Best grilled chicken on bergen line! The service is decent, the portions are good for the price, the chicken is devine! I have to figure out how they season it lol everytime I’m back home I have to stop by here and eat, it was so bad I brought some back on the plane with me and had everyone hungry on the plane. It’s just that good. 4 out of 5 stars because the place needs a face lift. It’s been times when I lived in jersey I’ve eaten here 4 times out of the week because it’s just that good.

I was a bit skeptical about eating here. My boyfriend chose this restaurant and we ordered the large churrasco and it came with two sides for 18.99. We chose rice with red beans and tostones as our side dishes. The churrasco portion was huge and it was flavored so well. The rice and red beans had pork in it for flavor and I was not a fan of that. They should really advise of having pork in their rice, the smoky flavor took over the rice. The tostones were okay, the portion was rather large but they didn’t seem fresh. I would order from here again but just choose different sides.

Chicken is so fresh! Also love the black rice, yucca and ribs. Really quick and friendly service, too! If you get tacos(also fresh and delicious) or ribs, call in advance so you don’t have to wait for them to cook them up.

Quick & to-the-point review: I do like their food. Their coleslaw is my favorite item. Can’t leave the joint without a large order in my bag. Big big con: I am only fluent in spanish, even though my parents are latino. But just because I’m hispanic, doesn’t mean I should only speak spanish. In english, I tried ordering a family meal and a large coleslaw to go and it took the cashier literally 10+ minutes to take my order.(Thank god there wasn’t a line) I even pointed to the items on the yellow paper menu they have and he still couldn’t understand what I wanted. But before you jump to conclusions, no… I did not raise my voice, I did not catch an attitude with the attendant. Even though I was polite & courteous, I was losing my patience. Ordering food shouldn’t be so difficult. Not everyone in Union City speaks spanish. If these businesses want to keep making money, at least hire a bilingual cashier. Overall, yes I would recommend Pollo Supremo but know at least SOME spanish. It’ll save you a headache.
