Dr. Shomer and his entire staff are awesome ! Very rarely do you come across a Doctor that — I feel — genuinely cares about their patients. Dr. Shomer is one of those doctors. I am also amazed at his knowledge and professionalism. His demeanor when speaking to patients leaves you with a comforting feeling. Once again thumbs up to the entire staff from the assistants to the receptionist — I truly feel they are top notch !

By far, the kindest and the most professional doctor I’ve encountered in a long time, later on kept corresponding with me via emails. I recommend him very much!

Took my Mom to see Dr. Shomer when she moved into the area. She has glaucoma and was never able to tolerate the drops that her previous doctor prescribed. Dr. Shomer prescribed an eye drop that works well and my Mom is so pleased that she can keep the glaucoma under control with the drops instead of with surgical/​laser procedures. He is very thorough and takes the time to answer questions. We never feel rushed.
Recently, my Mom told me she was seeing a floater in one of her eyes (in which she previously had a detached retina). I knew that a floater could really be a detached retina and based on her history, I needed to get her to the doctor ASAP. I called Dr Shomer’s office and they recognized the urgent need for my mom to be seen and worked her into the doctor’s schedule only a few hours later. Luckily it was not a detached retina but Dr. Shomer took good care of my Mom and diagnosed the problem accurately. I highly recommend Dr. Shomer. His credentials and training are impressive and he truly seems to be tops in his field.

Dr. Shomer is great. He is friendly and remembers me every year, which is crazy with all the people he must see. He always remembers personal details about the visit a year or more prior. Plus he is the tops in his field. Your eyes are important, you should visit someone who cares.

Today I had a visit with Dr. Shomer. I saw him because I thought I was having issues stemming from PRK Lasik. I had the surgery 2 years ago and recently my eyes starting going in and out of focus (scary when driving!!). I wanted a good eye doctor. Dr. Shomer was the only one in my area with good reviews so I made an appointment. Dr. Shomer is very easy going and knowledgeable. He was able to answer all my questions and even explained what was truly wrong with my eyesight. It was not an issue from my lasik as i was previously told. Unfortunately, I had to be referred to a specialist for my condition but I overall I am very pleased with Dr. Shomer. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr Shomer responded to my review by sending to me a detailed explanation of his course of treatment. I appreciate his efforts in trying to clear up the differences in how we both perceive my history under his care. It boils down to miscommunication. I hope the lessons learned are for each of us to communicate as best we can. Maybe written accounts of office visits would prevent misunderstandings and better serve the patient in understanding more clearly their diagnosis.

Today I had my first visit with Dr. Shomer. He’s very easygoing and knowledgeable. I felt comfortable and NOT rushed. Before leaving, Dr. Shomer made sure all my questions were answered and provided me with multiple samples. Saturday and Sunday appointments available.
