For a group of 5, we waited for about 30 minutes. Can’t complain because this place is small. I’m not a big fan of ramen but my friends really wanted to eat here so I decided to give it a try. However, I would come here again! I really like how it reminds me of a ramen stand in Japan! Service: 5 Price vs portion: 5

Simple, rich flavors and decent pricing make me a fan of this place. I’ll often add plenty of heat to my meals but I just as often enjoy the uncomplicated delicious taste of what they set in front of me. The karage was crispy, the broth was rich and the noodles were slurped. It’s nice to have a spot like this close by.

Really good Ramen, I usually get extra noodles with mine and it fills this fat kid right up. The staff is really friendly and attentive. Add Kara to make it spicy… it is worth it. Plus if your congested or sick, this is great«soup» to have to clear yourself up. Definitely the place for Ramen!

Still some solid Ramen in the Tri City area. I had my usual miso Ramen with veggies only, and they happily oblige removing the meat. Love — especially on a cold day or sick day! Next time, I think I’ll one-up the spice and check out the spicy coconut miso Ramen.

This place is pretty good. Joanne the waitress and I think is the owner(not sure) is very nice. I give them 4 star because the place is too small and the noodles are small portion.

So I never had Ramen that didn’t come out of a packet and was very pleased to change that trend by coming to Tadamasa. Tadamasa is a hidden away«hole in the wall» within Union Square in Union City. Inside you have close seating with mirrors on the wall which trick you into thinking that the place is much bigger than it really is. I like it. The windows are blocked with Asian style room dividers with white paper which still allows for natural light to enter the room. The service was great! The hostess/server was attentive as soon as we walked into the door. Seated fairly quick and were handed a simple menu. We were even acknowledged by the cook as they came to the front with previous orders. I liked that I didn’t have to waive down the server for more water. I ordered the Fried Chicken Curry bowl. It was hella delicious! It was… An Explosion of Flavor!!! Oh! Let me rewind! For an appetizer, we had the coconut shrimp with a chili sweet and sour sauce. The best Coconut Shrimp that I ever had! I hate coconut, but all them flavors… very very good! In short! I highly recommend this place! Yeah, it is small, but I’d take intimate over crowded any day! Great service, good food, intimate setting, and I only give four stars due to this being the only ramen establishment I’ve gone to so far.

Small place tucked away in the corner of the parking lot, next to a bar. Maybe 10 tables inside. I sat down and a menu was dropped off. I ordered the tonkatsu, extra egg, add spicy. Less than 5 minutes later, a hot bowl of ramen was in front of me. This is only my 2nd ramen experience. I still don’t know what I like and don’t like. I liked the noodles, not too firm or chewy. The broth was rich, not overly salty. The add spicy wasn’t too spicy. The pork was meaty, not too fatty. Overall, I was satisfied. I was a little worried that I would still be hungry after finishing. The bowl looked small, but I was full. I’ll be back!

Ok, my son just turned me on to the real world of Ramen and I have checked into a few spots eating my way though some pretty tasty noodles. Bar none, Tadamsa get’s my vote. When I first arrived at the resturant it was packed and I was really surprised how small it is. People continued to arrive and there was a wait out the door. When I got the menu I didn’t even know how to order ramen between Shio Ramen, Black Garlic Ramen, Miso Ramen, Tan Tan Ramen… what’s a girl to do! I really couldn’t make up my mind but if you are new to these wonderful noodles start with Shio because it is oh so good. I ordered mine with extra green onion, cilantro and egg with no Nori.(not a fan). I also ordered the gyoza potstickers and the chicken karrage is exceptional. I was really surprised how good their ramens are and the bar is the standard for me. I rate my expereinces at other ramen places to Tadamasa and for sure I am very happy with their food. I usually call in my order ahead of time and get it to go since it is usually my dinner. Tasty, good service, small place… plan to wait but it’s so worth the wait! Lastly, it is so surprising to have a good little spot like this in Union City!

After waiting for about 20 minutes we were able to get the whole family seated. The service is busy and took a while due to the business of the place. I think when it comes to the ramen broth it’s not as flavorful as you’d expect but decent. The noodles are okay and on the firmer side, not chewy the way I like them. However what makes this place stand out was really good was the chasu. I think that’s probably what really accentuates the ramen here and hit the spot for me. Good ramen place to check out but be ready to wait in line!

This used to be my go-to ramen spot whenever I was back in the area, but I was rather disappointed with my most recent visit. I got the miso ramen, as I usually do, but this time around the broth was thin and salty while lacking the rich flavors of miso. The presentation and the other components were also lacking: the onsen egg was extremely salty, the cabbage was limp and overcooked, and there were a few sad pieces of corn mixed in with ground meat thrown in as if on afterthought. The effort Tadamasa used to put in their food seems to be gone and with that I will probably not be returning.

We came to Tadamasa after leaving Yokohama because there was a 45 minute wait. The ramen here is decent and the menu is straight forward. I she got the sapporo miso ramen and I got the tan tan ramen which was suppose to be spicy but wasn’t at all. Friendly and quick service. Tadamasa which may not be the best top ramen joint still qualifies as ramen to satisfy your ramen fix. I know Yokohama is always busy. If you don’t want to wait in long line or drive long distance to another ramen joint. Tadamasa ramen is decent and will satisfy your craving.

Delicious! I came in here recently after 10 minutes of opening and it was already packed full of people so I had to wait a little bit. After Men-oh was taken down this is my next favorite ramen shop. I am very particular about ramen flavors so at the moment this is my favorite. I am rather sad at their lack of toppings that they put on their ramen(the chashu tonkatsu doesn’t come with the egg I so very much love!), which makes me miss Men-Oh so more. I will keep exploring other ramen places and when they disappoint me I’ll head back here :) Other things I’d recommend trying: garlic edamame and their calamari! So yummy.

I was so disappointed with my visit tonight. I ordered the tantan ramen and it did not taste the same :( The meat was a little burnt and overcooked. The broth wasn’t as good. When I got home, I was so THIRSTY! I had to drink so much water! There was a bit of a line tonight. Probably because of the cold weather. Hopefully, my next visit will be better!

My ramen adventure never ends, and today’s brisk weather made it a perfect day to try Tadamasa. Like most ramen joints, this place has pretty limited seating– hence the sign-in clipboard at the entrance. Luckily, the bf and I had good timing and were seated within minutes, at the bar near the goldfish tank overlooking the kitchen magic. Although, our waitress was quite busy serving most of the restaurant, she managed to attend to us and ask how things were with pleasant enthusiasm. We were quite famished and decided to get an appetizer: the Fried Takoyaki which are octopus balls– minced that is. They were sprinkled with panko and green onion and had a mealy texture full of flavors with bits of octopus. I ordered the Chasu Tonkatsu Ramen with Kara which is just adding spicy. My broth was partially chicken and pork. It came with that nice soy sauce soft boiled egg, bamboo shoots, seaweed, slices of pork, and I added some corn. The noodles were thinner than normal and close to al dente, but I really enjoyed them. Overall, the ramen was hearty and hit the spot, but it was definitely one of the more milder tasting ramens I’ve had. The flavors were mild and not as nuanced as most ramen I’ve had. The broth is definitely not overly greasy or thick which I like. We don’t live in the area, but I’d definitely go back if I was in the vicinity!

Tadamasa is a pretty cute small ramen shop located in Union City almost next to my old Vet. It wasn’t that easy to find this place according to my GPS, but we found it after driving around in the parking lot. For a Saturday afternoon, it was packed for lunch when we were there around 1pm, but we got seat within like 7mins at the counter near the kitchen. I got the Tonkatsu Chashu Ramen, and it was pretty tasty. My only gripe about is that there was a clump of noodles that remain clumped together even after I tried to poke it to separate them & let them soak longer in the broth in the bowl.

Delicious ramen! I had the spicy miso chasu ramen. I loved the broth which was not so salty. The chasu was very tender. The only thing I wished was that they put more different toppings like bean sprouts or woodear.

So glad I found this hidden ramen spot! It was a cold rainy evening and I was craving something warm and delicious; ramen! Tadamasa was my first pick on Unilocal because of the ratings from my fellow Unilocalers! I was a little hesistant at first since I am vegetarian but I gave them a call and they reassured me they had vegetarian items and could make any soup/ramen vegetarian. When we got there the place was pretty full for a random Wednesday night– always a good sign. Service was quick and pleasant, the waiters were nice and checked up on us frequently. We ordered the vegetarian ramen and it was amazing! Will definitely be back here especially with winter rollin’ in =)

Before Yokohama and Matsuri opened, Tadamasa was the only known ramen place to exist in Union City. This was actually one of my first encounters with legitimate ramen. Whenever I am craving ramen and do not want to drive to the South Bay or across the San Mateo, Tadamasa is an option if I am not feeling the broth over at Yokohama. I usually get the shoyu ramen with chasu. What I like the most about Tadamasa are for their noodles. I like my noodles thick and chewy in texture. If you plan on eating here, I would highly recommend NOT ordering take out. They give very little broth so my noodles just soak up all the broth…

If Matsuri didn’t exist within walking distance from this place, it would’ve been a 4 stars from me. However, given the context, after finishing my meal at Tadamasa my very first thought was of regret that I didn’t just walk over to Matsuri instead. ~ Atmosphere: It’s a tiny shop, with only a few tables. Despite the small interior, I do like the décor. If you walk inside a little bit, there’s a really cool bar section you can sit at and enjoy your ramen. ~ Customer Service: The customer service here is so good that to be honest I feel legitimately bad for reviewing only 3 stars(even though that’s still a decent score to get!) Since it’s a tiny restaurant, there’s only 1 waitress who runs the show. She’s not super friendly, but she’s quick, efficient, and good at her job. She also makes an effort to ensure that we’re all enjoying what we get. One man sitting near me complained that his broth was too salty for his liking. The waitress responded by requesting non-salty base broth that he could add to his soup to balance out the flavour; so pretty much he just got extra broth for free! ~ Food: I ordered the Chasyu Tonkotsu ramen. It was«okay», tasty but not something I’d specifically look forward to eating again. I feel like it really lacked a certain something in the flavour department. The meat was very bland and lackluster as well. — I don’t really get the hype for this place. Maybe I picked the wrong thing to order but the whole thing seemed really bland and«I guess it’s okay» to me, there was nothing special about the ramen that made me want more. To be fair, before Matsuri came along it’s not like a Union City resident was spoiled for choice when it came to ramen joints so Tadamasa has its place. The customer service is great and they serve solid 3 stars ramen. Still, I won’t be back with Matsuri just a minute away.

2nd visit at Tadamasa and found that they are quite consistent. It’s just like I remembered on a prior visit. The cleanliness and welcoming atmosphere left a perfect picture as a place I wouldn’t mind dining again. I do wish I ventured off to their other ramen offerings, but perhaps on a future visit. Ordered the Sapporo Tonkotsu Shio Ramen and Kaki Fry. The ramen definitely warmed me up on a cool evening. Loved the noodles. Don’t expect a bold broth. I believe it is a particular style and of course a preference. If you want something with kick, I advise trying their other ramen offerings. As for the fried oysters? Es muy excellente! The parking lot was crowded as I had to park little further. A little exercise doesn’t hurt.
