2nd Avenue Salon

I have been going to 2^nd Avenue Salon for about five years now. I highly recommend this Salon and Chelsea, as my hairdresser is totally fantastic! She listens to what you think you want for a style or color and helps you make the absolute right choice and the end result is great! Just what you wanted. She’s been in the business for over 20 years and totally knows what she’s doing and the hair styling industry. She also does makeup for special occasions, she did mine for my son’s wedding. Hair and make up, I got many compliments on my hair and make up. She also did my little granddaughter’s hair as she was the flower girl. It turned out adorable. I truly highly recommend Chelsea and her 2^nd Avenue Salon if you are looking for a top notch hair stylist, colorist, make up, etc. Still a satisfied client.

2^nd avenue salon is outstanding! Chelsea has been my stylist for years! I have been to so many salons previous to finding Chelsea only to finally find my forever stylist! She is great at listening to what you want and delivers. She’s great with all types of hair and ages. I have so many friends and co workers that go to her and are all satisfied. She has many tricks up her sleeve and is proficient in many different techniques like a Brazilian blow out, extensions and eyebrows. Everyone I’ve recommended is happy as well. Plus, the cute downtown location adds to the experience

Carrie has been my hair dresser my mom and niece for 10 years now! She is amazing does exactly what you want! I would never go to anybody else! I’ve had my hair long right above my butt and started to go shorter and shorter, Carrie made the process so easy for me to get used to and to style!

Really cute place with decent prices and helpful hairdressers. The girl who cut my hair was Chelsea and she gave me a great cut and made some great recommendations for future hair care.

I went last month to Chelsea to have the Brazilian Blow Out done. It turned out perfect. I went back a couple of weeks later to have my hair colored and she was awesome. My hair looks perfectly natural, the color is exactly what I wanted. The hair cut she gave me turned out wonderful. On top of all this she worked me in when I need her on the same day I called her. I couldn’t be happier. She is definitely my new stylist.

Chelsea is a genius when it comes to color and style. Tell her what you are looking for and she will give you the best color for you skin tone and style. I highly recommend her to anyone. She will fix what your last stylyst messed up too.

Yesterday was my first visit to the salon and it was a great experience. Chelsea was so friendly and helpful, she gave me exactly the color and cut I was looking for, she knows what she’s doing and is definitely a Pro. Great service at an affordable price and she had me out of there in half the time than I have been accustomed to at other salons. I will definitely be a return customer!

I Unilocaled hair salons in Upland and thats when I came to this one. Debi was so kind, quick, and took great care of my hair. Made me look amazing for my friends wedding. If you need your course thick hair done right go to her! I drive from the O.C. just for her.

I have been coming her for the past 7 years to get my hair done. Chelsea is the best. Her work is amazing and I love her to pieces. My mom comes her to see chelsea as well and is always satisfied. Chels really knows hair and always gives you what you want in a hair style. I highly recommend this place for a quaintly experience in hair styling!

I have been getting my hair done by stylist Debbie for over 25 years, she is very kind, and patient I’m very picky about my hair and can never make up my mind, she no always gives awesome advice. She also been in business for about 30 years, top of the line stylist. I give you xxxxx five stars

Chelsea is an expert when it comes to my color, cut, style & extensions. She is also very flexible with appointments. Glad I met her because my hair is looking good. :-)

I’ve been going to Chelsea for like a hundred years… followed her around and then she took over ownership of 2^nd Avenue and I continued to see her for all of my hair needs, but I live in Escondido and it was getting a little challenging, so for the last year and a half, I’ve been to quite a few other hair people, trying to find someone who can do as good of a job as Chelsea, but the truth is, no one has met the challenge.
My office recently moved to Ontario and one of the positives of this move is that I’m back seeing Chelsea again, now that I’m only 10 minutes away! Hooray!
Chelsea is excellent at color (and if she gives you advice, you should listen because when she says you can’t just go from red back to blonde, she knows what she is talking about is just trying to help you — those people that do it anyway are just crappy hairstylists!). She also does those brazilian blowouts and everything else in between. I like that she can give a nice trim without leaving with my hair 3 inches shorter.
She is really experienced and will do a great job. Her prices are reasonable for the services you are getting.
I do recommend that you make an appt ahead of time because she is so nice, she will definitely try to fit you in, but if you’re getting fit in, you might have to wait. I hate waiting, so just be cool and make your appt ahead of time, like me.
I’m not 100% sure since I JUST came back, but before she did not accept credit cards, so be sure to ask when you make an appt.

I have been getting my hair done by Kandice Gonzalez for almost 3 years and I feel terrible that I have not left her a well deserved review until now.
I have gone dark to light, bangs (which was scary for me) and I have loved every phase my hair has gone through. I don’t trust anyone else with my hair and I will wait until she’s available to do my hair (even when I’ve had to wait a couple of weeks.) She is popular!
What I will say about Kandice is, hair for her is a passion before it is her job. Even when she has had the opportunity to make more money to perform a specific hairstyle, she will opt out of it if it means maintaining the health of your hair. It has taken me a year to get my hair light but I didn’t mind the wait because she ensures your hair is still beautiful in the process. She is up front and direct with managing your expectations. If it is not going to work, if it will not suit your skin tone or if it’s impossible, she will be upfront with you and let you know. How many times have we brought in a picture of a hair style we wanted, have the hair stylist enthusiastically tell us they can do it, only to find the final product isnt even close to what we wanted. I’d rather have my hair stylist, in this case, Kandice, educate me on why the hair style wont suit me rather than waste my time and confidence. On the flip side, she will give you options or get it as close as possible to what your hair will allow. I respect when the expert of their field educates me on why something will or will not work.
She’s charismatic, warm and has an appropriate sense of humor. She’s flexible with her schedule and goes out of her way to accommodate you. I highly recommend Kandice for a cut and color any day! As a bonus, she cuts my toddler’s hair too.

I have been going to Chelsea for almost 9 years! I’ve gone from blonde to brunette, short to long and I have never been disappointed! Chelsea is always willing to work with your schedule to get you in! And it’s soo affordable! I’ve referred her to tons of people! I get asked everywhere who colors my hair! I recommend her to everyone!

Our Girl Scout troop went to the salon today to earn a badge and just have fun getting their hair done together. As the mother of a thick, long, curly haired African-​American child, I was a little nervous and considered not letting her participate. It turns out that they have a black stylist. Debbie was great! All the girls were just getting cute quick curls and up-​dos but Miss Debbie took time with my six year old. This was my child’s first real salon visit. Debbie made her, and me, very comfortable and did a beautiful job with her hair! My hair is also not chemically processed and I would go to Debbie to get my hair washed, flat ironed/​pressed, and styled.

The only hair stylist I have ever trusted recently quit to be a stay at home mom (Awesome for her! Not so awesome for me :(). I was referred to Felicia by a friend of mine who had just gotten a super cute cut and color. I have had my hair butchered so many times, I decided to take my friend’s advice instead of taking a chance with a random hair stylist.
I’m so glad I did! I’ve been growing my hair out from a pixie cut for the last few months, and I’ve been going in for trims regularly to avoid a mullet catastrophe. I have wavy to curly hair, so it’s hard to get a good cut that looks great when I straighten it *and* when I wear it curly. Felicia was great about listening to what I wanted and all my concerns.
She trimmed my hair perfectly, taking off very little length (what hair dresser actually does that?!) and fixing my layers. She styled it straight and it looked great (I even got compliments from strangers that day), but I was worried what it would look like when it was curly. Turns out, it curled perfectly! No awkward top poofy layer of curls, it all curled nice and evenly with lots of great texture.
Her two sons were at the salon while she was working, but they were never a distraction and behaved very well (she’s a great mom!). The only thing I think could be better is if there were some hair/​fashion magazines to look at while waiting in the lobby. Maybe I just missed them, but all I saw was a copy of ESPN magazine on the coffee table, and there weren’t many haircuts to browse through in there. :P Oh, and Felicia doesn’t accept credit cards yet, but she said that will change soon.
So basically what I’m saying is: Go see Felicia! She is nice, easy to talk to, and does wonders with very stylish, low-​maintenance hair cuts!
