AVE Union Furnished Suites and Apartments

This place is right down the street from my work. When I travel to this office, I always check to see if there is any availability at AVE.
The apartments are fully furnished and large, and the kitchen has everything.
I was pleased with the cleanliness of my room, and the folks at the front desk were always so nice and helpful.
Other pluses… free continental breakfast in the morning, free paper, nice gym, beautiful pool area, easy walk over to the trains, and good rates.
Some minuses… Union in general is blah, no restaurants or grocery stores within walking distance of the place.

The fully furnished apartment living experience is very similar to that of a hotel: nice, traditional furnishings all kept in good condition; maid service once a week; a reasonably good gym that is rarely crowded; attentive friendly front desk service and a good kitchen. They even have magnetic keys.
Cons: apt entrance way had a funky smell for the first few weeks, showers have really low water pressure and my smoke detector had a false alarm 3 times in one day. Union itself is incredibly uninspiring but Ave is almost literally on top of the JT Transit stop.
Overall, not a bad stay but can’t really comment on the price.
Update: in a cheap attempt at cost savings, they «postponed» my paid maid service until after my checkout date and instead left a note that mentioned I would be fined $ 200 if I didn’t clean everything myself. Poor taste.
