I am really glad they closed down! Place was very nasty. Was nothing like mexican food! Was very upset I wasted my money on them!

I am not sure why so many negative review here. I ordered fish taco, chicken burrito and taco salad yesterday. The cashier was very patience to explain each item and also willing to take my additional request). The food were delicious and I love to salsa bar(especially the mango salsa, it has real mango in it). Will definitely purchase again.

I had a really pleasant dining experience at their location down in San Diego, so I was excited to find them here. Small, Mexican-style restaurant located inside of a moderately sized shopping plaza next to the freeway — good place to catch a quick lunch or dinner, or carry-out. They are next to a couple eateries — Starbucks, Pasta Pomodoro. The parking lot is oddly configured so it can be busy during peak hours. The service here was slow, food was meh, and the cashier was not friendly or informative. They also don’t offer outdoor seating so that was also a bummer :(

Although I’m not a big fan of fast food, La Salsa wasn’t too shabby as a company catered lunch. We had a taco buffet bar with all the fixings including various types of salsa. It was quite filling in the end I nearly slipped into a food coma afterwards. I sampled almost a bit of everything that was offered. Chicken taco was better than the steak taco. Grilled steak was a bit chewy and had grizzle. Beans and rice was standard. Guacamole tasted off… like the instant kind made from powder. Traditional and mango salsas were good. That’s about it. Most likely wouldn’t actually go to the La Salsa to eat there. However, for a free meal, not bad at all. For catering, they fill up those trays up to the rim. Good value. You can easily feed an army!

This was my first time coming here. My friends and I wanted a quick lunch/dinner before we were going to watch our movie. I ordered a fish taco platter. They have self serve salsas(I really like the mango one). The fish tacos were pretty decent, not amazing but I would definitely repurchase. The environment overall was sort of dirty. There were food on the seats and the tables were uncleaned. The customer service was okay. They didn’t seem very happy, it was one of those situations where you look at them and say«they totally hate their job.» I didn’t read the reviews before coming here, but after seeing all the nastiness and bad reviews I think I’ll head over to the Auto Mall location instead if I want some of their food. So overall, I would come back but never to this location(they seem to really have a sanitary problem).

Service is horrible. Went in there and one one came out even though I was standing there for five minutes by myself in front if the cash register. I saw the cashier talking and laughing in the back and not once did she check if a customer was present. Ended up walking out without getting anything.

I love to come to La Salsa because of the food and the employees. The employees are like a family and they are always friendly and happy to see me. They have great carnitas and I love the Mexico City Platter.

This review is mostly from vegetarian point of view. They have separate vegetarian menu just next to the cashier counter. Imagine you are in line and everyone eyeing at you. and you still thinking veg options from the large menu ;). I guess this makes the job much easier :) I have ordered ‘Fire Roasted Bowl without meat’ and found it really really tasty(It could be a welcome change from my usual Chipotale bowl). It was reasonably priced around 4 $ or something. I have liked Chips, Salsa and Guac(4.25) as well. Open Salsa bar are always welcome. Kids meals comes with rice and drink. I have also found Quesadilla was nicer than Chipotale conterpart. Overall it was good easygoing trip and will come back for more!

I bought 3 vouchers from Amazon Local. 2 for $ 12, 1 for $ 25. I give my kids the $ 12 vouchers to go get themselves something eat. Food is OK at best. But the problem here is I checked my account and they say that I used all my vouchers. I call Amazon to tell them I have one unused voucher. They call La Salsa Union City and the manager says I used all three in one day and give them some random date they were used. I will never go there again, Do not waste your money!

I don’t think we can ever eat at this location ever! We ordered a taco salad bowl to go. My co-worker started to dig in her taco salad bowl enjoying the taco until under neath the veggies, beans and rice she found a big round metal. This metal seems to be part of sink strainer or a can. ITSSOWRONG!!! We returned this and the manager was not there that day. What they did is replaced the meal and did not charge anymore, however they made us sign a receipt to show as a proof that they did give a refund to a customer so that their manager would NOTDOUBTTHEM. Its just crazy how this was handled. A few days after we called back to talk to the manager as we just wanted to be assured that the mistake would be corrected and never happens again. Guess what, manager was in the store but was busy! We told them to call us back but they never did. This is just poor operations, cleanliness and bad customer service. We love La Salsa food but I guess never again from this branch. Eat here at your risk unless you savor metal cans/strainers mixed w/your meal. (I’ve posted a photo of the taco bowl w/the round metal, see picture 30)

It’s bit expensive but the meals are always good here. The people who works here are great too. What’s brings me back here is the quality of their food and it never let’s me down at all. This is why I have going here for years! Great place highly recommended!

This place is in the Union Landing Plaza along with the 25 Century Cinema. We just came form seeing a couple of movies and wanted some«United States Mexican Food»! LOL For all those who have had authentic Mexican food… you know what I mean! I had an over-stuffed«wet» steak burrito. It was not very overstuffed but the taste was good especially when you accompany it with such a good salsa bar. I now know why it is called«La Salsa» and Not«La Burrito»! The emphasis is truly on the Salsa bar… and if that’s what you really like then go there but if you want the emphasis on the Entrée; choose another.

This was my first experience at this, or any, La Salsa. When it comes to quick burittos, i usually go to Chipotle. But i was out with my dad, and he was hungry, so i decided to treat him and let him choose. So we went to La Salsa. The parking is horrible. But we’ve come to expect that in Union Landing. Usually you have to park way on the other wise by Lucky’s. And even when you park over there, spots are hard to come by. The place itself was pretty clean though. The food was prepared really quickly and delivered to the table steaming hot. They have a pretty cool salsa bar that has some great tasting salsas. The buritto itself was good, but not what i expected. I ordered the grilled overstuffed buritto. And to say the least, it was not overstuffed. It had a good flavor, the chicken was cooked right, and the tortilla was nicely toasted. But it certainly didnt live up to the title. As far as this place goes, it was good food, good prices, and quick. But in the future, i will probably go to Chipotle for my buritto cravings. I will likely give La Salsa a second chance so i can try their tacos though. Overall, good place.

I’m being very generous because I love their Mango Salsa. :) Girl at counter was hella rude. I’m sorry, I don’t know what every little word says on that menu. The writing is so small. I asked for a water cup, and she didn’t even give me one. She said, uhh, there over there. Like, oh ok. I’m sorry to put you out, OBVIOUSLY you’re so busy doing nothing. I would *not* recommend this place, but if you’re in a hurry and you’re in the area, why not.

I came here during my lunch break since its not that far from my work place. All my co-workers were raving about this place but i don’t think it was THAT great. it was just OK! It was pretty empty when i came here. i would say 4 people sitting and a whole bunch of workers. i wasnt that hungry but i really wanted a soda! there were so many choices and i just didn’t know what to get. my coworkers told me to get the burrito but i wasn’t craving for a burrito so i got a baja style shrimp taco $ 2.50. it was alright. tortilla wrap was hella dry =/it didn’t wow me, except that it has 4 pieces of grilled shrimp, avocado, diced lettuce and diced tomatoes. they also gave out free tortilla chips with unlimited salsa! the tortilla chips were still warm :) I probably will come here for the chips again ;)

My fiancé and I thought of having Mexican food for lunch before watching a movie last weekend and we ended up at La Salsa. It was conveniently located near the movie theater. Their setting was typical Mexican fast food joint: pay first then pick-up order. We both ordered their Super Burrito with chips. I was totally disappointed with the so-called«Super» Burrito. Yes, it looked big, but once you get a hold of it, you can feel that it was not really stuffed with the goodies inside. It was one big tortilla with a little something inside. The burrito looked flat and not fully round. It almost looked like a quesadilla and not a burrito. Plus, the different salsa offered were not really spicy. They had one spicy one according to them(the orange one in front), but it was not spicy at all. However, if mixed with the medium ones, then there’s a little bit of kick in it.(I guess I’ve eaten too many really spicy dishes.) Well, the servers/cashiers were friendly and the place was clean, but I wish they would really serve an eight-dollar-burrito and not a quesadilla-looking-eight-dollar-burrito.

We went for a cheap & relatively quick dinner at La Salsa Mexican Grill. It’s in the Union City Century 25 shopping center near Starbuck’s & Lucky’s. I wasn’t very hungry so got: Baja grilled fish taco $ 3.50 — one small slice of fish w/cabbage, slice of avocado, cheese. Just ok. Comes with some chips. Side of beans $ 1.55: choice of black or pinto. I picked black. Nothing special. B. got 2 fish taco deal $ 6.75 — not much fish, he thought it was ok. Side of rice $ 1.55 — one of the worst rice I’ve ever tried. Hard & dry. Skip it. They have a small salsa bar you can help yourself. Nothing really tasty, the avocado one passable, pico de gallo ok. Dine in total $ 13.35 + tax $ 1.30 = $ 14.65. Credit cards allowed. 2 booths available, plenty of tables. One unisex bathroom in the back.

Decent food and clean place to dine-in. This place is near a movie theater and makes for a good dinner first and then walk over to catch a movie. This is American-style Mexican food so don’t expect any authentic Mexican food here. But the food does taste fresh. I can often times just come in for guacemole and chips for my meal.
