Disappointing treatment. $ 175 for a mud wrap, sea salt scrub and moisturizing service. If we pay that much, we expect it to be amazing, not sub-par. There wasn’t enough mud to cover my body, I asked don’t you do hands? No, not usually, I don’t think there’s enough mud left… why would there not be? Isn’t that what I’ve paid for? The scrub was light and applied only using the very tips of her fingers. The moisturizing treatment came and she declares that her room doesn’t have a face cradle so I’ll have to do without. I’ve got neck injuries, but whatever right? Then, she leaves my face dry and untouched. I have to ask about this also, do you have anything for my face? I can’t use that oil on your face, I can probably find something else though. Why would a moisturizing service not include moisturizing my face? Not worth the money. Should’ve paid less for more elsewhere.

This place never let’s me down! I feel hirrible that I have not previously left a review! I have had a massage from Tom twice –both great and today was Jan… also excellent!!! Helsa, who runs the spa desk is amazing!!! From my 1st call to fitting in three massages at the same time she was absolutely wonderful! After our massages we wanted drinks in the pool area and Helsa made it happen! Never made us feel like we were putting her our and made all out requests feel easy-breezy! We ate at the restaurant outside and Jordan was our waiter, he was also totally wonderful! I love Alderbrook-from the spa to the restaurant to parking a boat or the valet-everyone is so kind and makes you feel special and at home!!! Special thanks today to Jan and Helsa who made for a great girls day-you guys were awesome!!!

I have only had 2 massages in my life – both in Thailand and both traumatizing. One was a violent Thai massage and the other I was left wondering if my masseuse had tried to proposition me. Needless to say, I wasn’t excited about getting another massage but we got a deal so I thought I would try my first American massage. My husband and I chose the couples hot stone massage, and it was simply amazing. His therapist was a man and mine was a woman, Ann Marie. She was incredibly professional, friendly, and kind. She asked me beforehand what I wanted to focus on, and she worked out so many knots and kinks that I didn’t even realize I had. The hot stones felt so good! If you haven’t tried this type of massage before, I highly recommend it. The combination of heat and pressure with the smooth stones is fantastic. Afterward, my body felt so relaxed and loose. Also, Ann Marie maintained my modesty at all times, and I felt very comfortable. At the end, they were waiting for us outside with glasses of water and truffles! Other things I appreciated were the womens locker rooms that had plenty of clean robes, showers, and all the toiletries a woman could need including hair elastics, disposable razors, hairspray, and«feminine hygiene products.» You can also directly access the sauna, steam room, and pool after your spa treatment… just don’t forget your hotel room key! The relaxation room that you go into before and after the spa treatment was not super relaxing though. It was quite crowded, there were some children in there, and there was a man with his bare chest exposed. Very awkward. I would have preferred a separate womens and mens relaxation room, or at least a larger room so that you don’t have to sit right next to kids or hairy chests. However, it is a small part of the time that you are there, and having a relaxation room is an overall good concept. Lastly, the front desk receptionist was very welcoming, helpful, and informative. She really set the tone of the experience!

Booked a couple’s massage. They greeted us and brought into the relaxation room that had apples and tea. The massage was some of the best non-eastern deep tissue therapeutic massages I’ve ever had. Excellent forearm and elbow techniques. My girlfriend had lasting relief from her neck strain. The locker is pretty standard with average quality shower products. And the hot tub and pool, while filled with kids during the day, has a great view of the hood canal.

Came to the Spa for a pampering facial and massage for my 14th wedding anniversary. Both of were pretty awesome. First, the facial was among the best I’ve ever had. I have sensitive skin, and overly vigorous poking and prodding makes my skin super angry, but at the same time products that are too gentle don’t do anything for me. The 90 minute Signature Facial started with a foot soak, which was super relaxing and set the mood for the rest of the experience. Everything was perfect — the esthetician had a gentle touch and was really knowledgeable. My skin was glowing afterward! I also had a 60 minute Therapeutic massage and it was quite good — I’m very picky about my massages and usually don’t like«spa» massages(they usually don’t apply enough pressure), but this one was fantastic. Laurie was experienced and did her best to relax my admittedly super wound up muscles. I would definitely recommend her to other visitors.

I love the co-ed relaxation room, dry sauna and steam room. My BF and I get massages together all the time and we really enjoy getting to spend the pre-time together. Having access to all that, plus the hot tub and pool was terrific. The locker rooms are really nice — tons of fluffy towels, stocked showers with rain heads, lots of toiletries(q-tips, yay!!), and really helpful staff. We both had great massages — the signature massage that included aromatherapy, hot stones, and whatnot was just what we needed after a long weekend of hiking and kayaking.

Despite what the other reviewer mentioned I *have* gotten my best massage ever here — just yesterday in fact, and from Barbara. Great, friendly staff and massages that won’t quit. Prices are also reasonable if you compare to other resorts. They offer access to the pool/hot tub/steam room/sauna that are shared with other resort guests when you book at the spa. It’s not ‘exclusive’ in that regard, but they are nice shared faciliities. In particular the steam room rocks. We will definitely be going back now that they have worked to improve the spa(when last we visited in ’08 we weren’t as impressed). For a place closer to Seattle with a nice peaceful vibe and great staff — we were very pleased.

I get regular massages here from Tom. Overall, a good experience each time. The spa itself — isnt’ really a spa — no whirlpool, a co-ed quiet area. It really just a locker room and waiting area. The best massage ever… no. Competent and relaxing — absolutely. I haven’t found any better on the Olympic peninsula. I would recommend going here.
