy! They have live bands with some of the best singers and musicians in the area. The singers hit Jill Scott classics, Frankie Beverly and Maze, and all other current radio tunes they could spin into something jazzy. When it REALLYGETSGOOD, these nightingales take flight from the stage and make their way around the restaurant for serenades, one shoved a microphone my way and had me blow a few notes?! ooooh Lord luckily I can carry a tune otherwise that could’ve been embarrassing. My friend even looked hestitant until he realized I had not made a fool of myself, he looked over and said WOW I did’nt know you could sing? I just winked, but deep down I was sweatin’ bullets. I recommend this place for a ladies night out, afterwork, or a date night. The dance floor fills up midway through the evening. This is a nice venue for people who hang out in DC/VA and don’t want to run into that same old crowd. Check it out! It’s refreshing to find a place that provides dinner and dancing, instead of this trendy lounge scene where folks get dressed up just to stand around.

I agree with another Unilocaler that this place needs an image overhaul– STAT! I’ve been hearing about Peachez for a few years so I was excited to try them out for Sunday brunch recently. Yet I somehow knew before I even arrived that we wouldn’t receive good service and it was probably very overrated. I walked in at 2 pm to see the jazz band packing up, which surprised me. I know they open at 10:30 but I would have thought that peak hours on a Sunday were 11 – 3. I guess not. It’s a fairly large place, with a bar in the center of the room. Reminded of Jasper’s in Greenbelt in the 90’s, which is not really a compliment. My gf’s had drinks sitting at the bar waiting on me(always late) that they said were good. I was thirsty, so I wanted to sit down so I could start my unlimited mimosas(fairly decent price of $ 5 added on to the brunch price). Ummmm, not happening. Took another 20 minutes to basically beg the three waitresses we seemed to have to get us the mimosas. And business was slowing down, as people were leaving and not many coming in so didn’t make sense it took so long . In the meantime, I helped myself to the buffet situated in a little side room off the dining area. There were several chafing dishes filled with your basic buffet breakfast items on one side and soul food dinner items on the other side. There was an omelette stand and a waffle making stand, and in the rear a dessert station. Some of the food had been sitting out a few hours and was almost gone. I never saw anyone refresh the items the 3x I went back. I piled on my plate and got a shrimp, veggie & cheese omelette, and a freshly prepared waffle. The standout was the waffle, though the omelette was pretty good. Nothing else was that great to me. And the peach cobbler was gross. Really bad. I really don’t think the food I tasted was worth $ 22.95. But I know that’s a pretty average buffet price. I may go again a little earlier in the day next time and hope that the food is fresher. Otherwise, I can’t buy into the hype surrounding this place. They should work on their service, get some new chairs and expedite the food faster so the buffet is constantly refreshed.

This place needs an identity make over. It’s a place with mid level décor in an out of the way strip mall in the burbs. I got lost on the way there and I was sure I was going to end up on a farm. We went for the Sunday brunch. The service was not that great. It was a long while before we got our drinks. That should be easy during buffett hours. Now I felt the food was better than average. The smothered pork chops were some of the best I ever had. I am interested in coming here for dinner so my food is fresher. I’m willing to give them another try.

We went there on a Saturday night for a friend’s birthday. There we no tables left(they were all reserved) so we ended up sitting at the bar. The ladies at the bar were really nice and our food came out pretty fast. I’m not sure about the wait staff. The food was eh. My appetizer was really good, but my burger was just ok. Perhaps their other meals are better. My friend got the shrimp and grits. And she said while they were tasty, she’s had better. The cocktails were good! Made just right. There was a live band there which great! I haven’t heard live Go-Go in a long time so I enjoyed that. Parking was ample and the place wasn’t hard to find. I’d go back. I’d like to try their brunch. Next time I’ll make sure to make a reservation.

If it wasn’t so expensive, I’d probably give it 3 stars. I just don’t think you get what you pay for in this place. We went on a Thursday night, got there around 5:30, and by midnight, there were no more than 30 people there. I was surprised, since I heard this was such a hot spot. I went to Peachez when it first opened, mainly because it was close to home and owned by a friend of the family. The first time we went, we were quite underwhelmed with the food and it was very pricey, but that was years ago. They had to have changed with the times by now, right? Wrong. This time, the menu was even smaller than I remembered, and the prices hadn’t changed. If you are charging B. Smith’s and Georgia Brown’s prices, I expect the same level of food. They aren’t the best, but Peachez can’t compare. The waitress was very slow and nonchalant, and we had to ask her for just about everything. Lucky for her gratuity was included since we had such a large party. For dinner, we had spinach and crab dip, which I heard was great. Maybe this was a bad night because it was dry as the desert, and I don’t remember tasting crab. And what’s with all these fancy type of chips restaurants try to serve with spinach dip? They were horrible. I would’ve been happier with those chips they serve at church communion. I also had the special which was tilapia drowned in some type of thick sauce, rice, shrimp, and fresh veggies. It wasn’t nasty, but a little bland, and I just expected better for the money. I love to eat, so when I’m paying good money for food, I want it to be good. The best part about the night was the DJ. The music was on point all night.

It gets even better My family and I had the sunday brunch here yesterday for Father’s Day. Very, very good! It was a mixture of typical breakfast food(bacon, french toast, omlettes, homemade waffle, etc) along with seafood. The shrimp cocktail was especially good. It was great to experience Peachez again from a different perspective.
