Have gotten food from here a few times and have never been disappointed. The fried chicken is always hot, juicy, and crispy. The biscuits are amazing. My favorite side is the corn that comes with the fried chicken. Last night we tried the teriyaki chicken, tenderloin, and veggies and were very happy with the taste. Can’t say I have anything bad to say about this establishment.

Love the chicken and biscuits. Get extra biscuits for home. Simple and oh so good. The hibachi is wonderful. I like that I can get brown rice and the veggies where cooked perfect. I have been back 4 times and I am still impressed. I don’t like to leave a good review, until I have tried the place a few times. And I will be going back soon.

I ordered the chicken and biscuit… The biscuit was great, but the chicken was TOO salty. I thought it was just me, but I recommended this place to my cousin(I didn’t mention the salty chicken) and she told me the the same thing. My recommendation: please ease up on the salt.

I am a fan — and if you are in Union County, I might make the statement this is probably some of the best fried chicken you can get. The meat was delicious — even the white meat! Highly recommend you put on your list to try.

I was told by someone that this place was good so I decided to give it a try. I called to place my order over the phone for pick up. The girl who answered the phone was kind of rude and just unfriendly. I can tell she was a young girl. Whatever. Once I got there I seen the young girl(tan skin medium curly hair) and she was still rude. I waited a little bit for my food then she finally handed it to me. She didn’t say a word to me just… gave me my food. And I left lol. I thought maybe the food would just speak for itself. I got the grilled shrimp and chicken with brown rice and I also tried their fried chicken. The chicken and shrimp was just OK. You’re wayyyyy better off just going to sarku Japan if you want hibachi/teriyaki style chicken. Something about it just didn’t sit well with me. I didn’t even finish it. The fried chicken was juicy, fresh, but needed a bit more seasoning? It was just kind of bland. I won’t be coming back here.

I searched for take out places near me and the reviews made this one stand out. I ordered a 2pc white meat w/rice and grilled veg, Shouldn’t be a long review so here goes: Pros: The chicken was very fresh! and when I say it didn’t have an ounce of fat on it. That’s literal! Well bred chicken! The chicken also remained crispy despite the length of time it took me to go retrieve it. The biscuit was also surprisingly good! Cons: The chicken lacked seasoning, despite what the other reviewers said it is a tad bit salty and that tad bit of salt was all I tasted. No spice, No addtl seasoning. I also was not a fan of the teriyaki sauce they drenched my veggies in because it had an after taste.(Ended up throwing that out) The white rice as you can imagine was bland, but that’s typical in Asian cuisine. Tip: Try marinating the chicken.

Delicious checken, both fried and teriyaki. Love that they offer brown rice and tasty vegetables and have specials that provide the occassional included beverage. The moisr, flavorful, crisp chicken is fresh, seasoned to perfection and likely the go back for craved treat. Recommended.

Always made fresh. 5 wing combo is delicious and filling when eating solo. When you need to feed multiple people, the family chicken combo is a great deal. Fried chicken is moist, well seasoned and crispy. Teriyaki stir fried chicken, beef and shrimp are also good. Sides: fries are crispy, veggies are good, cole slaw is always fresh.

My god, I made a mistake… Although I love the fried chicken, I finally decided to check out the hibachi menu and I’ve been hooked ever since! Obsessed even! It’s now an addiction that I am NOT willing to seek help with! I try to find time before work, after work, I’ll even pause a video game during the most epic battles just to run out there real quick and have my fix! Mmmmmm –_– Ok, I’m back, sorry… Anyway, now that I have the food sitting right in front of me, let me tell you. I got the Hibachi Chicken Combo. It comes with hibachi chicken sitting on a bed of white rice(or brown) with grilled vegetables on the side, and I always order 1 biscuit, a mountain dew, and I ask for a side of teriyaki sauce for dipping. The chicken is just SO yummy & juicy with that slight burn to it. The rice has a small hint of sauce that drips from the chicken above. The vegetables are cooked perfectly(a little drenched, but it’s fine) and the biscuit, mentioned in my last review, is fluffy and buttered to perfection. You don’t get a giant meal like you would at a local Chinese take out, but is the quality up to par with Hibachi 86? Absolutely not! And at least I finish my meal, because it is just the right amount. Also, try the steak with a side of mustard and you will feel like you’re at an authentic hibachi table. This place is a perfect 10 rating! Try it out, you will not be disappointed ;)

Food is great and place is spotless. The atmosphere is very casual and inviting. The fried chicken and biscuits are amazing and definitely worth trying. Fountain drinks are also a definite plus!

I like this place. Definitely a great place to have in your pocket if you are looking for decent take out. On my first visit, I sampled the fried chicken wings. Which was surprisingly good. Well seasoned, juicy, and with the right crisp. I ordered that with rice and vegetables. The vegetables are pretty good and they toss it in their teriyaki sauce. The first time the sauce was a bit overwhelming, but the second time it was just right. The rice is not fried; you just get a choice of white or brown rice. The next visit I had hibachi steak; which was pretty good for take out. Like the other Unilocaler mentioned, it is better than the other hibachi take out place further down the street. The place looks pretty clean, overall good service, but small parking lot. You are better off parking on the street depending on the time you go in. I just realized they have a check in deal for 5% off on all items. I have to take advantage.

Awesome place. I’ve been here a handful of times now for lunch and every single time I go the food is great, the service is awesome, the place is SO clean(super IMPORTANT to me). Love that they give the option for fountain soda. I’m a sucker for fountain soda! One of the best places to eat on Stuyvesant Ave. Deff give it a try!

I’ve been eyeing this place even when they were still under construction a couple of months ago. There’s another hibachi place on Stuyvesant(past Stanley Terrace) but this one seems to be the better one to try. As the previous review mentions, 86 Hibachi just opened this week. I saw a constant flow of customers this evening, which was nice to see. 3pc Fried Chicken($ 7.95)(A): Best fried chicken I’ve had in quite some time. After requesting white meat, I received a large breast, thigh, and wing. The chicken was fresh and very tender. Even when I was picking up the thigh, the meat was slowly sliding off the bone along with the crispy chicken skin. More importantly, the chicken is not as salty as the chicken shacks(NY Fried Chicken, Jersey Fried Chicken, etc.). The grilled vegetables I chose for my side were a perfect match – you can also choose from fries, rice, cole slaw, onion rings, and a fruit cup. I never got a biscuit though, which the menu says comes with the combo. Oh, well. I was able to try their Hibachi Teriyaki Chicken, which was what my friend ordered. Teriyaki, at least stateside, is my least favorite sauce. However, it was good to know that the sauce they use is not too sweet. The rice – you choose from brown or white – that comes with the hibachi plate had the right stickiness. They also have a condiment pump next to the drink station that holds their«Yum Yum»(?) sauce. So far, so good. I’ll come back for more of that chicken soon. It definitely beats the overcooked and salty ones you can find along Stuyvesant. Hopefully they add more to their relatively short menu – it’s available on their website if you’re curious.
