I really like the rewards program at beauty 4 u. The more you spend, the more you earn toward future purchases. The store is always well kept and fully stocked BUT the prices are sky high. Sometimes you can find good deals on wigs but some of the items I frequently purchase like Jamaican black castor oil, Shea Moisture, Carol’s Daughter and Kinky Curly Knot Today products are at least $ 3 – 5 more expensive here than at other stores, which means I never buy them here. Maybe this is because these are more natural hair products(no sulfates, no parabens, no mineral oil, etc) or they’re in high demand, I’m not really sure why they cost so much here. The makeup selection is good and they have really good pricing on perm rods, combs, brushes, etc. Just look out for the severely overpriced items because they are many in this store. I will continue to shop here for certain things but I know better than to buy others. It is what it is, ya know?!

I’ve been to this Beauty 4 U store 3 times. I purchased 2 wigs. The first wig got a little wet on the edges from sweat. The hair became so frizzy I had to throw it away $ 65(lasted 2 weeks). The second wig doesn’t even look like the wig I tried on. There’s a little trick they do that nobody notices. The lady always gives you the pack to take up front to pay without the wig. I guess she thinks we’ll steal? Anyway, while you’re paying she’s in the back switching the wig for a cheaper version of what you picked. Yes! The wig I ended up with is a mess! The hair is thin, shredding and I’m not even going to wear it. Another wasted $ 50. The nice wigs cost $ 200-$ 500. Really? Also they’re selling these new wig caps that are better for your hair? How many years have we been wearing stocking caps. I’m just saying don’t drink the koolaid! LOL! I won’t be going back there.

I want to like this place, really. I think my problem is that it’s just too big and bright. The closure I got there was sub par but the weave was at least adequate. They never have the color braiding hair I want and I ask every few months for that same color and yet they haven’t stocked it. The beauty supply(a smaller one) down the street in mitchellville plaza, when I asked for that same color, the clerk told me he would order it and it was there the next day. The good thing is their incredibly simple rewards card! That’s the only reason I continue to step foot in there.

The wig/extension prices are entirely too high. I purchased a wig from them and the lady told me they ran out of that particular COLOR so I trusted her to hand me the same wig in the color that was available, got it home-totally different TEXTURE. The second wig I bought was itchy. It looked ratty and tangled within 2 weeks and I started developing small surface scabs around my edges. It was a $ 63.00 lacefront — OVERPRICED. Save your money, STAYAWAYFROMTHEWIGS. Everything else is good though. The weave, the products the cleanliness etc.

I decided to leave a review after my experience today. Now I have been to this store on a few occasions. Today I was passing time, waiting for my dog at the groomers. The main issue I have with this wig store is their prices. They are marked WAY higher than the same styles you could easily find online. My other issue is this — who charges $ 1 for a friggin wig cap? If you buy a wig its free. It’s an irritant but it also shows just how money hungry they are. I left the store without paying for a wig cap and also without buying anything from them. Both asian ladies working the counter pretty much ignored me. If you don’t want my money fine. Trust I will not be returning to that store.

This is a different location, with the same owner… but, lower prices. Yes, I know $ 1 savings on a pack of braiding hair may not be that big of a deal; but, when you have to purchase several packs, those dollars in savings amount to what could be spent on lunch. I’ll always want to save $$$, so that I can spend it on food! Anyway, this location is large, with(dare I say) even more of a variety of products than one of the others I frequent. The customer service is great, and the store is neat/organized. Who has the lowest prices that I’ve(ever) found on pure shea butter in the DMV? That’s Beauty 4 U! Note: When signing up for a membership card, it is only allocated to one location. If you want a discount/future savings, then you must sign up for a separate card for each location you visit.

HUGE superstore with every beauty supply you could ever imagine for«black hair». What is «black hair» anyway? Huge spectrum of course, and they cover it all! Lotions, potions, gels, curlers, clips, combs, brushes, extensions, wigs, hair color, perms, hairdryers, curling irons, and high-end shampoos and conditioners. Don’t forget the plethora of cosmetics, nail polish, hats, socks, flipflops, and costume jewelry. Goodness gracious. And if you are like me and like to read every single ingredient in every single product, you’ll be in here forever if you don’t arrive with a plan. I never arrive with a plan. I end up playing this ‘game’ of finding 3 – 5 different products in different price ranges that have the same ingredients in the same order. This makes me happy for some reason. I always feel like I’ve «won». Won what?! Nothing. Just more money out of my pocket. But this gives you an idea of how much product they have in stock. They even carry products that are more popular in other countries, so if you are newly emigrated to the area from outside our borders, have no fear — Beauty4U probably carries it, which is pretty cool. Definitely worth the trip — just come with a list or plan otherwise you’ll be in there forever! I have been to almost all of the Beauty4U locations. This one is my second favorite! The lighting is awesome. It’s so organized and well-lit. Everyone is so helpful. Definitely stop by… with a plan.

That girl with the exaggerated weave, lashes and nails needs to go… or work in another section besides the wig section. She lacks customer services knows when to appear as if she’s working and shops on company time when she should be helping the people that she leaves standing around, not near management. She has no extensive or basic knowledge of products she wears(wigs) or sales so she needs to be trained again. Last week she had a lace front pulled down so far on her forehead it stopped near her eyebrows. She also sets up little old ladies and sold an 80 year old lady a #1 black wig and somebodies mama a honey blonde Jerri curl wig in 2013!!! the wigs are marked up higher then the market value and online price x 3. so if a wigs value is really worth $ 10 expect to pay $ 30 or more. go online and to the capitol heights location if you want to save time and money. But besides her all the workers both Asian and Black men and woman have been pleasant. After 4 encounters with this girl out of 6 visits, I purchased 2 times and all other times left the store to returned to a Capitol Hill beauty supply
