A lot of people really like this place. While they do seem to provide quality food, it just doesn’t suit my taste. They’ve got a fresh taste with lots of vegetable inclusions on their dishes that ultimately just don’t really satisfy a carnivore lover. Their weird asian style smoothies are awesome though!

This place has absolutely amazing phở. I used to live in Houston, boasting the largest Vietnamese community in the world outside of Vietnam, and was able to try all kinds of authentic Vietnamese food. Pho4Star is the ONLY place in San Antonio that gets anywhere close to that authentic taste. Portion size is enormous and prices are very reasonable. I love to start with the fresh, shrimp summer rolls, move to phở, and finish with either bubble tea or mangoes with sweet cream. Lunch is usually pretty busy, but Mrs. Kim always finds a spot for guests! If you’re in the mood for phở, be sure to give this place a try.

Hands down the best Phở in all of San Antonio. I met the owner, Mrs. Kim, and she is the genuine deal. Apparently, she makes her own phở broth from scratch every day… it simmers overnight to create that amazing flavor. I also had freshly made shrimp summer rolls, that were the most delicious I’ve ever had. The restaurant is fairly small and was absolutely packed during lunch… probably a good sign for a mom-and-pop place. I will definitely go back again.

Good large bowls of phở and yummy bubble teas. Fresh and delicious. Service was ok. They kept bringing us other food for a different table.

The food is the same as all Vietnamese restaurants but this one has drink containers stored in the ice maker

Alright, I had to put my 2 cents in. I tried the food in this little hole in the wall, I was really impressed with the freshness as well as the quality of the food. Everything was really good. I’m done typing, just go try it!

Very good spicy phở!!! I came from Hawaii, where we can find many Phở places in any corner… But this place is the bomb better then many Asian Phở that I had in Hawaii

I have been eating at Phở 4 Star for years. I always get the lemongrass chicken with a spring roll. It is consistently delicious so I haven’t had the heart to expand my horizons. If you get it, don’t you dare skip the fish sauce — that is what makes the dish. In fact, get extra. Fresh veggies, ginger and lemongrass, tons of flavor. I don’t feel weighed down after despite the large portions. The summer rolls and bubble tea are good too. I’m intrigued by the hot pots but haven’t tried them yet.

Some fantastic phở! They need to expand their space though, always seems to full! No complaints about this place, brings me back to my days in Seattle. They also have raspberry bubble tea, which seems to be a rarity.

Overall, I had an excellent first experience here. Walking in right away, almost every table was smashing that phở, the smells made my mouth water. The restaurant was small but well organized and clean, the service was prompt and friendly and the wait was very reasonable. It was hot and fresh, perfectly seasoned and a fair amount of meats and veggies. More veggies available upon request. I will gladly return here and try other dishes.

We’ve only had carry-out, so I can’t speak on their in-house dining service. They’ve been polite when we’ve placed and picked up our orders, though. I love the combination phở, grilled lemongrass chicken, and shaking beef. The ingredients are fresh. Nothing has ever tasted stale. On a negative note, the lychee and milk tea boba drinks are gross. The lychee one tastes like what nail polish remover smells like, and the milk tea is way too sweet. The honeydew and Thai tea –flavored ones are good, though. I had to take away a star due to having to call the carry-out number four times or more before they picked up(has happened on multiple occasions, different days and times of the week) and for the less than palatable boba drink flavors. BUT overall, this place is our go-to whenever we’re craving Vietnamese.

So my first time trying Vietnamese Food was almost two years ago when I was in Victoria, British Colombia. I’m 22 years old so you can say I had a deprived childhood but anyways, I continued eating it when I lived in Seattle, WA as well. I moved back home after I got out of the military and gave up all hope on finding a decent Vietnamese Restaurant in this city. Then one fateful day I tried Phở 4 Star. Jesus Christ himself must have had some say in the building of this restaurant cause the food and the service is immaculate. Today is my 5th time ever going and once again, I was NOT disappointed. Seriously though, I recommend this place 10⁄10 times.

They have hot pot here and we loved it. The selection and variety is great and the broth they provide is delicious. You can enjoy with your friends and family over the hot pot with great conversation and great food. Must try you won’t be missing out. We had the seafood and meat combo and as you can see in the picture you can also have a vegetarian friend join and help eat the noodles and tofu are awesome too they have both rice noodle and egg noodle. :) Have one side that’s spicy broth and the other non spicy both taste great with perfect balance to go with your meat or clam, mussel, fish or calamari you want to cook and enjoy.

First time here today. I read a lot of reviews for the Phở but only one picture for the pad thai. I was joansin’ for thai and the restaurant was on my way home. Placed an order for the chicken pad thai. I think I’ll be a returning costumer. It was real good. For around $ 8 you get a lot of food and that’s cool.

Walked in to a very clean and well lit restaurant. Ordered the friend spring roll and it was perfect. Tons of meat packed inside of it. Our phở was piping hot and very flavorful. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants good phở. Would have given them 5 stars if they weren’t out of the sticky sweet rice and mango. Excellent visit and we will come back again

Five stars would have been given if the owner was there to make the mango and sweet rice dessert! :) One must have the full dining experience. The Phở(great hangover food) and Gi cun were plentiful and yummy. Will be back for dessert!

Awesome and consistent phở! Having been here numerous times it’s about time I post a review. Growing up on the west coast with a high population of asian and Vietnamese restaurants, I have tried all the best and always expect to have yummy broth that is not over or under salted. Pho4star never fails to disappoint. They have all the regular meat, vegetable, and seafood phở options on their menu as well as vermicelli and rice. Servers are always attentive and friendly, and happy to answer questions for those new phở like some of my friends I have introduced. Pricing is easily affordable under $ 10 for a meal and typically $ 7-$ 9. Restaurant is clean and well organized as well! Even though this is a twenty minute drive from my house, it is definitely my go to phở place in San Antonio :)

**Updated** After randomly selecting items off the menu, and getting great dishes every time, we made this place a regular. Great food, great service, I highly recommend it. *After several more visits I had to drop a star due to inconsistencies with the dishes. I would have the same dish and sometimes wouldn’t be as good.
