Louie’s Chicken & Fish Grill

This place has excellent food. I wouldn’t be coming bk if the food was bad. I have tried everything and it’s really good. Too bad when it comes to speed of service forget it. Expect to be waiting at 15 minutes or more for your food, if you walk in and see its busy… turn around, I suggest you order your food ahead and just pick it up.

Stop by this place for some lunch and I have to say that this place is really good. Ordered the tortilla soup which is bomb and also the spicy chicken plate. It was great and felt healthy at the same time. Will be back

Finally was in town on a Wednesday to try the turkey chili. Wow is all I can really get out with this full mouth. It’s amazing!!! My mom had the carne asada tacos which I think she has ordered before but they were also mind blowing. If you live in the IE and you haven’t been here you are missing out. Great food, great service, and the recent remodel looks great. Keep it up Louie’s.

A co-​worker and I were in the area for an all-​day seminar. We were only allowed a one-​hour lunch along so we had to quickly look for a healthy lunch. Louie’s has great reviews with healthy options. We were relieved that we were there before the lunch crowd. Employees are very friendly and we placed our order for two grilled catfish plates. Prices are average and appeared to be close to market price on the seafood. There is a fresh condiment bar, a nice addition. We waited for a very long time for our food, around 25 minutes, which is a lot for reheating yams sauteeing spinach, and grilling 2 catfish fillets. The 3 other tables that were present were receiving their order when we arrived so the wait time was puzzling. My guess would be that the fish had to be defrosted or they had run out of yams and had to boil them (I say this because that is what the yams tasted like-​fresh boiled, nothing else). We both scarfed down our food in less than 5 minutes and hurried back to our seminar site. My co-​worker enjoyed her garlic butter catfish. I agreed that my cajun catfish was seasoned well. Everything else was underwhelming. We may return to try other items when in the area again. They seem to have regular customers for lunch. The fresh soups, fried seafood, and tacos will be on my list to try next.

I’ve been here I think 4 times now, tried 4 different dishes, and they’ve all been phenomenal. My gf is pretty picky about her meat dishes, but she raves about the chipotle ranch chicken bowl here too.
I’ve tried the cajun salmon, cajun tilapia, chicken teriyaki, and the cuban plate, and I honestly couldn’t decide which one was my favorite, they were all good. Plus the prices are very reasonable, and the workers here are always so nice and friendly!
Anytime we’re around the Upland area we’ll be coming here to eat. This might be a mainstay of our weekend eating rotation!

Solid 5! Delicious food, friendly staff, healthy alternatives, salsa bar and family owned. On top of all that the prices are astonishing! My sister and I had lunch & enough left overs to last us for dinner, all under $ 25! You won’t regret it (:

Louie’s is a small, warm place with big flavor. Great service and attention. Food is great. Ive tried quite alot of things of the menu and never been disappointed. My favorite though is the Cuban wrap or plate. Fish plates are also enticing. Plus. Plus.

Louie’s is a small family-​owned restaurant with wholesome locally-​grown food. Service is excellent — friendly and fast. Reasonable prices. They now offer beer from a local microbrewery.
This small restaurant is very reliable. Food is always freshly cooked and tasty. Fish is a specialty. My favorite is the fish tacos (choice of salmon, or tilapia or basa). They do not skimp on the fillings. I sometimes try other dishes, which are all very good, but my favorite is their tasty tacos.

This place is so inconspicuous but what a hidden gem!! Great food, casual environment, great service, and friendly staff. I have been at lunchtime and for dinner. Better grab your table when you first get there, the place fills up fast! Just fresh, well cooked, good recipes and yummy! The fish and chips are the best I have ever had. Crunchy coating and NOT greasy! Very filling!

Fish tacos are large and delicious. Mostly fish not batter like some other fish taco places. I tried this sweet habanero salsa that was outrageously delicious and not too much heat. Since I came at happy hour, I found out. So I took advantage of the prices and ordered some chicken wings. I added that habanero salsa and I was in heaven. Next was a side of black beans. You guessed it! I added that salsa and was in heaven again. Friendly people, basketball game on big screen with excellent music from the early 2000’s like Bush, U2, Disturbed and other bands created a perfect ambience. I will definitely come back to try other things. Bookmarked!

Great food, and healthy too. Great service and they serve Dale Bros. beer! My partner got the spicy chicken plate and it was sooooo good! Me and my brother got the fish and chips and it was good– I got mine with coleslaw and the coleslaw was amazing! Last time I got the shrimp tacos and they were really good too. So glad I finally found this place.

Food was great and made to order. Tortilla soup was like what your grandma would make. Service was outstanding. They genuinely wanted to make sure you enjoyed your food and visit. Plenty of options for kids. Well be back!

Healthy delicious seafood and chicken! Had the garlic basa and yams. My kids had rotisserie chicken and the husband had the spicy chicken plate. All was tasty. So glad to find this hidden gem … Can’t wait to come back

Excellent service and great food! We left very satisfied. The hunny loved the blackened Tilapia and I enjoyed the blackened Basa. OH yea we were some fatties and ordered the shrimp Diablo too which was loaded with flavor and large shrimp.
Tip: get a little extra butter garlic sauce on the side to dip your bread, you will thank me later ;)

The tastiest shrimp in upland. Friends staff great menu and prices. Would for sure eat here next time I’m in Upland.

Very good. Clean, which is HIGH ON MY LIST! First time here after driving by for forever. Had catfish and chips. Mother had shrimp, fish and chips. I like a bit more seasoning on my seafood, but all in all, very good. Service was lovely. Maureen made us feel very welcomed. I will come again.

Went a time before and it was okay. Went with my mom n yum, it was fantastic. I recommend the chicken tortilla soup. It’s not ur typical and it was WONDERFUL. Shrimp taco was great as well… not fried but grilled shrimp. Loved it… by the way… Fairly new owners… who happened to be locals. Loved it.

That’s the kind of people who eat here.
I came in a few days ago for my first time and I had a hard time deciding what I wanted. A guy got behind me in line, but I didn’t know I wanted yet so I let him go ahead of me. The guy finish up ordering and pays so I walk up to the girl and start ordering. The man then sticks his hand in front of my face to show the girl that he was shorted some money. The girl then decides to control him instead of helping me out.
I’m standing there while the girl at the counter and the manager are trying to get this one guy right. Does it really take two people to deal with one person? The three of them are having a full on conversation at this point while I’m just standing there dumbfounded.
I ended up just walking away and getting food at El Pollo Loco down the street. They had better service and manners anyways.

Luvd it here! Warm service and great food! We had salmon burrito and blackened tilapia with sides of sweet potato and beans. The sweet potato was EXCELLENT and warm ^^
Will def come back here again soon!

Food was great! Fresh! Hot! Came out in a great time frame! The service (front people) need to be a bit more friendly and welcoming if I wasn’t so stoked about the yummy smells and atmosphere when I entered I would have walked out.
I ordered the tilapia with squash on the side and a blue cheese salad! All for a bit under $ 10
The place is very comfy and clean! Homie feeling!
Definitely a new favorite spot can’t wait to try something new next time! Hopefully they will work on customer service! I still give a 5! Everyone’s deserves grace!
