Every single item in there is a good 70 cents to a dollar more than anywhere else. Definitely not shopping here anymore… AMAZONNNNNNNN

Drove here from Bayonne to simply get toner for printer. My company uses office max /Office Depot for services and we receive a purchasing discount from them. I planned to buy 2 of each color. First off the manager Larry was snide and rude. They have ink in the front of the store behind the register. But they have an ink/toner section which they prompt you to take a slip to the front to purchase. The store manager said, «for future reference there’s a sign that says don’t take slips just come up.» There was no sign, and if there was so what not worth making a smart ass comment. Then they had a new kid up there looking overwhelmed. I gave him my slips, he got my ink then tried to scan my retail connect card. Of course it wasn’t working. He didn’t even know what it was. Called the manager Larry back over. Larry didn’t even attempt to help he couldn’t tell me they didn’t take my card fast enough. Extremely poor service. Uttered something about converting. But I know they could have done more but I got the impression that didn’t want to be bothered no wonder this place has poor ratings. I wish my company would have went with Staples instead. They are everywhere and the service is better.

Printing sucks. Friend just wanted to print a form from her email, and the only associate behind the printing station was nice enough but backed up helping other customers. After waiting about 15 minutes she asked what we needed and my friend told her and she showed us the computer and said to log on. My friend tried to log on her email but it wouldn’t load and we thought the connection was broken but after standing around trying to refresh the page, this super cranky man on the computer next to us asked in the rudest voice what we were doing, and was just awful. Apparently to use the computer to print anything is 3 $ for 15 minutes on top of what you pay for printing, they expect you to read all the tiny print around the computer to know this or something. Just awful. Go to staples or your library.

Time to get organized! What do you do with all the mail and important papers on your table? Ugh I waited too long and now I am paying the price. Came here to buy a file bin, affordable hanging folders and cute post its. I found it all. It’s a very small store not too much variety of one item but they have the essentials. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was because of their sneaky way of making you buy more items to apply a coupon. I had $ 24.97 before taxes and I couldn’t use their $ 5 off of $ 25!!! Yup I was forced to buy a .69 lollipop to get $ 5 off. I figured .69 for $ 5 hey why not, my issue is why is that stupid .99 in all their prices… The cashier was so nice I just couldn’t be too upset about it.

First, kudos to Benson Y. who wrote the first Unilocal review for this store. While my experiences differ from his in the details, our general impressions are fairly similar. What Office Depot chooses to stock differs a bit from what Staples offers, and that difference(plus the fact that they offer Brown Gold coffee K-Cups) has brought be to this store once or twice a year. The experience has never been smooth or completely comfortable, but the annoyances were usually small. Certainly smaller than Benson’s, and thus two stars. This is a retail establishment which appears to value the convenience and leisure time of their staff over any notion of customer service. Some visits have seen pushy and aggressive salespersons, but most have failed to locate a salesperson interested in assisting me.

My mission was simple: purchase some monitor wipes for my laptop, scanner and monitor at home. You figure an office supply store the size of Office Depot would have it. I walked in and found the place very clean, every organized, everything was clearly marked — but there was no section for computer care products. They had everything from P-Touch labelers, to pens, to binders to 3M hooks to hang stuff on the wall. But I couldn’t find the wipes. So then I go to the computer section. Laptops, desktops, monitors, speakers, headsets abounded — but no equipment you’d normally see like vacuum cleaners for the keyboard or swabs etc. I looked around for someone to help, but everyone was already busy with a customer. I walked the store three times waiting for someone to free up, but nope. I gave up and decided to exit. I get to the exit, and an employee has it blocked off with a cart carrying big boxes of office furniture. Seriously? You’re blocking the only exit in the front of the store? I looked at the boxes for a second, tried to find another door — there wasn’t one(that wouldn’t set off alarms anyhow) so I decided to squeeze past the boxes and get out. Now I remember why I go to Staples for stuff like this.
