I have spent over $ 5000 with this store for 2TV’s, a fireplace, and a dinette set. I’ve finally paid off my account and spoke with a James the store manager to pickup my invoices for my account(since they don’t mail acct closure information). James was exceptionally RUDE. When I asked for his last name in case there was any issue with my invoices, he absolutely refused to give it to me. I did, finally, obtain the information of his manager, however, John Harrison. John, please educate your employees on customer service rather than«you’ve earned a $ 100 store credit for your next purchase.» Your lack of customer service is asinine and I ABSOLUTELYANDCOMPLETELYREGRETSPENDINGTHISMUCHMONEYWITHYOURSTORE. Last Saturday, they called to tell me my account was due. I wasn’t able to call them until Monday. I told them I needed an extension until Friday, and I would be making the final payment. She said a manager would need to approve that, and no manager was available, so a manager would need to call me back. Nothing. Tuesday, I got a regular«Please call us regarding your account» call. My work hours are the same as their hours so it’s hard to call during the week. I called today(Friday), and one of the managers starts basically harassing me as soon as I give my name. I try to tell him what occured Monday, but every other word he’d interrupt, until I literally had to say«Would you please let me finish?» He then stated that they tried to go by my house, and the address I gave was a school. I told him no, it’s not, that my address is 515, the school is 521, and that I wasn’t sure what he was accusing me of, because they’ve delivered to my house before, so they were able to find it then. He then said I’d need to bring my account current before paying it off. No problem. He said the payment would be «Somewhere around $ 127». and stated he couldn’t give me an exact amount, just a ‘around’ number. All this while on speaker phone. He finally gave me the ‘maximum’ it would be. And then asked for my card number. I said I wasn’t comfortable giving my credit card details over speakerphone. He said he’d take the call in another room. A minute later, he then said he needed to leave, and passed me to another manager, who sounded like a robot. «Card number. Expiration. Zip Code. Ok, next.» I don’t forsee doing business with Rent A Center ever again, not with this shady business. And the call for the replacement dryer? Never came.

this was my first time purchasing any merchandise from Rent a center and the process was pretty easy. Josh helped us with all of our paperwork and he was very thorough explaining every detail. We had a bit of a problem contacting out landlord but Josh was persistant and kept us updated every step of the way. We get a coutesy phone call to remind us when our payment is due which is super convenient. I was even told that if I have any problems with the laptop(crashing, virus etc) I would be able to go ahead and bring it in! I have just a few weeks left on my contract for my laptop and i am already thinking about what id like to purchase next! If you need another alternative to purchasing electronics this place is worth giving a try. Im glad I did:-)
