Food is always consistent. Hot made to order. Generous portions of pasta, fresh hot rolls offered no matter what you order. In past have gotten their chicken wings and they were a breaded deep fried type that seemed like they were previously frozen. Last night we got the BBQ wings with molasses that were on the specials menu and dang they were excellent! They were fresh and not breaded. The sauce was really tasty! If I had one comment they need to get wet naps because a trip to restroom was necessary to wash hands before we could enjoy our pizza. Try the wings!

The best! Very consistent and extremely well run. The food is very good and service is always top notch. This place is a bit of an institution on Unionville and it deserves it. Great job!

So we moved to the area less than a year ago and George’s is probably the closest pizza restaurant to our home. Figured we’d give it a go. So happy we did because it’s great! Portions are quite large but who complains about that?! Their sauce is one of the best I’ve tasted and their mozzarella sticks are delicious. Atmosphere is very laid back and friendly, family owned and operated. Love it!

Great location tucked right in the center of town. We’ve eaten here several times. Each time we were happy with the good food and friendly wait staff. For today’s lunch, on Christmas Eve day, my wife ordered a lunch special. Grilled chicken with mushrooms and onions with a side of sauteed green beans and broccoli. I ordered a Philly steak sandwich. Also we both ordered a cup of corn chowder(mine was substituted for the fries that would have come with my sandwich). First the corn chowder. It comes with the little bag of those Westminster oyster crackers. This soup had just the right thickness and had a taste of some unusual spices. Maybe tarragon or rosemary? I’m not sure but it was delish. Highly recommended. As per our tradition I tried my wifes dish first. The chicken was tender and moist. A good portion of chicken was provided. The veggies were sauteed to perfection(slightly crisp not soft or mushy). In a word, delicious. My Philly steak sandwich was cooked to perfection too. Thinly sliced steak with peppers, onions, and cheese on a hoagie bread roll. Not much else to describe here except to say is was very good. This place is usually full with customers. It is clean and the staff is friendly and prompt. The only thing to be wary of here is that they charge for soda and juice«refills». This policy is listed on the menu so make sure to order your soda or juice without ice unless you want to pay in full for another half drink with ice. We will return and suggest that you do too. Enjoy.

There comes a point in Unilocal time when a location, restaurant or otherwise, earns itself a 5 star review. George, his pizza and restaurant and The Olive Bar(which this review does not include) has done it. You’ve got to be great to earn yourself 4 stars but 5 is simply outstanding. My beloved hasn’t been feeling well lately because of surgery, so while we wanted to celebrate our usual«Wednesdate» to break up the monotony of a painfully long week, we also wanted to stick close to home. And I am almost embarassed to admit that George’s is just a short 5 minute trek from my house and this is my first time here. Whoops. I digress. We walked in to some fantastic pizza aromas and were immediately greeted by 2 cheery girls who told us we could seat ourselves so we chose a cozy booth right in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was so great(I’m sorry I don’t remember your name) and welcomed us. We commented on how beautiful the décor was inside and she told us they recently had gotten some renovations done. You can tell the building is classic with exposed brick that looks over some of the booths along the wall. The flooring is a beautiful neopolitan slate and gives an airy feel to the open and bustling kitchen. I loved looking into it while we waited for our food. And ohhh, the food! Salads before our meals were plentiful with a radicchio and iceberg blend. The blue cheese and parmesan peppercorn dressings were yummy and flavorful. Mike had the antipasto salad. It. Was. Gargantuan. For $ 11, it came loaded with meats and cheese, fresh vegetables and a ton of that beautiful greens mixture again. It was a mixing bowl filled with delight. I only wish I was exaggerating… I ordered the Chicken Neptune with shells and red sauce as my side. The main dish itself was super fantastically delicious. 2 generous chicken breasts covered in seafood stuffing with melted cheese on top. And, I’m going to make a bold statement. Once it’s out there, there is no turning back either. George’s seafood stuffing is THEBEST I have ever eaten. It’s better than Saybrook Fish. And, I love Saybrook Fish. It’s a huge portion just filled with crab and shrimp, scallop and very little breading. It’s amazing. The sauce is a chunky, sweet red sauce. I love it. I truly do. Everything about our visit to George’s was spot on. I recommend it to families and couples alike. Great for all. FANTASTIC food, atmosphere and service. George… I love you, you fine food cookin’ fella!

My family had a surprise 50th birthday party for my uncle here and it could not have been a better experience. We rented out a room and there were at least 50 of us there. The server, I believe her name was Irina, kept up with our drink orders(and we can really pound them down!) and also with the set up and clean up of all the food, plates etc. We arrived early to set up some balloons and cake, etc, and they were very accommodating. The food was great — we had salad, ziti, veggies and chicken Marsala catered and everyone enjoyed it. The logistics of the room were perfect for a large party. There was one long table, a few other tables set up and three or so booths. There was enough room for everyone to sit and enjoy their meal and still space for people to mill around, chatting in groups with their drinks. Plates, water and drinks remained stocked the whole time. I heard many comments from our family about the quality of the food and service. I would definitely recommend George’s for a large party and I can only imagine that regular dining would produce a similarly awesome experience. Thanks, Geroge’s!

One of my all time favorites! Been coming to Georges for over 30 years! There is a reason they have grown and are still in business. Fantastic food and the owners are wonderful. Great place to come or order takeout.

Best bang for your buck if you’re secretly a fat kid like me. I almost never finish a meal there and I’m a beast. Canadian Mounty grinder or chick parm are a must

We have eaten here whenever we come to the east coast. Very good food, & good service. It could use some updating & have smaller portions. Hope to be back next year.

Family owned and run Italian place — best pizza around, pastas, grinders, salads, calamari. You name it. Great waitstaff. They gave our 2.5 yo a fresh huge chocolate chip cookie. We’ll be back.

Some of the better pizza I’ve had in the area. Got me a pepperoni and bacon pie and it was pretty darn good. Sauce and cheese is not overwhelming and doesn’t taste cheap, the crust is buttery and crispy like the Pizza Hut pan pizzas are. The salads are also good and fresh. Their thousand island dressing tastes just like the Big Mac special sauce.

I really want to say something good about this place but that’s going to be tough. Overly huge portions I believe are trying to make up for the quality. The place itself is your run of the mill pizza place. The food is not reflective of a good pizza house though. The BBQ sauce could be compared to colored sugar water. The salads could use quite a bit of work. Maybe next time I will try the pizza in better hopes that this place will have a more redeeming quality, but for now, there are much better places albeit smaller portions. Quality over quantity.

Their veggie pizza is done very nicely. Nice spices. Also try their margarita pizza. Their dinners are plentiful, enough for lunch the next day. Their sauce is very flavorful, it makes everything take great.

High prices but the quality is not there. I ordered the chicken gyro and the chicken was very dry. The tzaziki sauce was horrid it almost seemed rancid. It was like a mayo sauce instead of a fresh sauce with cucumber. The pizza crust tastes like cardboard I would rather get a pizza from a box from Stop and Shop.

We went for dinner and hadn’t been there in a while. Now I remember why. Although the portions are big the service was just ok. The hostess pointed to an open booth instead of seating us. My biggest gripe is that they charged us for refills but didn’t tell us when we ordered the refill. Who charges for refills nowadays anyways?

I’ve been coming here since George’s had about two tables. The food here is beyond excellent. Fantastic pizza, grinders, calzones and plenty of other things if you can get past that stuff. Mike and Aspi are generous, friendly and welcoming owners. I travel long distances to come here.

I should preface that I am slightly biased because George’s was the pizza shop I grew up on, if we went out for pizza for any reason it was to George’s. The food has only gotten better, the service is always friendly and the owners are kind wonderful people. Fresh ingredients with a lot of flavor and a menu with a wide selection of far more than just pizza. Adding the Olive Bar a few years ago added a vibrant fun scene and a well needed local bar in an area where it was lacking. Glad to see a local place survive and thrive.

Even though it’s relatively nearby, it had been a few years since our last visit here. But on a recent visit, we were happy to see that the place had been renovated and it was PACKED. Of course, the obvious question is: Yes, but is it good? I’m happy to report the answer is easily yes. Among the things we tried: Fried Ravioli(which was outstanding — some of the best we’ve had since our days in St. Louis), a Moussaka(enough to feed 2 people), and the pizza. The pizza is New England Greek-style, cut into the squares. But it has a nice rich tomato sauce and gooey cheese-goodness. Fresh out of the oven, it was hard to resist. The kids loved it too. And then the small salad(enough for 2 – 3) with a meatball(which seemed enough for 4), was delicious as well. Service was prompt, friendly, and attentive. Overall, for a family restaurant in the burbs, this is about all you could hope for. Gourmet? No, not really. But really, who cares, when the food is this delicious.
