Real Cuban food, great taste, not greasy. The wait staff is very friendly and over accommodating.

This is by far the best Cuban small restaurant in Hudson County. The empanadas were amazing house made both chicken and beef. I had the Cuban Sandwhich and it was a hit. Definitely my go to spot from here on.

by far my favorite cuban restaurant in the area. ALWAYS order the Cuban sandwich, croquettas, guava and cheese empanada and chocolate milkshake because they are my favorite items on the menu. papaya shake is great too, all the appetizers are yummy. if you want great, fresh, delicious cuban food go here!

great venue, great food!!! just one caveat… don’t expect the younger [tall thin son] of the owner, to have anything resembling a personality or any ability to engage. this guy never smiles or cracks a joke. he doesn’t have a creepy vibe, but he’s obviously in his own insular world. i don’t know what his trauma is, i feel for him on a human level;but, i also so wish he could be a bit more like his older quite social gregarious brother;as that makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable.

My wife introduced me to this restaurant over 20 years ago and we order take out every-so-often. We really enjoy the Cuban and Bistek sandwiches, empanadas, croquettas, papa rellenos and sweet plaintains — our usual mix when we and friends are craving Cuban food. La Gran Via never disappoints — food wise and service wise. We tried the Ropa Vieja here for the first time and it too was excellent. Gracias for your consistently good food(and always getting our order right!)

Horrible! This place used to be great but its no longer the place I grew up going to. The place is still very clean but the food was no longer good. It was not Cuban, for that matter. You know Cuban food is Cuban food and you know when its just all wrong. Omg! The ropa vieja was bitter, the beans were watery(there’s no such thing as watery black beans in my world), and the picadillo was pale and stale without sauce. I couldn’t understand it. I’m never going back! I should’ve realized it wasn’t the same when I didn’t see one Cuban working or dining there. Feeling very dissappointed. The empanada and maduros were tge only edible things from my meal.

Excellent authentic Cuban food. You don’t come here to impress your date! You come to La Gran Via if you want to eat traditional Cuban with everyone speaking Spanish in the background.

yum, me gusto la gran via! if i didn’t care about my health or getting fat, i wouldn’t mind eating here 3−4x/wk. the food is prepared fresh, it comes out pretty fast, and the service is friendly. every time i go in there, there is a tween hanging out w/her uncle who works there. i usually practice my spanish w/her while i’m waiting for my food. she giggles a lot, of course, but she does also recommend some other dishes to me too. thumbs up to their: beef empanadas camarones con ajillo churrasco steak breaded steak boneless grilled chicken breast arroz moro plaintains mofongo w/pork
didn’t particularly love: chicken soup

Cute little spanish café/restaurant. Dining room for sit down dinners with authentic tasting soups and dishes. Bar seating available for a casual sit down lunch. Good service from a family(i think they are family) run business, speak english which is hard to find in this area. My favourite is the beef empinadas! Yum!

This place surprised me by looks. Seems like a little hole in the wall place, but then again, aren’t those the places that are usually the best? Great Spanish food. Even though I was full, I had to finish my plate. Special Spanish deserts as well. And very inexpensive!
