I’ve been meaning to try this place out since it opened and finally got the chance to last night. A couple of friends and I split a pitcher of margarita and some appetizers. The pitcher was huge and filled nine glasses(granted, there was a lot of ice, so it probably actually amounted to less actual alcohol). The waitress was ok, but she did accommodate several special requests. The portions were plentiful and the food was quite good. I also must say that I loved the décor. Everything was really colorful and fun… not what I was expecting from the outside. It’s also much larger inside than I expected.

Ate here April 13. Worst Mexican restaurant EVER. My burrito was completely bland. My stepdaughter would not touch the taco and burrito ordered off the childrens’ menu and complained it smelled bad. Her food had nothing but tortilla, meat and sauce, and was quite disgusting. Look elsewhere, truthfully I would tat taco bell over this place. Zero stars.

I just re-visited Las Margaritas yesterday with my wife. This is a place that I go to about once a month and usually have decent service and food. The service has never been spectacular but always decent. Yesterday it was downright horrible. It took between 10 to 12 minutes for anyone to even stop by our table to see what kind of drinks we wanted. I actually had to make eye-contact with a waitress to get her to stop by; otherwise we would’ve waited longer. A couple that came in after us had chips, salsa, and drinks before us and they came in about 4 minutes after us. Two separate waiters came to explain that there was confusion about who was serving the area, so I thought everything would be okay from there on out. This is small, but we received a massive bowl of chips(WAY too big for two people and a waste of food) and a paltry amount of salsa. After the confusion of the waitstaff, we received our food promptly but noticed that our vegetable fajitas were not sizzling hot. Every single time that we’ve ordered them, they came to our table sizzling, crackling hot. This time they were not. I even held my hand over them to make sure they weren’t cold. They weren’t; they were still warm, but wondering how long they sat in the back before being served to us. We got the vegetarian burrito and fajita. The food was good but after we ran through the three tortillas, I asked another employee — not our waiter — for more, and he told me it would be an extra charge. An extra charge for one or two tortillas? I passed on that. This entire time our waiter did not stop by our table one single time, aside from taking our initial order. We had to flag down someone else to ask about the tortillas and that was just about the final straw. The restaurant was not that busy so I’m not quite sure what was going on. I will certainly not be going back anytime soon… if ever. There are plenty of Mexican restaurants around and I’m not paying $ 25 to $ 40 to get average tasting food and poor service. Keep in mind that my most recent experience was based on the interactions of three employees there — one of whom is always there and I assume is the manager. Sorry guys, I’ll be going somewhere else next time. I would’ve given this experience a 1 start but the food was fine.

If there is one thing that will keep me coming back to Las Margaritas, it’s their damn delicious jalapeño slaw. Oh my word is it wonderful. That being said, this is your standard Americanized Mexican restaurant. The chips and salsa are free and pretty good. The guacamole is quite tasty. The portions are pretty large. The service is always good and the staff friendly. If you are in the mood for reasonably priced, family friendly«Mexican» food, definitely give them a try.

Worst Mexican Restaurant Ever! The food was cold. The top shelf margarita was nothing but sour mix & heart burn. I complained because of this and no water, napkins, or silverware, and the service was bad. The manager apologized and said«the margaritas may taste funny because maybe I drink Pepsi with tequilla»??? They charged us for the food but took the margaritas away & off the bill. Don’t eat or drink here!!!

Had an awful experience here. Food was nasty and cold, service was poor, complaining to the manager was like talking to a brick wall. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

We tried this restaurant in May. We arrived late in the afternoon and were 1 of 2 tables in the restaurant. Lots of people standing around doing nothing and service was still slow. Took forever to get our drinks and when we finally placed our order my husband asked if he could have different types of enchiladas in his order and was told he could not. Really?! Food was just okay — nothing special — definitely not worth the price. While we were finishing up some young girls came by and asked the hostess if they could order some quesadillas to go. As they stood there waiting for her to get them a menu I told them they’d be better off going to Chipotle. We won’t go there again. Too bad — we like to frequent local businesses.

I’ve been to two different Las Margaritas locations since moving here a year ago. Neither of which provides decent food. Don’t go… please.

We’ve been huge fans of Las Margaritas for the last 9 years but tonight’s visit to the Upper Arlington location was our last. We waited well over 45 minutes for our food and more than one dish was cold when we got it. Our waitress was apologetic and said that she herself would pay for our drinks — she stated that her«manager is a real stickler» and that’s the best she could do. When we asked to talk to him, because it didn’t seem right that she should pay out of her pocket, Jorge approached our table in an extremely arrogant fashion and didn’t seem to care less that our food was not only late but cold. In fact, he made it seem like it was our fault that we weren’t happy — that we should have complained louder and harder. He even asked«do you want something else for free?». We didn’t want anything for free — we wanted a manager’s apology, empathy and explanation as to the poor service that we aren’t used to experiencing. When I went up to pay the bill, he was making the waitress cry behind the bar. He ran my debit card for me and I asked him if he even cared that he had unhappy, long-standing customers and he had the audacity to say«no, I don’t care». He was a pompous, arrogant jerk and, because of his behavior we will never return to a Las Margaritas again.

Las Margaritas! Where’d you go?! Oh, there you are. When the Henderson location closed I was heart broken. When I was back in my old hood and noticed they were about to open this location I jumped up and down while in my car and injured my head(no joke). My first visit here was an appropriate one; misery margaritas after finding out I’d gotten passed over for a job! The food was just as I’d remembered, amazing Americanized Mexican food without the crowd of El Vaquero. The new location is beautiful and much more spacious. Also they have $ 4 jumbo margaritas for happy hour. Some lush may have had two while I was there. It definitely wasn’t me. Definitely. Not. Me.

Holy Margs, their margaritas are huge! El Vaquero charges a similar price for their smallest margs, so I was surprised to see a very large glass(think those mucho drinks at Applebee’s) coming towards me. Beer was served in the same glass which the boy didn’t particulary like because he found it difficult to drink. My marg was good though, exactly what I needed after a long week at work.(I just wish I had eaten more during the day so I could handle another!) The chicken in my enchiladas was a bit dry, but I very much liked the red sauce and rice. They serve refried beans in a separate bowl so for those of you(me) who don’t like those beans touching the rest of your food, no worries! I’d been to the old location on Henderson & was sad to see it close. This location is much newer and I loved the décor. The ceiling tiles in the middle of the restaurant are absolutely gorgeous!

My wife loves mexican/tex-mex and margaritas so we decided since it was close by we’d give Las Margaritas a try. We met up with another couple and sat out on the patio. If it weren’t for the nice weather outside and the pleasant company and conversation it would’ve been a real drag of a dinner. The first drag was the service, while it was far from the worst I’d ever had it was definitely somewhere between ok and bad. It was in the last hour and a half or so of them being open and that might have affected it, but it’s not like we walked in with a half hour to go and the place was ready to close or anything. Late guest treatment aside I also didn’t feel confident that our waitress understood us even or was familiar with their own menu. She got three out of four orders right though. The second drag was the food. Bland, as bland can be and dry to boot. I don’t have ridiculously high standards for tex-mex food, moist and flavorful is all I ask; our food was neither. My wife’s carnitas somehow became beef cubes instead of pork; incredibly tough chewy flavorless beef cubes at that. My chicken quesadilla’s only flavor came from the gooey melted cheese surrounding the dry pieces of cardboard masquerading as chicken. I will say my chile relleno was ok, but nothing to write home about. Some of the desserts looked tempting, but we opted to try Orange Leaf next door instead. Bottom line: If you’re looking for good tex-mex this isn’t it, if you want to have a few margaritas after work though, you could do worse I suppose.

This location opened this past spring, and I finally go around to eating here a couple weeks ago. Really, everything in terms of food and décor is what one would expect from a «mexican» restaurant. Free chips and salsa = yummy, entrees were brought out quickly, and food tasted as it should I suppose. The meat was pretty good and not questionable, but also doused in various sauces, so it probably would have tasted good anyway. The service was above par, with our waiter being super friendly, really funny and extra attentive. Maybe a little too attentive for my taste, but I could tell his intentions were good. I’d go back for a quick and easy mexican sit-down, since it’s so close to where I live and no one got sick afterward.
