Other than the old couple sitting in the corner staring at us the whole time we were there, it was nice. I ordered 3 carnitas tacos, a chicken taco and a Horchata. The lady that took the order was cordial, nothing special. Although she never looked up at me. The tacos were good. They really must have been if my son ate all his chicken taco. I’d come back but maybe just get it to go.

Wish I could add half a star. The pastor here is awesome!!! Still not as good a Taqueria Rincon Alteno in Santa Barbara and Goleta for close. I got the three tacos, chips and soda special which is $ 7.99. The cost is a little higher than most places but worth it. Only thing that I was bummed about is the salsa. They give you two squirt bottles of salsa, a red and green. The red hardly counts as a salsa. Very mild flavor and no spice detectable. The green is made with roasted tomatillos. The char taste is dominate. Also very mild and bland. If they got a better salsa or a salsa bar I would upgrade them. But the food is good, the place is clean. I would go out of my way to visit.

Lived in upland for over 15 years but never tried before. Pleasantly surprised. Both the Assad and pastor tacos had great flavor and texture. Perfectly prepared and a great bargain. Going back for the breakfast plate todayp

Worst torta ever. Green sauce taste like crap and red sauce taste like watered down tapatio. Meat tasted old and salty bread was soggy and i got fries with my order? It didnt go well together… the best thing about my order was my coke. Definitely NOT coming back. Not worth TEN dollars! Flavorless food NOT authentic at all.

Taken here by a friend and have been going here ever since. The bean and cheese special is the best. It is unfortunate that they changed their(red) hot sauce. Despite this minor gripe, I will continue to eat here.

«Cabeza» is an unfamiliar word that takes me to places equally unfamiliar. It means head in Spanish. The chef places said head on a grill, and eventually here comes everything the head has to offer: ojos(eyes), oreja(ear), cachete(cheek), lengua(tongue), labios(lips), and anything edible thereabout. This exotic(to me) brew of marginally edible(to me) head material challenges my North American sensibilities. How do Unilocalers face such things? Well if it’s a taco, WITHBOTHHANDS, ANDDOWNTHEHATCH. Hey that wasn’t so bad. Hail to the King.

4 stars for the chicken burrito. 2 stars for the customer service. Figured 3 stars is appropriate.

Not impressed, if you know Mexican food and what authentic beans should taste like, the food was horrible comparable to Taco Bell & sell taco

This is my place of comfort, bean burrito, with green sauce and onions, chips and a drink all under 5 bucks. It would be nice if they put more beans in the burrito, ask for more and they may accommodate.. Great nachos, stacked high with all the fixens, enough for two. For those that like big chain feel, go to del taco, Lots of pretty colors you can stare at while eating your slop!

Glad We checked this place out a couple visits before. Food is .com Always friendly service. If you eat inside they give you a bottle of their sauce to use. Food comes out quick. I always end up getting the carnitas burrito. The Bean specials pretty good too.

I found this place when I started working in Upland. I like the bean special, bean and cheese burrito w/strips and a drink. I usually get a taco too. Yes, it’s not really really like authentic mexican. But it’s the mexican food that was here in California when I was growing up. I’m an old Mexican guy, the kind that never learned Spanish at home. Yes, lots of white people do eat here. It’s not fantastic food. But it’s run by nice people. My daughter and I love bean and cheese burritos. It’s hard to find a good bean and cheese burrito. You won’t find it at Chipotle or Taco Bell. Use the red and the green salsa. The tacos are ok, and the Albondigas is ok, not as good as I can make but it’s good. I don’t really care where the the beans were grown, or whether the pig was comfortable, do you? I worry about my job and my reponsibilities.

I have been going here for over 25 years. I love it. I bring my wife and kids here now and we love it. Great food. Great service, even when they are swamped. Burritos, tacos, tostadas, nachos, chips, taquitos, everything is tasty and even though it is small and not a huge staff, they keep it clean and work their butts off doing it. If you had a bad experience here try it again and if you’re not pleased then look in the mirror. Taco King!

A friend of a friend from Crestline suggested Taco King…“it’s a landmark, I always eat there when I come down from the mountains… it has the best food ever!” I can only comment on the 1 meat and 1 carnitas burrito and cheese quesadilla we ordered — take out on a Sunday afternoon. The counter help was friendly. Ambiance? None. Unless you like dicey, divey and just plain… unremarkable. Are melmac dishes and cheap silverware a style? Handwritten signs in felt pen complete the experience. I guess some mountain folk just like that kind of atmosphere??? Now the food. The meat in both burritos were dried out and tasted if yesterday or the day before it may have been fresh. The beans we under under seasoned and the flour torillas were full of lard, which results in a crusty, mushy burrito. The quesadilla just poorly prepared. Some cheddar cheese, barely melted in the lardy tortilla. Diced green chiles must be a special order? I mean come on, even Del Taco has diced green chiles? If this was once a «great place», I am sorry — but the King is dead. We recommend Alberto’s or Baja Fresh.

Super good food super bad prices Ive come here a couple times same girl every time I’ve ordered my sister a plain bean and cheese burrito every time and every time I come its a different price ranging from 3dollars to 5dollars definitely not worth the price for some beans and cheese wrapped up in a tortilla or she once said she’ll give me the deal of 2 for 10 dollars… What the hell

Gross, not authentic at all. Only came here once and will not be back. The only good thing was the horchata but that’s kind of hard to mess up.

Ill never go here again… other than really nice guy who always takes the order, food is gross… learned that the ALL meat carne asada burrito actually means, ALL beans… nachos don’t have much carne asada either.
