Extremely poor service, waited over an hour after ordering to get our burger & fish & chips. We were told that we could only order off the bar menu but about ½ hr later, the people behind us asked for things off the dinner menu and received them before we received ours. They must have been local!!! Would never go again!

This place is great! Brought my boyfriend here for his birthday for an extended weekend. Even though it rained 80% of the time we still had so much fun. The hot tub was perfect to keep us warm an relaxed. Lisa from the office Robin the hostess/bartender and the chef were all just so welcoming and friendly. The kayaks were a little shaky but great for sticking around the bay. We will definitely be back again!!!

Hubby and I stopped in this past Sat. afternoon shortly after 3:00. We had checked online and tried calling beforehand(just a recording, which stated happy hour every day which turns out wasn’t the case, ugh) but since it said pub opened at 3:00 we assumed it meant for food. Unfortunately we found it was strictly drinks until 4 when the restaurant opens. So we walked around the lovely stream lined grounds for a few minutes to kill some time as we were starving. Upon looking at the pub menu we found that we’d noticed that on the online menu the oysters were missing. We asked the server and he said they have them but just not on the menu(?). So we ordered the ½ doz. shooters, the steamed clams, the lemon drop prawns and a ceasar salad, all to share between the two of us. The shooters and clams came out first, nice that the clams are accompanied with several pieces of flatbread to soak up the yummy clam broth. The shooters were a very nice small oyster but the sauce was more like a tomato paste in thickness, although tasted fine. The clams were very tiny no bigger than the size of a penny but very tasty, glad the bread came to help as a filler. Then the salad and lemon prawns arrived. So glad we ordered a full size salad, as it was perfect amount but not overly large for the 12.00 price. The lemon prawns we ordered were due to seeing several comments about them in the past, so it was kind of a splurge to order 3 seafood app’s. They were nice large plump prawns,(6) I believe. The lemon flavor was subtle, it was like a light batter on them but in no way heavily coated or looking like a fried prawn. I just think a grilled marinated prawn would be better as it was kind of confusing with the light coating almost having a soggy texture with the marinade on them… but were good and are obviously a popular app. The atmosphere is cozy, dark and although small it had a pleasant intimate feel. It really is a darling cottage rest/pub that offers cottages to rent for the night in a beautiful setting across the street from the canal waterfront. I’d love to return when they offer live music which is a couple times a week I believe the server said. He was quite loud for being in a small quiet pub, he really could have used a filter a couple times while we were there. He was a good server though and made good well drinks. He mentioned that the place was going thru some new management changes, not quite sure what was meant but sounded like menu changes, etc. We will be returning, it was a fun experience overall and the food/drinks were quite good! We are big seafood lovers so it’s nice to have another option from Alderbrook resort.

This place presented an absurd experience. Sign on the road said restaurant was open, but dining room was locked. Tried calling the next day to get the scoop(several times) and no one answered the phone. The parking lot could use better lighting. So some of the basic logistics are a challenge.

Gave Robinhood another try recently. I really wanted to like this place since we live close and it’s hard to find a good place to go to eat for a special occasion, but honestly I just cannot. The food is just OK… I’ve had much better and for the price, well it just doesn’t work at all. They just really need to step things up and make their food better. Sad but true. We won’t be back. Update: Going to give this one more try since the new Manager wrote to me asking us to come back in and try their new menu. I’m really happy to see someone take the time to read their reviews and respond back in a positive manner. Fingers crossed that things have improved and we can support our local establishment, which we really want to do!

Service was poor… took between 20 – 25 minutes to get a diet coke, we weren’t able to make a substitution of salad for broccoli and the fish was soggy from grease. We will never return to the restaurant portion of the Robimood, however, we will likely try the bar portion during our next trip to Union. The ambiance was lacking as well. Lighting was too brite and the fake candles in the holders didn’t work. This is touted as an upscale restaurant with prices to match… Money is much better spent at the Alderbrook just up the road. The server could be friendly, hence the star.

I have had dinner in the dining room, before the restaurant was remodeled to suit wealthier clientele. It was ok. Gourmet and kind of pricey. But what I really want to comment on is the«pub» which is really just a bar. They have a sign out almost every night that says«Live Music». It couldn’t be further from the truth. On New Year’s eve we were treated to extremely loud(for the size of the bar, and lousy acoustics) and obnoxious DJ music. People were still having dinner and trying to talk at 9 pm when it started. When we asked the sound guy to turn the volume down, he said that management had told them that the dance party was supposed to start and nine and they were ten minutes late. The time before this, a woman singer with a guitarist were performing but the mike was turned up way too loud and the vocals were bouncing off the walls. The ceiling is very low in this place and it doesn’t take much. I don’t know how anyone can stand to call this a neighborhood pub, when its really just a watering hole where people get loud and obnoxiously drunk. The wait staff doesn’t help by constantly pushing drinks before you have touched the drink they brought you five minutes ago.

Hubby and I stayed here for the weekend for our anniversary. All of the staff was great, helpful and friendly. We ate and drank both nights at the pub and Gil was awesome. Such a fun guy and really made us feel welcome. The food was amazing. :)

Very nice Christmas Eve experience. Our server was incredibly friendly and the food was good. We especially enjoyed the signature lemon drop prawns — yummy!

Robin Hood has always been a great place to go. Im saddened by the food now that the restaurant has changed owners, its not the same. We have gone there a few times to give it a chance but big disappointment.

There aren’t many places that can stack prime rib, music, crab artichoke dip, and a lovely atmosphere and mix it up into a digestible and easy to enjoy soup. Well. This is one of those places. All the stars.

It’s so sad that the restaurant changed ownership. What used to be a very classy place that served locally grown produce and Pacific Northwest meats and fish has turned into a completely common restaurant with food that isn’t creative and is mostly insipid and the service subpar.

Really good food, wonderful clams, steak, lasagna… it was all incredibly good but ended up costing more than we expected. $ 180 for our family of 6 with three of the four kids eating off the children’s menu and only one alcoholic drink(a glass of wine.) Very nice outdoor seating, though, and great service.

My husband and I stayed at Robin Hood village so naturally we ate at restaurant as well since there aren’t many choices around. The artichoke dip was good, my burger tasted like meatloaf an above bun, it was strange. the fries were tasty. My husband got the fish burger which he liked. We got the brownie sundae for desert which was good. Service was great, I loved our waitress. We sat outside which was nice but our table was falling apart and very wobbly. The food wS not good enough for us to eat there again. We used a groupon deal we had purchased which the waitress knew nothing about, that resulted in being mischarged twice. Another waitress helped us a bit too and explained that the owners had not communicated about what the groupon deals were.

Visiting from the Bellevue area, and Robinhood was recommended to us by a local winery rep. Absolutely incredible establishment. Beautiful surroundings and Laurie provided us with some of the most outstanding service I’ve received in a very long time. The food was amazing, and we will definitely be back to try the steamed clams on a separate trip. If nothing else, you MUST try the cheesecake!

I have been going to Robin Hood since I was a kid. I am 45 now, and have been here throughout different owners in my adult life. I have always had a great experience… Until now. We both ordered medium rare new york steaks. They both arrived at the table medium well at best. They still tasted great, but a rookie mistake for such a legendary place. Service was less than favorable, a young and inexperienced female that was less than attentive. I hope they regain what was once a favorite dining experience.

My fiancé and I stayed at Robin Hood Village from Tuesday to Thursday. We decided to have a dinner out on Wednesday night since the restaurant/pub is closed on Monday-Tuesday. Wednesday night is amateur night for singing, so we thought it would be a cool way to listen to some music while eating. Based on the reviews here, we knew that the foods would be good. My fiancé ordered pork chop(from Chef’s Special) and I ordered burger(from Pub Menu). We got Apple Crisp for dessert. Need we to say more? My goodness… We were surprised for a little place like this, the foods were great! We understand the inconvenience of not having the restaurant/pub open like normal restaurant hours can be frustrating, but we felt very lucky to be able to try out the foods because the pub is the place that opens from Wednesday to Sunday for winter hours. Perhaps the restaurant/pub will actively open more during the summer time. The pub setting is so laid back. The bartender is really nice, and he watches out of everyone. He got us seated and made sure we got fed and got our drinks. Haha. The people at the pub are small town folks, and some of them are just like us… from the city getaways. Everyone is just so nice and laid back. They are super friendly to one another, and the music just kept on rolling. We will definitely need to come back to the restaurant part to try the fine dining experience since we’ve read about how cozy the restaurant environment is.

Quaint little spot near Alderbrook resort. Was here for a weekend getaway and many folks recommended this spot for dinner. Get a reservation — as it is a real small spot. Here’s what we dined on: oysters, Thai shrimp — yum!, clams in butter/vino, braised short rib and ravioli with truffles. Everything was good. Was it the best thing I ever ate? Probably not– but a way better option than the hotel grub down the street. The wine list however is A plus. And not too steep!(Leonetti is on the list!) Service was swift and ambiance is nice n cozy. I’ll definitely consider another go the next time I’m at Alderbrook.

I’m only knocking it down one star because the restaurant part isn’t that great but I LOVE the bar!!! Gilbert is one of the bartenders there and he is SO bad ass! We always have a good time when he is bartending and his drinks are always on point! I work over at Alderbrook so we occasionally stop in to have a drink and some food. They have a great burger and the mac-n-cheese is to die for! The moral of the story is go to the bar when Gilbert is working, sit at the bar and let the good times roll :)

If I was rating this place on drinks and desserts, I would give it 5 stars, hands down. But I’m not. The service I have had the times I have been there has been just«okay». Not bad, but not exceptional. When you go to a restaurant with plates priced like the ones here, you should be getting exceptional service like I ALWAYS do at The Alderbrook or Anthony’s in Olympia. We had to wait 15 minutes to flag someone down to get salt and pepper shakers for the table; I guess they presume that everything they serve is perfectly seasoned? It isn’t. The lemon-drop prawn appetizer is a local favorite, and it’s very good. Sometimes they get a little carried away with the sauce though, and then it’s a bit overpowering. The potato skins are also pretty good, and the order is easily big enough to share. The last 2 dinner entrees I have had there have been underwhelming. I had a «crispy rockfish» special that was overcooked, deep-fried rockfish that tasted quite… fishy. You know what I mean. The most recent dinner entrée was another special, a beef tenderloin salad with house made soy vinaigrette dressing. The dressing tasted like warmed up oil, and the tenderloin was more like chew-forever-loin. BUTTHEDESSERTS. If you are a dessert person, there is nowhere better around. The bread pudding is CRAZYGOOD. We get it every time and share it. Last time we also got the night’s «drunken donut,» which was a warm homemade donut drizzled in apple liqueur and then rolled in cinnamon oats. It was also incredibly good. Go to The Alderbrook for dinner. Then come here for dessert.
