Giuseppe’s Restaurant

This place was very bad the second time I went there. The service was horrible and we had to wait so long to get our food.

My son ordered the chicken kebabs which he loved. I had the chicken salad that was quite tasty. The hummus was super delicious and fresh.

Well the drive to this place is very pretty. It’s one a street where all the houses are older, high end houses. The restaurant was nice. I came for Persian food, but it also serves Italian food. The pricing is around $ 15 – 23 a plate. I had the chicken shish kebab and hummus. The dining around was full, so I decided to sit on the patio. I brought my dog with me and he enjoyed some chicken too. The Italian food looked good, and I’d come back soon, if I am able to. Two thumbs up.

I’m never coming back here. First off I’ve come here twice and the service was horrific each time. The first time I was served old tasting wine. I don’t mind people making mistakes so I kindly asked the server to correct it and to please bring me another glass. She somehow got personally offended and brought out a new bottle, poured it in front of me, then huffed away as if I insulted her. But I let it go, and my boyfriend’s friend wanted to take us here again.
There were only two other tables in the restaurant today at about noon. When we ordered, she didn’t ask me what I wanted to drink but it was the first thing I ordered. Our friend ordered a coke too and my bf ordered water. We all ordered soup with our meals too. So when the server comes back, she brings us 2 soups and walks away. No drinks. Ok, maybe she’s bringing the 3^rd soup with drinks. A few minutes goes by and she goes to the back to get drinks… For another table. Then walks away again so we can’t get her attention.
At this point I’m very upset and my bf is trying to calm me down. I wanted to put down 5 bucks and leave, but I didn’t have my car and everyone else was hungry. So we waited. She finally came back and I told her the problem but I couldn’t even look her in the eyes. Of course she has no customer service skills, or people skills in general, so she’s not smart enough to say «hey guys, I’m sorry I f*cked up here’s free drinks for everyone.»
Thank GOD I had a water bottle in my purse which is the only reason I didn’t actually say anything to her but thank you, I’m not that big of a jerk. But when you have to have the cooks and owner come out to apologize for your mess, you lose all points in my book. Why did they apologize? The food is decent and the lunch special price was fair.
As soon as I finished eating I went straight to the car and gave my bf my wallet. Apparently she didn’t give us a receipt which is highly illegal and I will be reporting this business. What kind of business verbally tells you how much you owe? That crap does not warrant my usual 20% tip. You guys should considering hiring someone else because that’s ridiculous, I don’t know how this business has 4 stars.

I’ve been coming to this restaurant with my family since i was a teenager (Im in my early 20s now) and no matter where we go, we always come back to this restaurant. I love how everything is made fresh and not tasting like it came from the freezer section at the grocery store. Even one of the owners explained to us how they take pride in fresh ingredients! I can so taste the difference here, after all it is family owned so it’s expected to have a unique taste compared to franchise-​owned restaurants… Also have to add that italian/​middle eastern food is my favorite, so this place for sure hits the spot 100%, unlike olive garden… Ive never left disappointed. Wish this place was not as secluded, but i guess it is a hidden gem after all. ;) deserves more than 5 stars
and more recognition!!!

This place is amazing! I came here for dinner one night and was blown away by the quality of the food. The ambiance is romantic, and the service is on point. Had the boneless chicken kabob and mast o moosir and mast o khiar as appetizer. The mast o moosir was one of the best I ever had in all of the Persian restaurants I have been to. If you haven’t tried this yogurt and shallot dip-​do so immediately! They offer salad instead of rice as an option for entrée plates. This was just the right type of salad to compliment the meal. There are not a lot of Persian restaurants in the area, but I appreciate and enjoyed the rare gem that is Giuseppe’s.

We were looking for places to eat around the IE and we came across this one. I had high hopes for this place since I love pasta and Mediterranean food. My husband ordered a pizza my brother some sort of pasta and myself another pasta.
So our food arrives it took them a while but hey I thought they are cooking the food from scratch so as long as it’s good we are happy and I don’t mind waiting. We finally got our plates my brothers pasta tasted very refrigerated not even warm at the food temperature. As a major for all the environmental health about restaurants the food probably wasn’t at the proper temperature it had to be at and I’m big on that! My pasta gets here and the sauce was so watery and not even warm YUCK!
The only thing that was alright was the pizza but almost 15 for a pepperoni pizza the size of a small plate, um no thanks!
I’m not one to complain to the people there because I’ve worked in food service before and I know how it feels but maybe by reading these reviews y’all do something about it because we won’t be returning for sure!
Also I don’t mind paying for food but it was overpriced for only 3 plates.

I enjoyed the the eggplant parmesan and added a side of grilled veggies. They we delicious.

So five years later we are still enjoying their food from pasta to persian specialities. They still don’t deliver tho. ;)

Great spot to go in upland the food is great !! I’ve tried many of the menu items they have all need delicious from pizza to Kabbob !!

Kabab is my favorite. Thus when I find out there is a real Persian restaurant in town, I make sure to visit. However this restaurant does not only have Persian food, they also have Italian food. When I went a few weekends ago, I was surprised to see that everyone was mostly ordering the Italian food inside. I sticked to the Persian food.
I ordered beef Soltani and Lamb. The beef Soltani was very delicious as well the lamb. Perfectly tender. The rice with saffron was also scrumptious. Being that I’m Persian I look for authenticity, and this place definitely had it. Not mention it was halal.
Will I come back? Definitely. The price however was a bit pricey.

One of the better Italian restaurants. Also has middle Easter cuisine. Reasonably priced with good service.

I have to be honest, I’ve heard great things about the Italian food at Giuseppe’s, but I’ve never tried it. My husband is Persian and we come here for their great kabob and Persian food. We come every year for fish at Persian New Year, and it’s where we bring family when they come to visit and are looking for some good kabob. Don’t be afraid to have something new like Gormeh Sabzi! So good!

Poor customer service. Refused to serve me and my family at 8 o’clock because «they close at 9» lol. How ridiculous is that? I only decided to eat here because my original choice UPLAND KABOB is closed on Sunday’s. This wasn’t my first incident with this restaurant but will definitely be my last. Save your time and money and dine in at an establishment that appreciates their customers.

I looooove Persian food and I Pizza and Italian food, so when they come together, I am one happy woman. The restaurant is decorated dark and cozy, with a beautiful ceiling piece that looks like a starry night sky. Most of the patrons seem to be regulars. It is so hard to find a GOOD Persian restaurant in my opinion, and this one hits all the marks. We typically get the platter for our appetizer, and pepperoni pizza (it was SO good!), and the beef and chicken kabob. Everything here is good and they have quite a range in selection on their menu.

I have been coming here for years now, my girlfriend brought me here and I have fallen in love with this spot. For starters we always get the cucumber yogurt dip with their pita bread. I recommend saving some of that dip for the rice that comes with their chicken kabob plate. It’s always a delicious combination!
Now my usual entrée order is the chicken kabob but I would recommend any of their kabob plates! For dessert you can never go wrong with the Persian ice cream. The restaurant is typically empty during the week but it does get busy on Friday nights. The venue is beautiful and the service from the staff is friendly.

Easily the best Persian food I’ve ever had. The servers were very friendly and attentive to your dining needs. It’s a little bit on the fine dining side, but the price was reasonable and next time I won’t come in in sweats and or flipflops.

Delicious family owned restaurant, right below the mountains, in the gorgeous area of San Antonio Heights (north Upland).
This gem is a mix of italian and mediterranean.
FOOD: Overall, excellent quality!
— Lamb and Filet Mignon kabobs, included basmati rice & roasted veggies (both delicious)
— Shirazi salad (mix of diced cucumbers/​tomatoes/​onions/​parsley/​dill) in a light vinaigrette. Delicious.
— Hummus & eggplant. Good (probably wouldn’t order again, it made us full).
— Meat Ravioli & Spaghetti combo (delicious)
— Yogurt & Cucumber sauce (amazing with the lamb)
— Great wines!
